Subject: Complaint from BWSSB Consumer Name D E Vinoda w.r.t Wrong Billing in spite of submitting multiple requests in written at AEE (NW-1) Office, Rajajinagar Bangalore.
Respected Sir/Madam,
We have a BWSSB water connection in the name of D E Vinoda (Water Consumer RR No. W-217042). As she is an elderly person, she had given an ECS instruction through Vijay Bank for autopayment of bills.
She had closed her bank account in Oct 2020 as she could manage. Due to national banks merger then, there were integration issues and it resulted in unsuccessful payments. However, BWSSB systems got updated as payment received.
We volunteered to report this to BWSSB that bill payments weren't happening in spite of their records showed "no due" or "Paid" from our end as we didn't want to lose a water connection due to miscommunication or systems beyond our control.
After multiple visits to AEE (NW-1) office in Rajajinagar since June 2021, we managed to convince the BWSSB officials to reconcile and issue a statement of dues to be cleared. As per their statement issued on 18th Aug 2021, we have paid 11, 865 INR on 1st Sep 2021 through Bangalore One (Receipt No. B-1338W-2170420900109219165784) and this in addition to the interim payment of additional dues of amount worth 9, 469 INR, paid on 29th Jul 2021 through Bangalore One (Receipt No. B-1338W-2170420702907218974909).
Issue of Concern:
1. BWSSB had started showing these amounts as advanced paid and it further complicated the billing.
2. BWSSB has been incorrectly charging Surchare for Borewell (300 INR per month), when we repeated corrected them that we do not have a borewell.
We kept clearing the dues as it gets billed and submitted a written request (acknowledged by BWSSB) on the above to be addressed on 30th Oct 2021. It is not addressed and we are made to follow up till date. We have the latest billing for Nov month issued on 18th Dec 2021 and it had the aforesaid listed issues.
In spite of we being open and diligent clearing all the dues till date though (it’s incorrectly billed), we feel BWSSB is very unprofessional in their approach in taking timely action. It’s a cause of grievance and feel helpless. In the tough situations like Covid, we feel unsafe to often visit BWSSB office in person with no outcome.
We request your intervention and support in addressing this issue and also adjusting the incorrectly billed surcharge for Borewell, till date.
