So much of fan fare and finally Airel 4G ([protected]) arrived. I was one of the first customers to buy it for Unlimited Rs1999 plan. It worked at a speed of 3-4 Mbps (they advertise 100 Mbps) at Salt Lake, Kolkata for 3 days and then it stopped. Repeated calls to the customer care[protected] did not result in any thing. They give reference nos and complaints but no one is able to solve it for last three days. The place where I bought the 4G connection is sending their Airtel Engineer for last three days but some how he does not reach my residence to fix the issue. The customer care could not find reference nos which they messaged F[protected] and complaint no 43620717 and then I have to make a fresh complaint.
Basically Airtel is taking all its 4G customers on a ride. Beware of them as they do not have any refund policy if their network is down. I was told that I will not get any refund though their network is down for three days and today being a Sunday, Airtel Engineer will not be able to come and I have to wait the standard 48 hours for the Airtel Engineer.
I have been taken by a ride and I would advise other new customers to not be taken by a ride by Airtel.

AIRTEL- CALLING CARDS — Misselling by Airtel on their calling cards

I had enquired about the Airtel home calling card at the New Delhi international airport. I was told by their representative that the calling card does not involve any cost of access except the call rate of Rs8 per minute. I had also specifically enquired if this was true for Singapore and I was told that the same was true.

However, I later found out that each access using the calling card costed me Singapore dollar 2.5. This is way above the amount that I would have paid, had I jsut used my local India number. On my return I contacted a person by the name of Sunil. This gentlemen was least interested in sorting out the issue. I later found out that mine wasn't an insolated case and that many others have faced similar fate by using the calling cards

I have an Airtel 4G connection in pune. The sales guy told me that the tower is in my society while taking the connection. Post an amazing demo i went ahead with it and today after a wifi router which cost me nearly 5500 + running a wire a from the sweet spot (demo spot) to my work station another 2000 i have nearly lost 7500 in the whole ordeal. Today nothing works. I get frequent disconnections( 20 to 25 minutes and i am disconnected) My complaints to the customer care has been just pushed between their two teams which is their Network team and the other is the home visiting engineers. They now tell me that the site is 500 mtrs away from house and thats the reason i am facing this issue. The network team even had the audacity to to tell me to suspend my account till they dont get adequate conenctivity in my area. On my call to the customer care today i realised that i have played online games and the charge is another 6oo for that. I would have loved to play games but not on a connection which i could not even use. My guess is under the pretext of testing the visiting engineers have been playing them. A very BAD experience. On my questioning on authentication before making such payments for such games i was not given any answer. They say you may have accidentally clicked on them.

Guys. My bad exp. In aloss. After paying taxes and not getting any services from the government i am now even facing these private service providers and getting the same crap.

My Last try to approach some senior authority at the Airtel website gave me the below notification (note: This is a copy paste from their website after clicking on the link for Grivance Redressal on the below mentioned. Another anecdote from Airtel :). Even here i as a consumer am being blamed to pull their site down.

I think the below email will throw light on my plight with Airtel 4G in Pune. The joke is it says Platinum Customer Care. As a reply to the below email, they sent me the latest bill!!! Yeah right!!!

Hello Abhilasha,




I subscribed to the Airtel 4G (USB modem) as soon as it launched in Pune in Nov 2012. I was very happy and expected and was promised a wonderful browsing experience at lightning speeds and great connectivity. Instead what I got was a product that has barely worked for 10 days in the last 8 weeks and a customer service team that is hardly reachable and creates service request numbers when I reach them only to auto-close the requests without any action on the same.



The service was tested by your sales guy and service engineer prior to my buying the product and was told that there is excellent 4G coverage in my area and that connectivity would not be an issue. On the recommendation of the sales rep (Mr. Shekhar) I purchased the 4G USB modem along with a TP-Link 4G Wi-Fi router totaling to Rs. 7500/-. I paid in cash on request since I was told that paying by cheque would delay activation.



The problem started two days after I bought the product with the USB modem not responding and zero connectivity. I tried contacting the customer service helpline @ [protected] and was unable to get anybody to take down a service request. I tried all options on the IVR and everybody who picked up said that the IVR had not been setup for 4G yet and someone would call me back. I was not even given a service request number. After a week I was able to reach someone who told me that somebody had notated my account with the remarks "Customer requested deactivation" and that my account had been disabled. This was when I had paid the first bill sent to me ahead of time. When I contested this, I was told that there was some error and that the account would be reinstated. The same day the service was resumed and worked for a couple of days.



