Reg:- Complaint against the External Agency who fixes the digital meters
As per the recent decision of BWSSB the old water meters are being replaced by digital meters by an external Agency engaged by BWSSB in the entire Bangalore City. This work is being undertaken when servicing is not there(i.e., day time). After their work, when servicing is given in the night, in almost all the new fittings people are experiencing huge water leakage. While in some cases the leakage is after water passes through the meter, in some other cases it is before water enters the meter. Thus, it causes loss to either the house owner or to the BWSSB. No authority seem to have looked into this ultimate loss in otherwise useable water. It is strange as to why it has not been made mandatory for the Agency to check this aspect after servicing is given?
Secondly, in our apt. building at 113, BCC Lay Out, 1st Stage, Attiguppe, 4th Cross, Bangalore 40, while we had got the earlier meter fixed in ‘U’ form in order to ensure that the reading in the meter not to get moved by blow of air in the pipe when servicing is given, the Agency has made the new fitting straight, thereby removing all the additional fittings in ‘U’ form fitting. Strangely, the Agency has taken away the addl. fittings also. Thus, the action of the Agency has not only made us to lose our addl. fittings, but also entailed us to get increase in consumption units with out flow of water, for run of meter reading due to initial blow of air resulting at the time of servicing. Thus, for our protection, now we are required to get the fixing changed into ‘U’ form, if we want.
I have already put this query to the engineers Sri.Hanumantharaju and Sri Jayashankar of your office in Chandra Lay Out branch. But neither of them have replied so far.
Please let me have your clarification in the matter, Sir.
