[Resolved]  steel — Non-payment of salary to Libya Plant of GSHL employees by Mr. P.K. Mittal

To,
Her Excellency honorable Ambassador of India
Indian embassy, Tripoli
Libya

Sub: Non payment of salaries of GSHL employees and harassment by management

Her highness,

In continuation to our letter dated[protected] and our meeting with you on date 15th March regarding the subject matter, We all employees of GSHL like to inform you the developments which took place afterwards:
1- On 15th March 2009, there was meeting called by management with selected employees and agreement was reached that employees shall be paid salaries in phased manner as below:
a. One salary to be paid in cash on 17th March 09- which was subsequently paid by them on 19th March09.
b. One salary to be sent by 22nd March 09 to respective banks- which has been sent to only few employees (not paid to all)
c. One salary to be sent to respective banks by End of March 2009 or at the most by 4th April 09 - for which now management has informed that it may be sent only after 8th April 09
d. Two salaries to be paid in April 2009
e. All salaries to be streamlined by July 2009
2- As advised by you and subsequent agreement reached between employees and management, we avoided path of confrontation and continued our work as usual.
3- But, in spite of reaching this agreement, management vide letters dated 16th March 2009 issued warning to all o[censored]s who came to Tripoli to meet you and they marked us absent for that day. But in better interest of organization we did not react and kept silent.
4- Again on date 26th March, defying the agreement reached, management terminated services of four employees who were demanding payment of salaries.
5- The termination letters were issued after duty hours on Thursday 26th March09. Friday and Saturday being off days for embassy, information could not be given by us to embassy.
6- In view of this unfortunate frustrating incident, 95 employees stopped the work on 28th March 09 to protest the unjustified orders and demanded following :
a. Revoking termination letters of all the four employees
b. Payment of all the dues till date
7- In the wake of total work stopped, management took back the termination orders but still not ready to pay salaries.
Madam, we would like to reiterate that employees never wanted to go on path of confrontation, but management created mistrust and unhealthy environment and now employees have lost faith in any commitment made by management of GSHL and have made it clear to management that work shall be resumed only when all the dues (including salaries, incentives, leave travel allowance etc) are cleared in total.
We would like to inform her Excellency that employees always wanted to work peacefully, but management provoked to go on confrontation path. The management of GSHL is totally responsible for the ugly situation at present. We request to protect us against unfair practices being exercised by GSHL management. And also need immunity against any possible brutal action by management.

This is for your kind information please.
Regards,
All employees of GSHL

Each and every word is true. GSHL has never paid salaries in time. Also the fate of employees who have resigned and come back to India is much worse as their F&F dues are held up indefinitely with no assurances from mgt
I am still waiting for F&F though i came back to india last year in the month of May, after serving Sincerely, honestly and whole heartedly for 4years and 7 months. during our service GSHL got Base to stand and flurish in Libya. But GSHL management forgotten all the hardwork carried out by us and rewarded in this ungratefull manner. Thanks for the GSHL management to recognising our true efforts.

Promoters of Ispat group are cheat. They robbed investors & bankers & employees. I think Indian Govt has given them license to cheat
Yes, This is one of the worst management i see. I worked in Libya for GSHL for 3.5 years. My final settlement amount is still pending since march 2008. Nobody is replying to our mails. Indian government should take action against ispat management. They are also to be treated like satyam ramalingam raju as he looted the investers money mittal looted the employees money.I hopeat least indian govern ment will take some strict action against these thiefs.
ISPAT group is big cheater. They are making fool of people. The management want to get the work without paying.I working for GSHL ISPAT libya for nearly 3.5 years as an engineer and resigned in 2007 dec.I am still waiting for my dues, final settlements.Indian government should take strict action against the group and help people to get their dues.
Agree with the views of complainants.Employees have turned around the fate of the contract and the company has earned a lot.Not paying salary and the final payment is very bad. This should be looked into by the Indian authority and the company should be compelled to settle the dues at an early date.