Since then, the device has again stopped working and I have been chasing the customer service helpline ([protected]) and the sales rep @ +91-98602XXXXX but to no avail. Both the devices sit on my desk without any use to me. However I am getting the bills for the service on time. I have been able to get some service request numbers; however they have been auto-closed as before without any resolution. (Complaint #47503115 dated Dec 9 2012, #47541762 dated Dec 11 2012, #47596027 etc.). In the interim I am forced to use a Reliance Netconnect+ USB modem which may not be a 4G but does the simple job of keeping me connected really well!!!



I am clueless on how to proceed further on this and then I get the below email telling me that I am a valued customer and your favorite. I really do not know whether to laugh or cry.



Please tell me how I can return these devices to your office. Looking them lie on my desk without use keeps reminding me of my folly.

      on my cell phone every day approximately 20 sms and 10 calls from airtel only,i have complaint so many times to my service provider Bharti cellular ltd.
      but every time a new complaint no but no action .
      complaint by mail and to customer care also.

      i have registered my number for DND and even after the cooling period of 45 days, daily i am getting 3-4 commercial sms.

      i have called airtel numerous times, and all they do is ask me the same details over and over again and every damn time they give me a new complaint number and increase the resolve date by another 2 days.

      this is a complete scam by airtel and its customer service is of no help.

      apparently i am not the only one suffering from this, numerous of my friends complain about the same thing but do nothing to stop it.
      actionshould be taken against airtel as it doesnt give a about the user compaints.
      If you really cared you would have notcide the e-mail option
      Moreover i have already put up (and i counted them!) 10 complaints regarding the same dam issue to the customer care.

      Yet i keep receiving bloody irritating commercial sms and now even phone calls.
      Its as if airtel itself is trying to harass its own customer. Stupid service...all you people do is send some letter to the TRAI for the concerned SMS sender...but hello there are thousands of such commercial sms sender...so are you waiting for the customer to give you 1000 complaints so that you can send 1000 letters to TRAI.

        I recharged an airtel prepaid number using ngPay mobile app. The recharge amount is 300 (Transaction Id NGPAY[protected]). According to Airtel's current online prepaid recharge schemes, I should have got a full talk time of 300. Instead I got 264 only. I tried calling Airtel customer care numbers (121 and 198) numerous times but just before reaching the customer care executive, the line gets disconnected. I could not even find a straight forward means of writing to airtel directly (searched on airtel.in / contact section).

        Airtel Prepaid — Incorrect Recharge

        I recharged my mobile phone at 20.49 on 19th July 2010 for Rs. 500/- , My mobile number is [protected] (Pune) and the transaction I D is[protected]. However only Rs. 1/- has been credited to my account.

          I confirmed purchase of Aitel HD connection - Order # 1783434 and Rs. 6670 was deducted from my bank account on 8th May for package name - South mega HD 12 month bundle. The airtel executive informed me that the money was not received and sent an executive for collecting the money once again. On confirming that the money had been deducted from my account, the executive left after connecting me with the marketing team, who confirmed that the money was received and assured about installation within 48 hours.

          After repeated follow-up no response has been received even after speaking on 12th morning to a supervisor named Mr. Khan (who informed me that he has spoken to the Area Sales Manager to expedite the issue). On 12th evening, I spoke to an executive named Naveen, who refused to connect the call to any senior executive / supervisor stating that the installation would happen on Sunday - 13th.

            My sim (Mobile no [protected]) was showing insert sim message. i was adviced to replace the sim at your relationship centre. accordingly i was given a new sim card .they told that the new sim will be activated within 4 hours. 5 days!!! have passed since then, but the sim is not activated. the relationship centre guys and your customer service is clueless. I m in roming ( Kolkata ). will the problem be resolved or not?

