Now a days even single bedroom is being rented for Rs.4,000/- per month in Chennai.

Government should take necessary action at the earliest. Otherwise middle income group cannot survive in Chennai.

The owner N.Venkatesh, 6th Cross, 6th Street, Shastri Nagar, Adyar, Chennai has increased the rent for a 1 BHK flat, just 500 sq.feet, from Rs.7500 to Rs.10000.He shamelessly says go if you cant pay, I will get even 12k for it.He is openly cheating all tenants in the building.Last month he said Rs.9k and this month he says Rs.10k.Says he will increase every month if he wants.This is blatant cheating and harassment of tenants

Is there a consumer court for tenants or is this city only for house owners who squeeze hefty sum as advance deposit from tenants and harass them as they want?

Yes, I'm in 2nd Cross Street, natesan nagar, Ramapuram, Chennai 89. My house owner also do same thing. Actually she get rent for per month 4800.00, and EB charge per unit 4.00 rupees, Ground water & Corpration water get 100.00 rupees per month. and also when we leave the home pay the white wash amount. and must be switch on the light in front of gate evening 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm it is manitery. she didn't give the rent recept. because she didnt pay the Income tax.

Now a days tenants are at the mercy of Landlords.No landlord issues rent receipt.My landlord is harassing me in the same manner.Not issuing rent receipts, not maintaining the premises clean eventhough collects maintenance charges every month.Eventhough I am paying rent regularly for the past four years, a per the agreement, he has now gone to court to evict me to collect more rent.We are helpless.

i purchaser a kenstar sandwich toaster from sekar emporium, kodambakkam -3- months back with 1 yr warranty and used it only once when the bread instead of getting toasted became charcoal I gave it back to them and they made me visit them atleast 10 times before they gave it back after a month but the problem was not attended at all I gave it back to them this time also and this time the toaster itself became like an old one due to the heat They promised that they would replace the item but despite my visit to them another -7- times, they are always givin the same answer - come after -2- days Even when I when I went after -10- days gap I got the same reply The service centre in Vadapalani too are indifferent I need a toaster badly as I am dependent on it - being a high cholesterol patient but now struggling for more than -3- moths without it Being electrical item, I wanted a good one from a good shop and avoided cheaper types but only got punished for my proper planning They have taken back the bill and warranty saying it is required for replacement and I have only their acknowledgement with me Deepika, a salesgirl does only selling with her talking skill and never bothers thereafter