I would like to tell, it is problem of Indian government. They have to initiate serious action against them. They have to sieze thier property.
GSHL not surviving by attractive remuneration. It is by LN Mittal name.
I hope LN Mittal should advice his brothers PKM & VKM about business etiquette and people power.
Better we can take up with some Politician, who can use it for thier publicity and resolve this problem.
Otherwise this story will be never ending.
One more Ramlinga brothers are coming up. (By cheating employees)
With best regards
Saravanan

We, the 117 Indian expatriate staff of Delta Steel Company PLC, Warri, Delta State, Nigeria request for your attention on following points:

1) We have been recruited by M/s Global Steel Holding Limited in India and posted in Delta steel company, Nigeria. We have an outstanding of 11 months’ salary and allowances.
2) We are kept here like bonded laborer, no proper food, no Electricity & water in township and no medical facility as well. There are also security threats. The company is taking advantage of our patience and our repeated requests made from time to time to the competent authorities are never heeded.
3) We are starving here and our families are starving in India. All our savings are depleted in maintaining our family in India.
4) Even as we suffer such persecution at the hands of an insensitive management, the chairman Mr. P. K. Mittal (Brother of Steel tycoon Mr. L. N. Mittal ) refuses to lend an ear to our state, though he is fully aware of it, and continues to concentrate on his 3 companies in India-

(i) Gontermann Peipers (India),
PO – Pailan, Diamond Harbour Road
24 Parganas (S), West Bengal

(ii) Balasore Alloys
Bal Gopalpur – Orissa

(iii) PSSPL,
Casablanca Bldg. Sec - 11
CBD Belapur – Navi Mumbai

We have been recruited in India through PSSPL, Navi Mumbai (Corporate Office in India)
headed by Mr.Vipul Saxena – VP (HR) which has now turned out into a fraud as we have been deprived of our salaries for the period which we served for the company. The actual conditions of Delta Steel Company, Nigeria were never been informed to the people joining their organization. During the span of our protest regarding disbursement of our salaries, Mr. Saxena had visited the company in Nigeria several times and promised to solve all our issues which gradually turned into false commitments.

We have approached our Indian high Commission at Abuja, Ministry of Indian Overseas Affairs, Prime Minister office, H.E. President of India, Member of Parliaments, National Human Rights Commission, Protector General of Immigration and other concerned agencies in India for justice. But we are feeling very helpless as no action has been taken so far.

We have even personally approached & submitted our petitions to the following offices in Nigeria and India :
i) H.E.President of Federal Republic of Nigeria
ii) Indian High Commission, Nigeria
iii) Secretary to Federal Government, Nigeria
iv) Ministry of External Affairs, India
v) Senate President, National Assembly, Nigeria
vi) Public Complaints Commission (PCC/HQ/2012/N.1/1)
vii) Comptroller General of Immigration, Nigeria
viii) Economic & Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nigeria
ix) International Labor Organization
x) British High Commission, Nigeria
xi) National Human Rights Commission (C/2011/2428/HQ)
xii) Press Trust of India (PTI), India
xiii) News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Nigeria
xiv) Electronic Media- TV channels (NTA, AIF, Channel), Nigeria
We have sent three of our representative to High Commission, Nigeria since 22nd Dec’11 and we are still awaiting for any positive response that could end our problems. What only they have done is to forward our issue to The Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs.

The office address of M/S Global Steel Holding Limited is as follows.

Ist Floor, Murdoch House, North Shore Road, Ramsey, Isle of Man, IM8 3DY.
Our Company’s Chairman is Mr.Pramod Kumar Mittal and He is a British Citizen and staying in London and he is brother of steel tycoon Mr.L.N.Mittal and his contact details are : -

The top management of the Company as failed to give us any fruitful outcome regarding our concern, turning out to be directly responsible for our present situation.
(Most of the above mentioned Top executives left for India and we are in deep trouble now.)

The story has been covered by many news papers & web portals in Nigeria as well as India as mentioned below.