            I was using reliance GSM service. Unfortunately my Nokia Mobile lost on 26.09.08. I had brought that Sim ([protected]) from Bilaspur.Now I Have been living at Umaria (M.P.) since last December. I had got the Sim at 6:45 pm from the Airtel Office(Regional) at S.A.Road, Elamkulam, in Cochin City. I was told uponmy inquiry that the SIM Card will become fully active within 2 hours at-the-most.               Hi,

              I have been using Airtel Digital TV connection for past 2 years, while the service was always poor, the recent encounter does put a question
              mark on Airtel's ability to provide basic services. I have opted for an upgrade from a standard connection to an HD connection on 26th
              April 2012. This upgrade will only require a new HD set-top box and nothing else.

              I have submitted a request on its website and very promptly got a call from the service executive. The executive was quick to take the request and asked me to immediately pay over IVR a sum of Rs. 1999 for the upgrade. I did oblige and paid it up. I was promised that the upgrade will be done in 72 hours time at max. It's been 16 days but I have not heard anything from them. Now, since I have paid in advance it has become my responsibility to constantly call up the customer service and ask when it will be upgraded.
              Everytime I call I get a responce stating either -

              It will be done by today EOD or
              An executive from the Installation team will call you in half-an-hour.

              Well, neither the installation has happened till date neither anyone from the Installation Team calls up. Everyday I call up the customer
              care no. and talk to different people and get the same answer.

              By this time I also might be knowing half of the people from Customer Care - Sandeep, Santhosh, Shahrukh, Farooq, Kalyani, Saloni, Sunil and a lot more..
              The sms also provides a no. to follow-up - [protected] but nobody ever answers this no.

              I have also registered several complaints but to no avail. It only falls on deaf ears. These are the complaint nos. created and still open -

              Don't know if they believe in any kind of SLA or tracking complaints and closing them.

              Now, the basic question, if Airtel can not provide Set top boxes should it not shut it shop? What's the point in taking people's money and harassing them?

                Hi Appellant officer,
                I agree that for 6GB+ bill is 4k+. But my concerns raised here are not addressed:



                1st Problem:

                • Agent who sold the plan said that bill shield was 1000

                • Now it turns out that he gave a plan that is not in the pamphlet that
                he gave me . I never signed up for this plan

                • I would have outrageously rejected the plan had the agent told me
                that per GB usage charge is 3000.

                2nd Problem:

                • Below attached screen shot shows 3G usage on 18th as 4.1 GB. But my
                cycle ends on 19th and I receive a bill for 6GB?

                • You can¿t argue by the word approximation because actual usage shown
                is 6 GB which is 50% higher than the SMS. 50% difference can¿t be said
                approximation

                • An error of approximation of 50% has made me pay 3000 extra which is
                4 times more than my bill I anticipated or 300% higher or 660% higher than my
                previous bill..

                • I have never signed for a plan which gives 20k usage and gives 16k
                discount

                3rd Problem:

                • My problem is running from 26th April.

                • Every time they send my bill and plan to backend team. As per bill,
                as per plan everything is fine. But this is not what I had signed for¿ Usage is
                not that shown in bill..

                • I¿m in a big soup since every time AirTel is solving a problem that
                is not there.



                4th problem:

                • My credit limit is 1000. How could you allow to exceed and reach 4k+

                hi people,
                this is arun from chennai. my airtel number is [protected]. for the past one week my account balance was deducted for 170 rupees .
                the reason was gprs downloading which had not done. am also having 2gb internet pack, after many attempts and complaints my number is deactivated from calling customer care.after several attempts they refunded 100rs. not the full amount. this week again they deducted 80rs.
                airtel is completely a fraud company. lets see what they will do after seeing this complaint. my mail id is [protected]@gmail.com

                am deeply disappointed with the service of airtel after i written here, nobody contacted me and refunded my money. but again the same mistake happened to me. again without my knowledge they activated cricket score alert and deducted 25rs money for java game download which i did nothing.
                i tried to contact the customer care. my number is still blocked to contact c care...what a stupid service you are giving...every time i contact u people through other's mobile. now they refunded 36rs. but the call costs me 15rs for contacting c care..whats the point in it?
                still 80rs not refunded...and i hope u people here are just a back office frauds just to answer the posts posted here.thats becoz to save your company's reputation. if anybody illitrate ou people will easily cheat them..airtel is completely a worst service provider nad customer care too...

