[Resolved]  Zen Estilo — Complaint about the sales team at Queens Road

I would like to give a feedback about Pratham Motors located on Quees Road:

When I went in for the initial enquiry about your cars, I had got the best in class service and every query of mine was answered promptly and well on time. I must say the Sales Rep Vijay (Mobile no [protected]) was very helpful until we booked the car.

When we finally decided to buy a car from them (due to the constant follow up by Vijay, else we would have booked the Car in Mondovi motors whose showroom is just about a Kilometer away from my house) in the last week of Dec, I was told about the corporate offer wherein I would get Rs 29,000/- discount on the down payment if I book a Zen Estilo before 31st Dec with extra benefits mentioned below with a promised delivery date of 02 Jan 08

Center locking ( Paid )
Pansonic system with 4 speakers (Paid)
Door mats
Slide beading
Mud flap
Sun film
Car backing alarm

Right from the day one we were particular about Silver colour Car and when my family went to book the car, they (Vijay and other executives) said Maruthi didn’t have Silver Colour Cars itself in its stock and were trying to push other colours though they knew our specifications. - After a small tiff, they finally agreed to get us the Silver colour car and promised the Delivery Date of 02nd Jan 2008(Just to let you know it was an auspicious day for us and we wanted the delivery on the same day) and we went ahead and made a down payment of Rs 1,18,000 (appox)

They promised to deliver the car on 02 Jan 08 at around 6:30 pm. I receive a call from Vijay who breaks the news that our Brand New Car was damaged while doing the Pre Delivery Test and that he cannot give us the Silver Colour car (but however quiet surprisingly he was ready to sell any other colour car to us)

The efficiency of your guys to make a fool out o[censored]s was amazing.I mean we were quiet surprised at their skills..They said that there are no Silver colour cars available in the market...Well; we felt that they were just trying to acheive their monthly or yearly targets and did not even want to cater to their customer needs...

I had personally walked in to the show room on the 02 Jan and spoke to Chudadhar and wanted to check the damaged car’s engine number and he got some sheet and showed me the engine number which belonged to some Mr. Satish. I had no option but to believe and he assured that as the car was damaged from Pratham’s end the same offer will hold good and was promised delivery after 5-7 days. I had made the complete payment with out the feel of the car for 17 days

The story does not end here.....

Then you have your Sales Rep Mr. Vijay who calls us on 14th Jan 2008 to tell us that the discount offer of Rs.29000/- which was intially offered to us was no more valid (though we booked the Car on 31/12/2007-until when the offer was very much valid!!!) and that we had to shell out Rs.10,000.After an hour's debate they finally agreed to give me the same offer when we said we would sue them (maybe that was the last option left with us)

Then came the Delivery day (17 Jan 08) wherein there was again a new problem, the Processing fees was charged to us twice. Once, the Executive from Sundaram Finance collected it with a promise that Pratham Motors would refund the amount and the other was we were already charged for it during our Dowm payment. When we spoke about this to Chudadhar, he told that he would not refund the same.Again after debates and talks he agrees to refund the amount and would credit the same to bank account.

Well even this did not happen, and Vijay drops into my Office and tells me that the amount of Rs.1200/- would not be refunded by the company and that he is paying out his pocket (well what he does not realise is that fact the money is as dear to me as it is for him and I dont see a reason why I sholud make a double payment)

The trouble does not end here...

After using my car for a couple of days, I realised that the speakers at the Back door are not functioning. I immediately called Vijay and informed about the same and was told at the time of first service the same will be checked. I came to the showroom on 18 Jan 08 and to my surprise I find out that there are no Speakers fixed for it to function. Here I am once again fooled by your people...

After all this, I finally lost my patience and wanted to report the matter to the Branch Manager and sort the isse but I was directed to some Team Leaders who were present there. I spoke to someone called Arun (supposedly a team leader who had no authority to take any decisions and that our efficicent Sales Reps Mr.Vijay was out and Mr.Chudadhar were on leave).Although he promised that Chudadhar will call me on 21st Feb to give me an update, nothing of that sort happened.

We met Vijay outside the showroom and explained the problem and he told that he has already made a favour to us by paying Rs 10,000 (he told that Pratham made him pay Rs 10,000 so that we could get the corporate offer.) and Rs 1,200 (Processing fee)

Then I walked into the Showroom again (well I had made the Mistake of Choosing Maruti over other brands, so had to pay a price for it!!!) just to notice that all the executives are trying to look away or pretend busy… I spoke to Chudadhar who told will call me on Monday (25 Feb 08). I’m still waiting for his call……

There was this only guy Vivek, Corporate Sales manager who offered to help me and told me he will look into this. He was only one from the entire lot who took ownership and gave correct information and offered to call back and promptly did so as well and guided me to write a mail about all the problems I faced with Pratham Motors.

Well one thing I strongly want to state is that its just not important to push up sales, but more important to keep your customers happy...Afterall we are the people who carry your Brand Name around. And believe me after these lovely experiences, I would definitely not recomend a Maruti Car to anyone.

After all this, if things still don't fall in place for me,then my next plan of action would be to deal with Pratham Motors legally...

Regards,
Smitha

After reading all these complaints, I am not at all in the mood to go for a Maruti Car. At present I own a Maruti 800 which I bought from local Maruti dealer under their True Value scheme. Now I am planning to exchange it for a new car. But as I already said, the feedback from all these gentlemen compels me to think again and again...before taking a decision to exchange my old car for a New Maruti Zen Estilo or Maruti Wagon R. Now I think I shall contact Hyundai or Chevrolet for exchanging my old car.
