Where do I begin to talk about the incompetencies shown by the hiring team of Cognizant. Two instances that I came across where it was evident that the hiring process is just plain simple pathetic.
1. Applied for tech support role in chennai in one of the branch, through a consultancy. I was scheduled after profile verification and got a date for interview. When I reached the venue they told me I can't attend the interview because stability issues without going through the conversation to reach that conclusion.Time and effort wasted.
2.Got another opportunity, again through a consultancy here in Bangalore. This time they allowed me to go through the interview and didn't seem to find any stability issue. Went through all rounds and got the confirmation message of being selected for a Web Tech Implementation Consultant role. Thats it. No further follow up on that. Hr stopped taking my calls.
Reason, two consultancies approached me for that role and the first was unable to get me an interview. Took many days but the second one told me they can get me the interview with cognizant next day, and they did. So my email reflected twice in the cognizant system. This minor issue was too tough for the HR's to understand and resolve. I have enough experience in this to say of all the companies I came across, Cognizant's Hiring team really seem mentally challenged based on how they treat a candidate and no follow ups, no explanation.