                  My sister(Nancy Aggarwal)was called up yesterday by Airtel(Delhi NCR) staff to pay her outstanding dues of Rs 2300. During his conversation he called up my sister and my wife and used cheap language. My sister however is ready to pay the dues and asked him that she will pay Rs 1000 this month and the balance in Rs. 1300 next month.

                  Inspite of that this person - Sanjay and Rahul used unprofessional language and continuosly calling her and harassing her for the payment.

                  We want to take a strict action against such recovery agents. Payments will be made once these two employees
                  are punished and taught leasson, how to behave with Females.

                    I want to raise claim/ complaint against Airtel internet Service.

                    Myself sachin gaikwad , i m one of the airtel service user with number[protected]. Today on date i used internet directly under emergency condition on 08:04 am in the morning and after 10 minutes i got message of that all my balance of 54 INR was deducted for use. i immediately communicated the problem with customer care Representative Santosh & He give me the answer that within above mentioned time i downloaded 54000 KB of data. Which practically not possible, as i m using 2G service.

                    It s either their system error or said answer is manipulated by the airtel Representative Please give me exact calculation & or system log in written of deducation of data and if airtel is unable to give that then refund the said amount. 54 INR for 10 minutes is the highest price for any internet service paid as compared to nowadays charges.

                      I have mobile network from Airtel from past one year with mobile number [protected].We are regularly made the service bill payment with in the due date.Today suddenly without any information,the outgoing calls are blocked.I have checked with customer care,but their std answer is This is due to technical problem same will be resolved within 24 Hrs.please resolve the same immediately,since waiting 24 Hrs is very much difficult.
                      We have given the request for postpaid to prepaid conversion & it has been registered with ref.no.1232031, also i received new sim. Today the mobile display shows 'No Service '.When i will get the new sim activated.Please reply.

                        This is regarding my airtel no.[protected]. The airtel company charged unwanted java games bill ( worth : 4500 rupees ) on me in Jan and feb-2012.

                        Where i have not downloaded any games , same i explained to customer care people on first day ( 13 /01/2012 ) when i got first SMS ( which was charge 99 rupees ).

                        Please check my all complaints, when I called first time to your customer care , your people told that after the bill generation extra money will be deducted, then I waited till the generation of bill.

                        Please find below complaint lists , same was not solved by your people . if this would have solved ( Java games activation deactivation ) on first day in January, my bill would not crossed 500 per month.

                        First complaint date : 13/01/2012 , spoke to Chetan ( F[protected]

                        Second complaint date : 17/01/2012 , spoke to Sandeep ( Group Manager ) (F[protected]
                        There are so many complaints in the month feb and march -2012.

                        Airtel customer care people even Nodal officers also don't know how to deactivate the games club...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
                        Wantedly airtel people are not activating the such a things to get money from users .
                        i appreciate some appellate people who gave me only 1000 rupees discount..
                        But i need total money ( which was due to games downloaded ) discount.

                        Airtel should show there transparency in this issue..

                        Mr. .Prashanth[protected] spoken with me on 30-04/2012 and told that 2500 rupees he is going to give concession... but still the customised bill not at reached me..

                        AirTel — Billing for Games

                        In this month (July-Aug 2011) bill there is a charge of Rs 398 for DSL usage under Games. There are two units mentioned. I have never used Games, then why these charges. Even the details have the time as 0.0.0. There is a problem at Airtel end. I called up customer care and he said that I must have used it. When I asked to talk to a manager he said someone will call me in 2 hrs. But nobody has called me. Also tried raising this complaint thru airtel.in portal by logging in my account. When I submit the complaint the portal throws an error stating - " We are unable to process your request. Please try after sometime. "
                        My a/c no is 15173211 . Please fix and revert back these charges.

                          Today morning at 9.30am, I got a call from a number +[protected]. It rang once and disconnected even before I picked up my mobile. I pressed the number to return the call and got engage message. Wondering where the call came from as the engage message was in Hindi but the first letters were +92 I checked for STD code +92 on the net. It was an ISD code from Pakistan. I also noticed on the web and from this site report by others getting similar calls from Pakistan. I just thought of lodging this complaint.

