Sir, Please be informed that I had booked ticket from Patna to Anand Bihar Terminal(ANVT) in Lakhisarai. When i booked ticket it was in WL status. On Journey date 17th of june after chart preparation ticket was still in WL. When I went for cancellation in Lakhisarai at 1:50 PM, they denied to cancel the ticket and kept arguing for few minutes. After that at 2:00 PM they told the counter is closed and they can not help us. Then i went to Patna via road just to cancel my ticket and reached Patna reservation office at 5:30. When i reached to booking clerk(counter no 6) he also denied to cancel my ticket telling that train is already departed so ticket can't be cancelled. But as per below rule one can cancel the ticket up to three hours departure of the train : If a Waitlisted/RAC ticket is presented for cancellation, refund of fare shall be admissible after deducting the clerkage. (i) The ticket is presented for cancellation upto three hours after the actual departure of the train irrespective of the distance. (ii) The passenger may get the tickets cancelled from any PRS counters or the designated current counters. (iii) No refund of fare shall be granted on RAC ticket /Waitlisted ticket after three hours of the actual departure of the train. Kindly let me know if above information is correct. Also please let me know how do i get my money back now. Also let me know that if a counter is closed on a day before the departure of the train can we get our ticket cancel on the very next day morning when office opens.
