This is what you as representative is saying. However in reality pharmacy says that once they cut the strip the rest can go waste if there are no buyers for just a few tablets rather than full strip. So they refuse to give spare tablet. This is even true for general prescription medicine. The only issue comes when pharmacist is required to issue those true prescription medicines like psychiatric ones for which they are skeptical about releasing the full strip. These are only exceptions where they will cut the strip even if it's just one tablet prescribed.

If doctor prescribes you a prescription medicine then even if doctor has prescribed just 2 tablets, they will cut out 2 and give you.
By prescription medicine I mean those that are not available over the counter & for which the pharmacist is required to stamp the release of the tablets on the prescription.
Look for those smaller chemists in your area that can offer you only the intended number of tablets. I have done the same thing. e.g. I keep spare tablets 2 - 3 each of some common medicines but don't stock full stripe as it could get wasted in the process.