                            I received text message on my mobile from Airtel that Thank you for choosing Airtel Friendz chat service ........ Now Airtel is charging Rs 1 per day for this service which I did not choose or request
                            I received similar Text in March 2012 that Thank you for choosing Airtel Vatsu Pack....... and I was charged Rs 2 per day. I am very disappointed by this kind of cheating by a reputed mobile service provider.
                            They should discontinue the Friends Chat service with immediate effect and refund all deducted amount.

                                  I had refilled a prepaid airtel number +91 [protected] on 28th April 2012 through my credit card (Citibank). However, though the credit card authorities say that the transaction has been cleared from their end, there has been no credit to the balance of the above mentioned number. A confirmation from the credit card authorities has been recieved stating that the refill has been successfully done. However, when called the airtel customer care, the officer stated that there has been no recharge made.

                                  This is not the first time i have refilled this number through my credit card.

                                  Request you to kindly look into the issue and get the same sorted. Looking forward for an early resolution.

                                      This is really frustrating and irritating for one of the biggest air owners in India. This is not the first time a service has been activated on my mobile by itself, but this Games Club is the most irritating of all. I can pay 100 bucks for a service I choose but I cannot bear paying even a paise for which I did not ask for. It's worst when the customer care service is very poor in Himachal Pradesh when most of them doesn't speak English. If this games club issue is not resolved within 24 hrs I am applying for MNP to another carrier for which I am not alone and I have a bunch of Juniors who are ready to MNP or whatever with me.

                                      I sent the sms STOP to 121 and also tried unsub gc to 56363 but there is no service active in my mobile and my balance has been deducted everyday.
                                      How is this kind of problem not yet solved by this famous company. It's like some other companies hacked into airtel and bill the customers.
                                      This is not the first time this happens but I am expecting you to do the needful and unsubscribed me from it like you did in my previous complaints.

                                        i am dirar from kerala.my mobile number is [protected] .i have been an airtel customer for years but as recently airtel services have become quite unsatisfactory in respect of its coverage i wanted to move to vodafone,and for this purpose i have been sending requests in the format''PORT<> [protected]'' to ''1900'' for days now but l haven't got my portability code yet from airtel
                                        Hoping my grievance will satisfactorily be dealt with

                                        They are simply fraud me by detcting my balance with out any reasons.
                                        So i need to port from airtel to some other network.
                                        I tried porting to vodafone twice and once with docomo.
                                        Each time airtel didn't port me.
                                        Please help me to release me from such fradulent service.

                                        I have requested forportability from Airtel to Bsnl from 1900 and got Unique Id AA971367 on
                                        4/6/2011 ,paid all the billed and unbilled amount 2000.00 on
                                        4/6/2011.I got a phone call from airtel customer care saying they will
                                        offer 10% discount for next six months,if i cancel the UPC,but for
                                        which i refused did not send any acknowledge SMS which airtel officier
                                        told me to send.,instead that person as forwarded the cancellation on
                                        my behalf without my intimation and made eligable from 10 % discount
                                        for the next six months which i got an SMS on 08/06/2011.I got a SMS
                                        from BSNL saying that Airtel as rejected my application due to some
                                        Legal reasons on 3:40 PM on 05/06/2011 . i called up airtel customer care
                                        on 05/06/11,07/06/11 and on 08/06/11 and complained regarding this
                                        message ,but till now no one as attended the issue,instead they r
                                        saying that the port out was cancelled because of some legal problem
                                        between Airtel and BSNL, which is not my problem ,why should i suffer
                                        beacuse o[censored]r problem .Kindly make airtel resolve my problem

                                        you Airtel people have no respect for Indian laws;to put it simply you make fun of them.today one of your customer service executive gave me a tedious as to how l had to approach a service provider once l got my porting code.l told her l had not yet received porting code.l said l had sent my porting request at least 9 times already.she said she had not taken not of it(wow! the executive says it all of your customer care services)then she apologized.l said what l wanted was not apologies but a resolution.she said she had fixed a date to sort out my problem-June 27(ha ha customer care executives call the shots?), which rather sounded as fixing a date for an engagement or wedding(just to think of it splits my sides with laughter!)

