Hi,
I have worked with Barclays Shared Services from the last 4 years. In the last two years when new staff joined as senior managers they breached proper conduct and violated civil rights of four women managers who worked under them. Complain was raised for both, however Barclays HR decided to raise concern for only one, the senior most personnel to only "get the message".
However, that's not how it worked. Two of them who were tenured moved to other verticals. Third one tried to move out however it didn't work out. I was always given a satisfactory or excellent feedback on performance however it never translated to a good rating or promotion or even appreciation formally. Those who were fair and supportive were asked to leave in one way or the other. The harassment towards me, was directed even more strongly and apparently I was suppose to leave or move to another vertical. I gave interviews however inspite of qualifying till the last round, it didn't materialise. I actively reported any issues of women colleagues to the management (as expected) however it was used against me.
I was forced and emotionally attacked to resign. When I did, I was told I was on disciplinary and that's why I am resigning. I questioned however got no straight response.
After I left there were investigation basis my email tot he CEO however those investigations were also done to safeguard the company's interest and reputation and 'save most' of the complainees.
I have not been treated fairly as an employee. I have been followed to the breakout areas and to the transport areas of the official premises by my colleagues and attempts made to marr my reputation and family background.
Even the women who complained with me in 2012 initially for the seniors involved have been shut into keeping away from me or keeping quiet about it.
Its shameful how one can lose their job and security working in an MNC in India, That too a bank that boasts of Integrity and Respect.
Please help people like me who raise concerns and are forced to exit.
Regards,
Aprajita. Was this information helpful? |
