[Resolved]  GILMA Chimney Hobs — Pathetic Support

I purchased a GILMA Chimney and a Hob (GST4B) in October 2007. During purchase, I was assured of PROMPT SUPPORT till 12 months, but only after 3 months, this seemed a very notional commitment.

3 days back, while switching ON the hob, the knob simply came out and Gas started leaking. I had no option but to turn off the regulator. I tried calling Gilma Support (phone no. 23149101, Mr Lokesh) but he expressed his inability to come and asked me to keep it pending till 2 - 3 days, When I argued, he simply said go and talk to our heaqd office, we wont come before 3 days.

I tried contacting Gilma company, STOVEKRAFT as well parent VARDHMAN group but neither no Phone number available on Web. Only Fax and email - when sent, Emails Bounced abd Fax is unanswered. I am unable to contact any customer support or service number.

Dear Friend,

Gilma group is in the bussiness of cheating people and putting customers life at risk. I bought a gas stove that was so unsafe to use that I asked them to keep the stove to themself. The group isn't courteous enough to settle my account. Try calling this number :[protected] /[protected] Rajendra Gandhi / Priya. I challange the group to demonstrate their automatic gas stove working.

As i know GILMA is one of the respectfull BRAND company is India. I had good experience with one of your show room in
ITPL road. So i had refred one my best friend to go for GILMA. We went to the GILMA Show room and selected one model which i had taken, in other show rooms it was 4999Rs, in the "GLMA show room, Innovative Multiplex theater, MArthalli, banglaore" charged me 6999Rs. This is rediculas and pathtic, as well known brand GILMA management should take the action agians on this.

We had ordered GILMA chimney on Friday and we were assured that the Hob which is a free product with chimney will reach us on Monday, Monday passed and when we called on Tuesday, they told definitely Tuesday will be delivered at your door step, and Tuesday passed no one called to inform, we again called on Tuesday late evening to the Mobile number of BDM Net work show room of GILMA, he said Wednesday will make sure it will be, again they failed when called late evening wednesday he said tomorrow(Thrusday) by 1 PM it will be delivered, but the sotry repeats and they don't seem to be worthy enough to call agian. Never go for GILMA. People are lucky they got the products as said, but here they are not bothered to see if Customer has to receive the product for which we have paid already.
I feel I am lucky backing out of purchasing gilma products. Thanks to all your comments.

I, before going through these agonizing facts of after sales; was about to decide on purchasing a hob, chimney, solar water heater from gilma.

I have experienced the same kind of irregular responses from gilma representatives even before sale of their product.

I only hope they comeup to the expectations of people who wish to buy their products & be in business.
I have purchased Gilma Chimney and Hobs even though lots of my friends discouraged and recommended to buy Faber which is leading brand in India. The only reason I opted for Gilma was it is looking much glamorous than Faber. I am completely satisfied with the dealer and product performance. I am happy that I did not listen to unwanted opinions.
I am planning to purchase a hob & chimney. Which is the bes brand? Is Gilma OK. They are saying this as 25k in showroom
I purchased Gilma built in hob a year back now its not working, I ve tried every number to contact for srvice but no responsible answer from any of the representatives so now I am planning to hang the stove on some main road tree with sign saying I purchased this and it was a big mistake.
Any of these branded devices you are going to buy, check if it is really required. Faber says they have a patented system which helps in easy cleaning, while Gilma team seems to have a mesh type( even Faber has the same at a lesser price). You need to keep a maintainence intact if you want to see your product go for a lifetime, the best way what i can suggest is while building the kitchen, ensure proper ventilation is there if possible a good circulation. This will help in saving money rather than wasting money on these fancy devices. I had 2 chimneys one from Faber as they are leading and the other Gilma, but let me tell you both are same, it will fail after a year or two unless you are careful with your maintainence.

