I bought my bike 2 months ago and started facing this issue or noticing it after 5 days itself. The lower part of the fuel tank on its sides where the thighs rest gets heated too much after parking the bike for 15-20mins after even a bare ride of 5-10mins.
The top of the tank is totally cool all along and when i park, the sides are cool too. But after 15-20 mins they start to heat up and after 40-45mins they reach their peak of hotness where they even burn the thighs even when im wearing denim jeans.
On consulting with the service center, they told me that there was a wire disturbed which caused it and they corrected it but after that, it started getting more hot and it was more than ever noticeable.
The other service men told me that it was due to the engine design where the engine came almost into the tank design and after parking, the radiation from the engine caused the lower tank to heat up.
Is it designed to be so? Should this be happening? Is it normal for the tank to heat up? Is it a design flaw?
Will this ever cause my bike to catch on fire like the viral videos of other automobiles catching up on fire out of nowhere? Was this information helpful? |
