Dear Sir/Madam,
With reference to the subject, I would like to bring to your attention about the issues faced due to negligent and unethical behaviour of BWSSB meter reading personnel in sub division S1.
We are facing the following issues from the past few months:
1. We have requested the meter reading staff multiple times to provide the bills to by fixing in the door latch or dropping in letter box.
2. We request the BWSSB personnel to close the gate after reading the meter but unfortunately they do not close the gates which leads to stray dogs coming inside our compound.
Despite multiple requests and polite explanations, we see that the attitude of BWSSB meter reading staff is the same.
On 13-Dec-2021, we have requested and had a discussion with them regarding these issues, the staff gave the following replies:
1. The meter staff are on field duty to cover more than 2, 000 houses and hence they cannot close the gates in a proper manner for all houses.
2. We customers are complaining because our intentions are not correct.

Furthermore, we request you to bring some changes in the meter reading process so that the whole hassle for consumers and BWSSB staff can be avoided at best.
We could suggest the following to be implemented gradually.
1. More consumers are nowadays opting for online bill-payment. This has also increased during the COVID pandemic. As bills are available online, the meter system can be changed so that manual work to provide the bills can be avoided.
2. Consumer address and communication are also updated in BWSSB records and hence the bills could be sent through post which would also reduce the manual work for BWSSB.
We would also like to highlight on behalf of the residents of Eshwara Layout that our intention is not negative (as suggested by the staff) but it is purely to suggest best customer practices from our end and also BWSSB staff's end
We request your goodselves to look into the matter and encourage the BWSSB staff to be more considerate in this regard and oblige.