We bought a Gilma Hob and Chimney 19 days back. Initially, it took them 2 weeks from the promised date to come and install the whole thing that too after repeated calls.
Since the beginning of installation the oil keeps dripping from the hob everytime we put it on while cooking. The technicians have come 4 times already after much calling and calling and calling. They promise to call back but never do. They've given a phone number of their Manager ( Mr. bhandvi) who doesnt pick up his phone.
The service is pathetic. The 5th time we called the customer service person asked us to clean the filter ourselves, as if we are responsible for the leak.
There doesnt seem to be an access to people higher up in the company to complain.
We feel exhausted the number of times we have to follow up and still doing regarding the oil leak.

Now, we are planning to goto the consumer court.

hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii friends.this is chetan here.i bought a gilma chimney 3 months back and i am really happy with its working.the only thing we need to take care is cleaning the filter on regular basis.and the prices are really better compared to that of faber.

I bought the gilma 4 burner manual before 1 year and have guarantee for 2 years, but now two burners are not working, many times i contacted, but no response i dont wat to do?
gilma staff are bunch of who pass on the to others whn we complaints .thay are promp only while collecting advance total payments.u can risk to purchase and keep calling to get the basic work.
I am the other victim of Gilma, The showroom is located in Hyderabad Habsiguda the owner name is Vikram .. We had a concern with the chimney and never turned up saying that they are calling the Gilma ppl now what we see is the other gilma showroom is giving a free locker of gilma he never gave me one and he charged 22, 000 and other showroom bills only for 17, 000..
I have purchased a gas stow around 2 year back and the stow was bought by Mr. Babu and Mrs. Indu at that time she was a vice President for that company. They assured of all support for any diffects arising during the usage. After 3 months one of the Hub burner was giving unequal flame and was reported to Madem Indu. She said she will be sending a person for repair. A person came ans saw the diffect and said this needs some for repair as they have to wait for that part. So far no body came and repaired Another problem is auto ignition is not working from lost 6 months. When ever I called STOWCRAFT they said I have to contact the service desk and they have no info who looks after the service desk in Vijayanagar. I thought that the battery lost its life and when I saw it is printed as RECHARGABLE. I have no idea how to rechrage . Can U Pl. send some body to rectify this deffect and or to replace the Battery if it is deffective. and also request the Gilma outlet/Service centre address/Phone No. in Vijayanagar.
I AM OF THE SAME OPINION AND VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED FROM GILMA AND THEIR STUPID CUSTOMER SERVICE. LIAR AND LIAR.
we bought a solar heating system 3 months ago from the day one it did not work it started to leak . We planned for holiday but we had to spend our entire holiday running behind the Gilma staff who are bunch of liars and they are good in shifting the responsibility and the phone and good in proving the non existent phone numbers to the customers. It is a shame on such reputed company.

I will not recommend Gilma to any one in future, if the solar heating system is not fixed with time frame work I have no choice to lodge complaint with the Police department.

I purchased my Gilma complaint two years ago. For the past eight months, I am receiving pathetic support from your service centre located at Rajajinagar, Bangalore. The lights of the chimney are fused and need replacement. I have a ref # H923 which was raised on 13.01.09 for replacement of the lights. However, it was converted to a servicing complaint and someone came and serviced the chimney at a cost of Rs.350/-. I was informed there is no stock of lights then and somebody will inform me once they have received fresh stock. However, no calls were received and again in the month of April this year, an engineer visited my place and took both the lights with a confirmation that they will be replaced in two days time. No replacements have been done so far. I again called the service centre today who has informed they will be replaced tomorrow, which I am very sure will never happen.

I strongly recommend new chimney buyers never to buy a Gilma product so that they also don't fall into this loop of poor and pathetic service.
My initial impression with GILMA Product was good because I could see nice outlet, high sounding commitment and I purchased one Chimney on 30th May, 08. Initially it worked OK for 5/6 months than it's one component was broken by its own. Since January, 09 we are complaining but no one is attending call. In January once only one technician came and told that it is beyond repair and since than we are following up almost every day on [protected] with a lady call Neeta. Mr.Shekhar who is said to be Head of is most irresponsible. Mr.Arvind ([protected]) who will also never attend your call. Put together HOPELESS.

Service is non existant. If at all their would be service you can expect it. I don't know what to tell about this company.
