People buy train tickets well in advance of about 15 to 20 days or even 30 days before the journey date. Indian Railways is issuing tickets 90 days in advance also but what is the use of buying tickets in advance standing in long queues and hours together to get a wait-listed ticket, which we are not sure about confirmation until they are. But people buying tatkal tickets just 2 days before the journey shedding extra amount are getting confirmed tickets. I strongly condemn this. Tatkal means going on the journey without any prior plans or planned on the last moment of departure. Is buying a ticket 2 days in advance a TATKAL? If Indian Railways want to make more money, they have to add extra bogies according to the number of tatkal tickets they are selling or a separate train itself. Indian Railways should stop selling 25% of the seats on tatkal scheme and creating problems for general quota tickets. Was this information helpful? |
