Cable Tv — Set top box

I'm using cable tv from last 8-9 years or above. Now my provider (kerala vision) says that i need pay 2000 for set top box, otherwise i cant use tv channels. What much i need to pay for a set top box.. Can i use any other after market boxes instaed of this.. Thank you. Niyas [protected]

मेरे यह पहले den the bad me star ka bhi aa gya.keval 40 rs me nad me..dono me samjhita kr liya..200 per connection..ab den wala band kr gya h .star wala dobara connection ke liye 500 rs mang rha h jbki setup box pehle se hi den ka h mere pass..
Lekin vo nhi manta.ab tv 1 mahine se bnd h.ek to bhag gya..dusra dadagiri dikha rh h..
