I am raising this complaint against S.P. Mandali's Prin. L.N. Welingkar Institute of Management Development & Research, Mumbai.I had paid the first installment fees of 354006(Three lakhs fifty four thousand and six rupees) on 20 July 2023.As per AICTE norms, I had applied for cancellation/refund of my admission on 8 th of September 2023 before the deadline as mentioned in the AICTE rulebook for 2023.The college has returned only 236333(Two lakhs thirty six thousand three hundred and thirty three rupees) as refund, deducting 117673(one lakh seventeen thousand six hundred and seventy three rupees) as cancellation charges. As per AICTE guidelines only 1000 rupees is meant to be deducted as cancellation charges, but in spite of requesting multiple times through emails and calls, the college is not refunding the rest of the money.I haven't been to campus even once nor attended a single lecture neither stayed a single day at hostel.
As I belong to a very poor family, I am requesting Consumer Court to look into this matter and give me justice.Following are my details :_

With reference to the refund of Fee Policy, we would like to state that as per AICTE Process Hand Book 2023-24 –
“In case, if a student leaves after joining the Course and if the vacated seat is consequently filled by another student by the last date of admission, the Institution must refund the Fee collected after a deduction of the processing Fee of not more than ₹1000/- (Rupees One Thousand only) and proportionate deductions of monthly Fee and hostel rent, where applicable”
Our PGDM Batch for Academic Year 2023-24, commenced on August 2nd, 2023 (Mumbai) and August 3rd, 2023 (Bengaluru).
If any student cancelled his / her admission after the commencement of the course, as per the AICTE’s rule we deducted Rs. 1000/-, as processing fee + proportionate deduction of monthly fee and hostel rent (if applicable) from his total fees. Details of it is as below:

If any student cancelled his/her admission after one month from the start of the course and before cut-off date for refund of fee i.e., 15th Sept, 2023 and seat is filled subsequent, then the deduction is double (for two months, proportionate deductions of monthly Fee and hostel rent), calculated, as per the table given above.
Please note that there shall not be any refund after the Cut-off date i.e., 15th Sept. 2023
