Hi,
I had taken a Senior Citizens' Red Carpet Insurance for my father ( policy number - P/161112/2009/001369 ). The policy entitled him cashless admission to any authorized hospital. On 12th of April 2009 my father was admitted to Max Super Speciality Hosptial, Saket, New Delhi as he complained of sever dehydration and vomit. On reaching hospital he was admitted and the TPA desk had informed the Insurance Company (Star Health & Allied Insurance Company) about the same. The ordeal began when we started following up for our case. From 12th April to 14th April 2009 we spoke to the following people but no one bothered to help us and finally we ended up paying money from our pocket. The list of people is given below
1> Mr.Rajkumar (Chennai Customer Care - Star Health)
2> Ms. Kaveri (Chennai Customer Care - Star Health)
3> Mr. Mahesh (Chennai Customer Care - Star Health)
4> Mr. Abhinav Misra (Sales Manager - Delhi Branch - [protected])
5> Mr. Satpal Singh (Delhi Office)
Even after following up for 2 days no intimation was sent to hospital. One of the doctor's from Star Health (Dr. Mrs. Gupta) had checked my father and submitted the report on 12th April itself. We had send all relevant details (bills, prescriptions) to local Delhi office and Chennai office (confirmation of receipt was given by both the offices). To add to the ordeal all the officers turned a blind eye to our case and on insistence told us that since it's a National Holiday it is our privilege that they are atleast talking to us.
Finally when my father was discharged we had to pay a bill of 16, 500 from our pocket. I would appeal if there is law to reprimand such act that all these guys should be penalised and so should be their seniors, so that this kind of thing isn't repeated. I feel humiliated and frustrated at the end of everything and hope some justice would be provided.
Also including in the list of people who turned a deaf ear to our case was
Mr.Rajeev Jain ( Star Health - Delhi Office - [protected])
Mr. Tapas Dey (Star Health - Delhi Office[protected]
Patient's Details:-
Name - Mr.R.S.Raina
Claim Number - 1373
Policy Number - P/161112/2009/001369
Total Bill - 16, 213.21 (Sixteen Thousand Two Hundred & Thirteen Rupees, 21 paise)
Regards
Himanshu Raina
