Cognizant Technology Solutions — taking non maintenance charges

My salary account (In hdfc bank) was created in cognizant technology solutions company, but after few months i left the company and joined other company and there was no credit of salary into my hdfc bank account.
Now i want to deposit a certain amount of money in my account but when i logged in i was shocked that my account balance has been reduced to -7800 rupees!!
I am well aware that now no bank has any right to charge non maintenance charges like this.in case no action taken, i will approach banking ombudsman.

Please waive off this charges so that i can deposit my money without facing further issues.

I got a mail from hdfc stating that I had to pay 7800 rs as non maintenance charges. I got no help. I have filed complaint on banking ombudsman. Can I hope to get help from your side ? Such illegal imposition of charges on your customers is really very disappointing.
