We usually order medicines from various Chemists, in and around our residential society. One of the names, that comes into prominence is Apollo Pharmacy. They have a good system of registering a consumer using cards, and thus the customer can order medicines based on the card. This also ensures a discount of about 10% on the medicines which gets accumulated over time and can be redeemed as and when required. But, it seems that the franchise does no checks on the types of people they employ. Case in point medicines that were ordered from the Apollo Pharmacy, in Mayur Vihar Phase-1 (reference: Market near the Hindustan Times Apartments). There were a number of medicines ordered, as we need them regularly. We always do our customary check of the bill sent and the actual medicines that have been received by us. Of the various medicines that were mentioned in the Bill, 4 were missing totally. When we called in the carrier boy and showed him, he looked puzzled, as there were definitely 4 medicines missing. When we called the Apollo Pharmacy outlet (No. [protected]), the person on the phone, identified as Devender by the Carrier boy, was pretty adamant that all the mentioned medicines were checked, packed and sent correctly. Even after reasoning with him that we needed the medicines on a long term basis and not just 1 but there were 4 missing, he became rude and started implying that they have definitely sent the medicines correctly, meaning that we might have removed some of them. The question that comes to mind here is that, if we are looking for a long-term understanding with Apollo Pharmacy, why should we remove the medicines? Even after this behavior was reported to the shop Supervisor (No. [protected]), it seemed that this person was non-repentant. The Supervisor assured us that he would check and get the issue resolved and then revert back to us soon, and also send us the medicines.
The point to note here is, if the medicines were packed, how come 4 different kinds were missing, not in small numbers (like just 10 if 30 were ordered) but totally from the whole pack? If the medicines were mistakenly taken out, why did not anyone own to the fact? Over and above that, why should the person on phone be so adamant and rude, when clearly it could be seen, that there were actually 4 of them missing completely. The said person on the phone was even offered to come over to the residence and check the lot, where the carrier boy would keep the medicines and no changes would be done to them, but he refused. This showed that there was something fishy in the whole transaction. Also, he sent us some other wrong medicine, even after being updated on phone, that we cannot accept them, the medicines being sensitive for us. Where is the efficiency of the people involved, and over and above that why should there be rudeness and adamant behaviour? As it is we do not have any personal enmity with anyone and would like to associate on a long term basis. When I am ordering medicines and paying the proper amount, I expect them to be delivered properly and spoken to courteously.
When the Supervisor was called later, a number of times, his phone was stated to be Switched off. When the other number was tried again, we were rudely told to get our medicines from some other Chemist. Seems, that such people do wrong and then try to justify it!! Was this information helpful? |
