[Resolved]  AAFT Noida — scam! selling all lies

Hi,

I'm a young female from Belgium and came to India in July to study PGD Media Management at AAFT, Noida.

I choose that school over all the others because it was supposed to be International, have a very big campus, lovely pictures from the hostel were provided and the description of the are seemed so very nice.

The hostel would be in a pollution free area, near malls, eat courts, gym facilities were provided, the rooms would have modern bathrooms attached etc... as they do care about the desires of all the students specially for the international students they would make the best home.

Transport to college and back plus 3 meals/day would be included in the hostel price.

Tuition fee Rs. 200.000 for a full year, full time
Hostel fees Rs. 129.000 for 6 months to pay up front => Rs. 21,500 / month

After reading the description I thought the price would be fair as obviously I had expected a lot.

Several times I had asked the school for more information but all they gave me was the bank account number and the amount of money I was supposed to pay, nothing less, nothing more!

I arrived on Sunday July 10th and was extremely tired as I had a night flight and hadn't yet slept. When we arrived at the hostel I was shocked! The street being clean was ok but right before that, the place was a dump with a unbearable smell. The hostel looked so old and when I entered my room I only wanted to throw up. The room was old, dirty and smelly. The closets all broken and windows disgusting as was all the rest.
I wanted to sleep but the sheets on the bed were so dirty I had to open up my luggage and cover the bed with scarfs so I could sleep. After waking up I wanted to take a shower in my "modern bathroom" that turned to be so dirty, the dirt doesn't even come off and I shower with a bucket in these modern times. No one speaks English btw so it's a waste of time asking these people to fix things.
There is no such a thing as a gym, it doesn't exist!! And the place is 10 to 15min driving from mall and eat facilities !! We have to be back before 10pm or they won't let us inn. So basically we're paying to go to prison.

Lunch time they served me rice, bread and chilly sauce. For dinner they served me rice, bread and chilly sauce. For breakfast they made me bread, tomato's and cucumbers. And that's the food that they serve every single day in a International school! Even the Indian students don't eat that crap!

The transport is a 20 year old bus, very dirty inside and some seats are even missing.

Then on Monday arriving in school was the biggest disappointment. The campus is really small, is full of flies and stinks. The canteen is dirty, small, full of flies and what else, smelly. The food they serve there would kill me one day! They also only have Indian food and again no one speaks a word of English.

My full time classes with the best teachers: I have class until 2.15pm on Monday and Tuesday, free on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday until 12.30pm. The teachers are worthless as they make dictations to us out of a library book and totally not qualified to teach Management! This whole thing is a big joke! The students know more and these people do, they asked a RJ to teach Radio Management ?? And the other "teacher" plays games we used to do in kinder garden ?? I feel like in stead of doing a post graduate, I went about 15 years back in time. Also we are not provided with any books or reading material what so ever. Sometimes teachers even don't show up in class, that's hilarious! The AC they had promised in classes, well doesn't work.

So I'm paying Rs. 200.000 for part time classes with no books or any valuable teaching. And Rs 21.500 for a room that is so old the dirt won't come off, broken closets and windows. I can't eat that food so I pay extra to buy my meals since we are not permitted to cook (to use gas, we have to pay extra and things we put in the fridge sometimes disappear). The bus drives to the hostel at 4.30pm so after class at 2.15pm or 12.30pm I have to pay for my own transport back to the hostel. What a ! All lies!! Today I asked them to do an internship as I have so much free time and am not learning anything and they forbid me to do that! I have to wait till the year is over, then I can do an internship if I want...

Of course they do not refund you any money but they do make you pay everything up front at once. They give you all rules and regulations after you arrive and lock you up in their prison.

I've been here only a month and I have to stay another 11 months. I don't know if I can do that but I also can not leave as I have worked my off for that money they are putting in their pockets without giving me back anything. I'm stuck and do not know what o do!
