I purchased a Yamaha Fascion on 15th Nov 2021 from Shivaji Motors, Kaimanam, Trivandrum, Kerala with vehicle number: KL 74 B 6835, Engine Number: E33SE0072276 and Frame Number: MEISEJ24AM0013776
The vehicle was running smoothly until a problem with the battery occurred in August 2022. The vehicle's self start was not working and I had to use the kicker to start the vehicle. I took it to the service station at Angels Motors, Malayinkeezhu, Trivandrum, Kerala during the 3rd service on August 19, 2022. The technician did the service and checked the battery and auto on/off switch and said everything is clear.
Again, after some weeks the same issue occurred and it got randomly repeated. Since I was out of station, I was not able to take it to the service station. On the next service on 8th December 2022, I took it again to the service station and they said the battery is down and they will charge the battery and fix the issue. I asked them regarding battery replacement since it was one year after the purchase, but the service technician said that the battery charging will fix the issue. I got the bike back on 13th December, 2022 with the battery charged back and it was working smoothly again.
I was then out of station on my vacation for 1 week and when I came back on 3rd January 2023, the battery completely drained and the vehicle did not start. I had to use the kicker to start again.
I took the vehicle to the service station, they inspected it and said that the battery is gone and now I need to replace the battery. But unfortunately, since it's been one year since purchase, they can't do anything and I had to pay for the battery replacement.
This seems very unprofessional and unacceptable because I reported the battery issue on August 19, 2022 which was well within one year of my purchase and I had to wait till the battery completely got drained to replace it. The technicians should have informed me this before and told me the resolution and should not have waited for my warranty period to be over.
Also, the service manager said that the bluetooth module is the one which is causing the issue and I should disconnect it. This seems weird, if the bluetooth is causing the battery drain, why would Yamaha produce a vehicle with a bluetooth module. This is not acceptable from a reputed company like Yamaha.
I did have 3-4 different bikes from different manufactures where I did not encounter any of these battery issues for a newly purchased vehicle.
I would like to know what the resolution is for this. Expecting your reply at the earliest.
