[Resolved]  GoAir — Refund of ticket cancellation

On 24-June-2009, I had booked a ticket on GoAir flight G8452 for 19-July-2009 (from Cochin to Mumbai) via credit card. Subsequently, I had to cancel my travel plan and cancelled the ticket through Internet on 14-July-2009. Cancellation charges of Rs. 750/- have been deducted; however, GoAir has only issued a voucher (valid upto 14-July-2010) instead of refunding the balance amount of Rs. 2721/- to the credit card account.

This is a fraud as the GoAir ticket does not make a mention of this type of voucher or credit note. Now, I have to pay the bank for the credit card transaction (for total amount of Rs. 3471/-) but GoAir retains the balance amount of Rs. 2721/- as well as the cancellation charge of Rs. 750/-. Kindly take necessary action to get the money (rs. 2721/-) refunded as my money is unnecessarily blocked by the airline. Such sort of cheating is just not acceptable to me.

I to would advise people to stay away from flying on Go Air. They lost (I believe an employee stole, long story) my bag that was worth over Rs 150, 000. After over three months of trying to get some help or answers they are offering my Rs 2000 and since they can't get it to me in the USA they want to give me travel vouchers. It's been a nightmare working with them. Although the flights were fine, I'd never fly with them again because of my experience with their customer service when something goes wrong. I can forgive and look past service defects (lost/stole bag) if they are willing to do something to try and make it right but that is the last thing they've done for me. They've been super slow to respond to anything, they won't give you any numbers or other people to talk to and they never once tried to contact me as they promised over and over again. Don't Fly Go Air!
We booked two tickets from cochin to bombay PNR No: ONHEH2 on 01 july 2015 for Rs. 6282/-. And the ticket was cancelled on 7 july 2015. but we received only RS. 3564 as refund. We don't understand what is the reason. We are not getting any report about the cancellation or refund structure. We lost Rs. 3130/- in 7 days. This is unacceptable from an airline like GoAir. So take immediate action or give us the explanation.
Never trust this airline and staff commitment.
Today the flight cancelled delhi to srinagar we asked for the full refund as per todays price or arrange tickets to some other flight the simply denied.And telling the customer if you want to shout then go on road and shout.

The worst staff and cancellation policy I have ever seen.

sir, i was canceled my air ticket PNR -NJS537 as on 26/01/2017 but the fare has been not refunded till now.

I do not understand why the cancellation charges for a flight booking is so high. Even if the tickets are cancelled before a month are being charged around Rs. 2225/- . I do not understand this logic.

I had booked a GoAir ticket through makemytrip app and there the instruction was that only 300/- cancellation charges will be applied but when i cancelled the ticket i got a call from makemy trip that the cancellation charge from makemytrip is 300/- and GoAir cancellation charge is 2225/- .

I do not under on what basis this much of amount is being charged for cancellation.
I need to cancel my domestic flight ticket due to the lockdown in the country. There is no option for cancellation on the website and no help from anywhere. No one is answering the calls at the helpline center. My emails have not been answered. How do I proceed?
