The tax payee retired in October 2012. For the financial year,[protected] and assessment year[protected], the tax was deducted and paid by the tax payee's Govt organization. For the financial year,[protected] and assessment year[protected], the tax was paid by the tax payee himself as Self assessment tax through the bank. But while doing so, the bank made a mistake in paying with assessment year[protected] rather than[protected]. There has been many emails, online tax form submission and posts sent to the income tax department to get this fixed. Basically,[protected] assessment year has extra tax paid which has to be refunded and[protected] assessment year shows pending tax payment. ITR1 form for AY 2013-14 reflects the tax amount paid. But, till date there is no action that's been taken. The tax payee still gets emails and posts saying there is pending payment for assessment year[protected]. ITO hasn't responded to the tax adjustment issue. We have been getting reminders after reminders for the past 8 years regarding the pending tax payment. We have communicated to the IT department many times but no fruitful response. There has been multiple communication stating "Tax for AY[protected] was not paid". But, there has been no communication regarding the refund for the extra tax that was deducted for AY[protected]. But, the demand is still shown as outstanding. This is incorrect. On top of all this, the refund for AY2020-21 was adjusted against this demand. Need to cancel the demand and to provide refund. Please do the needful ASAP.
