I have an upcoming travel to jaipur later this month (March 2020). With corona virus (Covid-19) becoming a serious health threat and since i will be traveling with my 1 year old kid, i would like to cancel my reservation.
Despite multiple efforts trying to explain my situation to customer support on the phone, email and through the automated system ava i have been asked to pay a hefty cancellation fee (Approx. ₹3000 per person per leg - which is almost the same as the ticket price).in addition, the customer support agents have been rude and insensitive.
In light of several other airlines waiving cancellation fee, i called air asia support again to see if there is a similar update with air asia too. Sadly no.
I requested if, instead of cash refund, i can receive a full refund as airline credits that i can use for a future travel with air asia when the covid-19 situation improves. That was also denied.
