[Resolved]  chingu shawl from himachal — non receipt of lease agreement copy

My husband and I went to Manali for leave travel. Out of curiosity we bought something called "Chingu".

The Chingu is a quilt kinda thing. It wasn’t for sale. It was for lease. They got my wife's signature on an agreement and told that you will get your copy from himachal handloom works in due course. The cost was 7K; after a period of 21 months, a person from their side will supposedly come and collect the chingu from you after paying you 9K...! And why so? Because Meneka Gandhi has banned the furnaces that were earlier used to heat the chingu stuff to make out shawls from it… 1 chingu once heated expands to make 5-6 shawls each of which sells for around 20-30K. Now human body is the best furnace in the world as claimed by them! Moreover in order to lure the customers they are offering a lot of free products as gift such as bed sheets, angora shawl, carpet, dress materials etc. After 21 months you return the chingu but can keep the gifts all for yourself!

We paid them Rs. 600/- as advance. We were told that the products will come to us in Gandhidham -Kachchh by VPP.

After returning to Gandhidham, we did not receive anything by VPP. We enquired about through the hotel where we had stay as phone numbers given were not responding. However, we received a VPP parcel afterwards.

We have still not received lease agreement and we are doubtful about anything like 'chingu'.

If such fraduelant marketing is done at tourist place, then people will be cheated out of curiosity. The name of shop written over receipt given to us is as under.

I have been cheated in the same manner..
And i have registered a similar complaint.
Hope we will be given justice and such people who are in the market cheating others should be punished.

This is happeining again and again.. but there is no justice.. So many compalints against this but there is no querry. I can't understand so many shopkeepers do cheating and nobody is going to ask them. Its a day time froud .. For god sake now stop this.. Making tourist fool.. by selling them 1000 or 2000s product in 7000s.

We have also purchase as Chingu Blanket from Kashmir Art Emporium, Kufri and we have given 1050 advance. Remaining amout we pay by VPP and received (Last week)all the item that we selected at Kufri (Shimla) I think its depend upon shopkeeper to shopkeeper.

Ladakh Kashmir Udyog Corp, Shop no 6, Near Nag mandir, Karlah, patnitop(J&K)

Kashmir Art Emporium, Kufri ka contact no. kahi kho gaya hai aur sabhi material ki delivery nahi hua hai. Plz mere saman mujhe de do. nahi to mai police me report karunga aur forum me case bhi karunga.

Plz mere saman mujhe dilwa do. nahi to mai police me report karunga aur forum me case bhi karunga.

they r just fraud... i know them all so any one want any type of help plz reply me..

there is also dahej package in harimarket in jammu...so i request to all our valueed custtomers dnt buy any type of chingu or any type of shawls, blankets, saree, suits, chingu or dahej package frm jammu...

Yup! 3 of my frens n me too were told that on buying the blanket we wud get an additional blanket set, 1 pashmina shawl, 1 dress material 1 bedsheet and 1 blanket set(6 items in all), we wud receiv a gift of rabbit fur set (blanket n 2 pillow covers) at the end of 24 months and Rs.13000/- after 5 years.The reason we wer told is the same - Maneka Gandhi's bann to kill animals. We had all made a payment of Rs7000/- on receiving the VPP. On enquiry aftr 24 months we wer told we wud receive d set along wid Rs. 13000/- directly after 5 years. Now aftr 5 years(in Feb 2013, coz we had bought it in Feb 2008) when we try the landline no. we have on the receipts n d visitin cards, nobody answers the cal while the cellfon is switched off.
Where do we complain and what needs to b done is a big question b4 us, if sombody cud guide us pleaz!!! We c no sense in goin to d police coz the stupidest answer they wud giv is "jitna mila utna ganimat samjho madam baki bhul jao". Most disgustin!!! We get openly cheated in the name of the Kashmir Govt. yet c no justice!!!
Now is Maneka Gandhi gonna fulfil d promises we wer made? Who do we approach for justice? Wil no action b ever taken against these people in Kashmir Arts Emporium, Kufri(where we bought our stuff) or the other tourist destinations as mentioned above??????????

I have been also cheated by Kufri kashmir art silk emporium. They collected Rs 2500 from me in advance on 26th October 2015, promising to deliver the material on November. But they did not deliver the material till date and when I call them most of the time they do not picking up the phone and telling it is wrong number. I HAVE ORIGINAL BILL of all the items and payment receipt. Please help me how to take an action against them.

I bought chingu blankets from kashmir arts emporium, kufri costs 21600. It is inside kufri amusement park. I paid all on the spot as they said they will send to nepal by courrier in 10 days. They made us belief that that belongs to government. Its already 1 month, i didnt get any thing and their mobile are also switched off. Sandy 0091-[protected] and raju0091-[protected] were the one who sold to me.
Please anyone can help me to get their contact number and to get my things or money.
