I have a Airtel postpaid number ([protected] - Karnataka circle).
My services were barred due to non submission of the bill. The bill was not
paid because I was in a remote location and I had promised (via email) to pay
the bill on my return (that would have been on month end nov 2011).
Even after that Airtel people were calling my relatives for my whereabouts.
On 25th Nov 2011 Mr. Praveen Kumar (from cell number [protected], from Airtel
Legal department) called on my alternate number and threatened me that if the
bill is not paid by the end of the day, he will call my relatives and will use
abusive language. And that he knows how to get the bill paid etc."
Is that the kind of recovery process a reputed company like Airtel should be
having? Even when I had promised to pay the bill in writing, how can Airtel
personnel threaten a consumer?
I want to take serious action against this, so please let me know how to
proceed further or kindly suggest if I should approach consumer court.
