[Resolved]  Bangalore Rto (Driving License) — Bangalore RTO - experience

People are talking more about North Indian being harassed at mumbai. But has anyone ever talked about harassment of non Kannadigas at Bangalore ?

Ask the people who are living there. I am going to present the series of few short stories here and inviting discussion / comments.

This is in reference to Driving license.

One of my known person has went for driving license in Bangalore. Just check incidences -

1. When he was in front of licensing authority, officer denied to speak in English and asked to speak him in Kannada only. When he said about not knowing Kannada and ask to speak in Hindi, officer shown him bitter face.
2. Officer asked him to show PUC certificate for new car - new car doesn't require PUC certificate.
3. During driving test, officer asked him where he belongs to, is he a software guy and for how much time he is in Bangalore - to probably inquire about his background.
4. He was declared failed in driving test reason
* He did not wear helmet for 2 wheeler test - he has asked officer whether he should wear or not before test and officer said, its ok not to wear
* He did not put L sign board on bike as it was on his car. He asked officer whether he should transfer it from his car as it was on his car.
* He has not shown sign of stop while taking turn on hike - how many Indian knows sign of stop ?
5. At the end when he asked officer not to be unfair to him, officer replied to him only in Kannada ?

Now tell me

* Is it not a prejudice driven ?
* Are North Indians being harassed at Bangalore?
* Where a person should raise his voice against ?

Hindi is the national language to communicate all over India so why it's important to speak in kannada?
Respect to India is different fact and forcing to speak in kanada is nothing but a harassment only.
Officers don't talk either they want to harass to the people or they can't speak English and Hindi.

Karnataka Officials are studied in Kannada Medium Schools and you can not expect them to speak in hindi or English. This is Karnataka, and they have all the rights to communicate in Kannada.
Hi,
I feel its unfair to accuse harassment . If bangalore did not accepted outside peoples then how come 50% population is non kannadiga ? If you want real experience, please go to chennai and you will realize it .

First of all we stay in karnataka, which is official language of communicaiton in Karnataka .
Do you want kannada peopels to go to Delhi and speak kannada ?

Whats the harm in learning few words of a new Indian language, instead of showing our attitude .
I also don't know much Kannada, but I picked up few words very easily with open mind and believe me all kannadigas help me.

They are happy when I try to speak a little broken kannada, and they speak hindi/english to me .
Now what best we can expect ? When we can adopt Hindi (adulterated language of invaders, English(Foreign language) why not have interest in leaning our own Indian language (atleast greeting and small words, sentences ) ?

Regarding RTO, if some goes through agent its done without any issues throughout India .
If we do not pay the chain, we fail, irrespective of what language you speak, local/outsider etc .

Thanks,
I went to the rto indiranagar b'lore today & met several of their officers including asst. R. T. O. Regarding driving license for my son. He has a learner's license & is valid till today evening. Since he completed his exams yesterday, we were trying to upload the online application for dl since yesterday, after completing the forms, due to their pathetic maintenance of their software, the " submit" button was just not accepting & appeared disabled.
I personally visited the rto office to complain about the problems of the software & dis-functioning of their online application. They chased me to different officers sitting in different rooms, but none were of any assistance to us.
Finally i went to meet the asst. Rto, who was in discussion with someone who appears a personal friend talking & laughing about their personal matters.
I then had to ask excuse & went in to explain my genuine problems on account of malfunctioning of their online application. This gentleman abruptly walks away without even answering / responding to my genuine grievance. I followed him to persuade & to respond, but he refused and shouts back saying he cannot respond on the road...
I am unable to understand this man's arrogance & dirty attitude. Probably, he has forgotten that he is a " public servant" and his position demands being courteous & reply/ advice how to go about to sort this issue which is wholly the rto's failure of online system due to lack of knowledge of these officers.
He needs to be pulled up & reprimanded.
In fact he has no right to be in the position that he is in as asst. R. T. O & deserves to be moved out.
Will the higher up take this matter seriously.
Probably they are desperate since the online feature reduces the bribe factor & wantonly wish that this online systems fail repeatedly...
