My name is Milind Dhakre,
I purchased Byjus learning program for Preschool for Rs 60 thousand fully paid (converted to EMI) and received the Learning TAB with some other learning stuff on 9th July.
Trial Period was of 15 Days and I raised Cancellation request on 16th July i.e. after 7 days and well withing Trial Period.
BYJU”s has purposefully led me to exhaust the trial period and now avoiding calls and not responding over the refund process,
More details are a follows,
Byjus’ Sale executive Kashif Rahim visited my place on 3rd July, He explained the program to me and made some fake claims and promises.
He told us that Byju’s will collect the syllabus from her school, They will create/design content as per her school syllabus and upload it in the TAB, These contents will be specially curated that as per what is being and will be taught at my kids school.
My kid started Nursery 2 months back and I was doubtful about her ability to use the Learning station and learn, but Sales executive Kashif told me that the product will help her with the basic learning stuff with the help of cartons.
However I was reluctant to purchase, because My kid is having issues with linguistics and other growth issues, She is 3 yr old but still can’t speak and facing trouble executing day-to-day living and playing activities that can and are easily done by any normal 2-2.5 year-old Kid).
Kashif saw my kid with his own eyes and still he pushed us to buy it by saying “APne bacche ke liye itna b nai karsakte kya aap.. baad me cancel kardena sab hassel free process hai..!
Here Kashif had started giving us lots of false promises and misguided us regarding the program and policies.
Believing what Kashif said and wanted to see if this digital mode would help my kid start learning something + the Program can be cancelled if contents turn out to be not helpful for my kid, I decided to give it a try with the promise from Kashif that the cancellation will be hassle free and quick.
I made payment of 60, 000 (late to be converted to monthly EMI) through link sent by Kashif.
I received the TAB and some study material on 9th July, There were some mails sent by Byju’s giving information about the product. BUT NO Terms and Conditions and Cancellation process details were shared.
Everything came out as a lie and Tab came equipped with LKG+ stuff and nothing from my kids school syllabus. My kid is in Nursery that comes BEFORE LKG so the contents differs here.
My kid have got NO HELP in learning using this TAB and Byjus contents.
I shared the concern via Mentor helpline, No further response received from Byju’s on this apart from collecting feedback for the tab and Contents quality.
So I have raised requests for cancellation during TRIAL period on 16th July by calling and requesting cancellation using Mentor helpline number and discussing the same with Mentor connected (Seetha Jayapraksha). She specifically told me that I have few more days of TRIA Period left, The Cancellation request is raised, and I should keep using the trail period till then.
Also even the Mentors connected and Mentor Helpline executives also haven’t informed us about the steps to cancel the subscription but instead they inform that the cancellation request has been raised from their side.
I received few calls collecting feedback on my kids experience with the TAB and course content but After that I have received NO response or confirmation about the cancellation and refund.
I sent mail to them asking for same, then only after that I got confirmation on cancellation and Refund on mail.
On 1st AUG Buju’s executive visited my place and informed me that as per his system info my cancellation request isn’t raised by Mentor helpline and now I am not eligible for refund.. shocking..!
I dropped the mail to the Support team and called Mentor helpline again to cross check, They said they can see the request, so I requested everything on mail then only I received the confirmation on cancellation and refund.
Since then, I have called multiple times to check the status and ask for further process of refund, Everytime I got the response that Senior Manager will call me. However No One has called me so far.
It's been more than 3 weeks since the cancellation request raised, NO ONE is helping me with the further process of refund and Byju's asset submission.
In last one week only, I requested call back multiple times by reaching out to Mentor's Helpline but to my surprise, i didn't receive a single call from Byju's so far.
I am starting to feel helpless, Cheated and humiliated the way I am being treated, There was NO Transparency being maintained by anyone I got in touch with so far, especially the Sale Executive because of whom I got into this trap and all those Mentors I spoken to till now.
Sad part is that I have already been charged with 1st EMI and have to pay for the content which is not at all useful for my kid until this issue gets resolved.
Now I started going through the complaint portals, Twitter and realized that I am just another victim being one of thousands of those were cheated by BYJUS, While the Byju’s is doing and dodging this flawlessly with almost everyone who is subscribing for their program.
