This is regarding my ticket booking from Male to Chennai for 24th of April. The booking was done through Goibibo.

I raised a name correction request yesterday through Goibibo to Change my last name on the ticket from "Vandhirajan" to "Vadhirajan". During ticket booking, there was a typo mistake that caused the last name spelling error. The correct last name is "Vadhirajan".
Received an email from the travel agent that the Srilankan airlines has rejected this last name spelling change request and that I would not be allowed to travel. It looks like I'm somehow being forced to cancel my ticket so that the airlines can make profit out of cancellation. I would incur a Rs 9K loss which would force me to publish my bad experience with the airlines in public forums and social media sites(Twitter, fb etc).

The above error is a very common typo error which can be easily corrected by the airline's team. Not accepting this typo spelling correction is a huge loss for customers like us and it is creating a very bad experience and wouldn't put up a good image for Established Srilankan airlines.
I would request the Airlines team to take this request up and correct the last name (typo error) after verifying my passport and help us have a wonderful travel experience. Was this information helpful? |
