AirTel — Duplicate SIM not activated
Having lost my SIM I applied for a duplicate sim the next day at around noon ( 4 May 2011) . I was told that the duplicate sim for my postpaid connection would be activated within 4 hours, its more than 12 hours now, and is still not activated. The customer care person asks me to get information from the place where I got the duplicate sim! This is so not customer friendly. I am choosing to disconnect the service as I am tired of this waiting. I am Vibha Sampath residing in Chennai. My airtel sim which is a Karnataka sim got damaged so I called customer care. They told me to get a duplicate sim in airtel main office in Chennai. So I got a duplicate sim on 17th Jan 2015 from your Santhome High Road office. My sim is still not activated. I have submitted all the necessary documents to Chennai office. I am very unhappy by the service provided. I can't go all the way to Mysore to just get a duplicate sim.
Last week I went there twice. I submitted document on 17th Jan. They told me that I have to get a passport size photo. Previous day when I went they just told me photo id is required. They didn't tell about passport size photo. I told them I can mail a soft copy of my photo. For that also they did not agree. I complained to authorized person. He agreed to send a mail of my photo. They also told that back end people is not in the office and since its a Karnataka sim back end people should be there. Later after complaining they got duplicate sim. They could have got without giving reasons.
I want my number activated immediately.
