[Resolved]  Honda Cars India Limited — Honda Brio: Clutch Slipping at 100 KM

Address: Patna, Bihar

I bought a Honda Brio VMT about a month ago and started getting problems with gear shifting at about 100 KM. I had to visit the dealer at least thrice to find out what the problem was. By this time the vehicle had done about 350 KM. Finally they said, they are able to find root cause, and that is my bad driving. Now I am driving from last 30 years and this is what I get to hear, that too from Honda, who want them to be known for quality.

If there is a problem or manufacturing defect with the vehicle they should own the problem and rectify it rather than deflecting it on to the customer.

To add to the problem, the showroom guys are saying due to improper driving the clutch plate burned. This is ridiculous to hear that a car can move from 100 to 350 km, with its clutch burned. The workshop guys (who seem genuine to me ) on the other hand told are saying the clutch is slipping and it can be because of any reason, like dirt going in while putting in oil.

Whatever the root cause, instead of rectifying that, I feel they are trying to pass the buck. By any stretch of imagination clutch slipping for car at 100 KM, for a person driving from last 30 years cannot be a problem with driving.

Posting to this forum hoping that some sense should prevail and also want to know if anyone else has faced such problem. By the way helping with problem with a vehicle is that only a dealer problem, do we buy vehicle based on name of dealer or company. In my case at least it was the name of Honda.
