Chennai: A Man who was involved in chit fund business has absconded with his family members, after allegedly cheating his customers to the tune of Rs 2 crores.

Sources said K R Sankaran Nair, wife S Priya and Ruthrpathi N a resident of Velachery in the city, was running chits for the past some years.

Many people in the locality were their customers and had invested their hard-earned money. Lately, it is said K R Sankaran Nair had been delaying payments to investors and was giving evasive replies.

Meanwhile, customers found their house locked and their mobile phone switched off. They were unable to contact the family members as well.

Customers of K R Sankaran Nair, who were in a state of shock, thronged the house and expressed agony.