                                        My problem has not yet been solved.On the other hand you are adding insult to injury by writing that you suppose my problem has been solved.You know only too well that your customer care executives don't answer my calls and they don't intend to send me a porting code, either
                                        You don't seem to respect TRAI laws regarding MNP.You don't even respect this forum, either.You think yourself/yourselves above Indian law.
                                        I have no idea what a Goliath you are;I am no David.Worse still, I am waging this Porting War blindfolded, with you multi-national warriors always remaining hidden and inaccessible and unapproachable
                                        I don't know where you got your culture and civilization;no decent Indian would treat another in so callous a way as this.
                                        You know, it has been a month since I started sending you requests(eleven already)in the prescribed format but nobody helps me
                                        If you are straightforward and decent enough, take immediate measures to help me out

                                        I have applied for Mobile Number Portability from Airtel to Idea but its more than 1 month and Airtel has not completed the request... and when contacted they are replying that the problem is from Idea.... but there is nothing like such and actually Airtel is not letting me to change to Idea.... So tell me what to do.
                                        for telephone regulatory authority of india act portability change within one month but airtel service provider do not change portability in 3 month
                                        I had requested for porting out my number from Airtel to BSNL 3 times in the past, and unsuccessfully. The request would be taken in and closed without processing. Last time I paid my fees to BSNL along ith application form and porting number and received the SIM Card. However, despite several requests on phone to customer services, the number is still not getting ported out. I have been a high value mobile user and I suspect that is the reason. I don't get the signal at home thru Airtel and there is an urgency to the porting as it affects my work. Pl help!

                                        Airtel — Customer care executives not connecting my call and not allowing me to portability

                                        Dear sir, i am Mr.P.Ravichand Resident of Vijayawada, i recently recharged with 111 and got full talk time but my call charges become 70 pisa per minute even though i am having a value vocher, of 59 to call all local 29 paisa. To clarify that i keep on calling several numbers like [protected], 121 from today 7.10 Pm to 8.30 Pm They keep on disconecting my call, then i got frustated and decided to portable . That option also not working. Airtel is cheating all the customers. I want to move to Consumer courat for causing me this discomport, I also want to say all this site user to don't use AIRTEL MOBILE. They are very discosting. By the Way my mobile number is [protected], i want to forward this mail to trai to refer this matter.
                                        Dear Rakesh Ranga Till Now i didn't got any clarification from ur side. One lady called me yesterday, she is also repeating that our floor supervisor had given u the clarification, they are saying that according to my usage i will be able to connect to the customer care, tell me is it true, then tell me at what is the amount that i required to use to conect ur customer care, how tata docomo people able to give that much free lanced service, and why u people didn't intimate the customers via sms stating that it is not possible to you that always u can conect to customer care, and tell us what should we do if we come across with any problem (as per trai guidelince), i hope u will reply soon
                                        Hello Rakesh, Just now i once agin tried the same is hapening (you can check my call data), but this time i tried only once, i again with my bsnl no contacted ur customer care once again for my complaint no CUIVR[protected] She is saying that ur complaint has been closed. How u people close my complaint with out solving my problem, and with out giving me proper clarification, on 3rd i am in a mood of porting away from ur network, but now i changed my mind, i wont portaway from u r network till i conect ur customer care from my airtel number.I hope on behalf o[censored]r customer care team u will respond.                                         We have 5 mobile connections with Reliance communication. We had applied to Airtel for portability from Reliance to Airtel in the month of March’12 through Airtel authorize agency Shyam Telelink, Chittorgarh, Rajasthan .We got portability no. from Reliance and also paid advance and extra payment to RCIL . But even after several failed attempt and also visit to the concern agency Airtel not processed our portability application and also not given any explanation for not processing the portability. After getting assurance we once again applied for portability and got portability no. from Reliance. But this time also Airtel not processed our application. Why Airtel not processed our application if processed than on what ground Reliance rejected portability. Our mobile nos. are

                                        I visited Airtel Panaji Goa to port back to Airtel from vodafone on 12/06/14 at 5pm. A guy here requested me to pay Rs.49 for this which I did and even after requesting for a micro SIM was given normal SIM. Instead he told to cut this given SIM at nearby IDEA store. Then he told me to come in a week to pay Rs.25 for a micro SIM again with documents.This process took them 45 min.(Entry-&amp;gt;hlr2 SIM given--&amp;gt;then changed to hlr1---&amp;gt; exit)
                                        1. What kind of service is this?
                                        2. Why should one pay for micro SIM once he/she has paid for porting and getting a SIM?
