[Resolved]  BSNL (Evdo USB Data Card) — The worst customer service!! The reason why Japan built itself so hi-tech in 50+ years from scratch and India did not!!

I'm an IT trainer and fortunately or unfortunately I teach customer service to people and I experienced the most terrible customer service ever. I walked into the Koramangala, Bangalore BSNL Customer service office to apply and collect a USB Data Card for my laptop. I had to visit the office 7 times and every time I went there they would tell me they have no stocks or they'd tell me that there computers are not functioning so they can’t communicate to the concerned dept. The old lady there even shouted at me for being persistent and showing up so many times, although later she tells me that it happens because she has too much work(Not what I saw when I was there for hours unless you call talking over the phone a lot of work). I eventually got the USB Data Card and now came the issue of activating it. It's been two weeks now and calling customer care number and getting a hold of one person (and that was the only time I got to speak to someone) revealed that the work order was not sent from the customer care office in two weeks. There phones are never reachable and I don’t like to meet them just to get yelled by them.

My opinion as a customer service trainer:
1. Customer Service is an attitude and not something that can be enforced on one
2. Please get rid of people who cannot and I mean literally cannot multi-task certainly for the fact that they are old. I don’t mean offense against elderly folks and I certainly respect them but there's a limit to what we can expect from them
3. Someone has to make a conscious effort to improve the system. It doesn’t happen on its own, It’s not evolution its revolution that this country needs
4. I see a lot of complaints against different departments in BSNL and a Google search will reveal hundreds of blogs that has everything negative to say about BSNL. My question is, what has any of it achieved? Here I am putting down a complaint and I wonder what it's going to fetch me. I sure hope this write up makes a difference somewhere, somehow.

My EVDO data card is so slow that my day to day work get hampered, So plz kindly do the needfull.
Initially the speed was as per mentioned but as day pass on the average speed comes down to1-10 KBPS

hi my name is sridhar i toook a connection of evdo for my loptop while takeing the connection i took unlimited which is 750 they told with taxs the bill will be 850 they took 1000 for dopisit. they told next it will get activated but i didnt get activated so went twice to indiranagar bsnl. i went at 10.30 am but no one as come still to office that is called governament job.i called some customer number but no one picks up the call ten times i tryed at last one lady picked the call and then she activated the net. so i went home then i tryed to open the net there is no signal in my area.in stay in banasawadi i called the customer care of banasawadi one gentelman pick the call i told him m not getting the network u know wat reply i got sir please takke of[censored]r connection i got shocked i asked him can u people cant ddo any he said u should check and take connection then he hanged the phone. its my duty to check r they have check before selling the product. at last i took my loptop to my friends place where i got network.Then i thought i will use one month and i will give it back.Now i got one more shock my bill is 3000 for one month. then i took that bill to indiranagar bsnl office which is there in 80feet road i asked one lady over there this she tole some story like we will take 3 months bill in advance.Then i asked her y u didnt tell while takeing the connection u know wat was her answar sir we cant tell to every one u should know this. Now tell me should i pay this bill or no

i too believe that country's old and govt based BSNL service is the poorest in the whole country. even though it has reached each and every part of the country but still the work culture of BSNL officials is worst. they lack the respect, care, and concern for the customer. For BSNl officails custmers are dogs and they feel customers are barking on them so they hardly care for them. it is requested to the top officails to look into the matter so that they improve the customer service a bit and not everything, as it seems impossible in this century that the system can be changed

I have been using the EVDO since almost one month.I am really frustrated using this EVDO service. EVDO service never works properly except one or 2 days of week. When this service works in 2 two days, it is taking lots of time to render webpage. I have complained about it. but always get answer we have problem in server. Really they are charing more than Rs.800.Its really costly option and not worth it.

i bought bsnl evdo usb modem but it is no wtaorking in my os vista local officer told me change your vista to xp plz advice me how i can use it in vista.
evdo card is not working good. ma koi file download kerta hu to keval 2kbbs ke speed sa hoti ha. iska bahut he kharab network ha. mera ghar sa tower only 500 mtrs. ha fir bhi yeha itna slow ha jitna ke dial up bhi nahi hota. bsnl wala sabko dhoka de raha ha. koi bhi inka dhoka ma mat ana.
When i buy EVDO data card than the officers said it, s given to me 2Mbps.But now seen that it is to slow.its give me avg. 156kbps for surfing and 10 to 20kbps for downloading.I am astonished that how a govt. institute not obeyed the law.It, s like a failure of government.
hi..i hav been using datacard since two months..its very slow though i was promised with a high internet speed.not only this till now i haven't received my 1st bill yet..if this goes on it wil b hard for me to pay the bills together..please help..

Guys, all o[censored] those who are complaining should have cheked out the details before veturing out into any thing new. A little prudence in checking the reliance experience or for that matter tata indicom sets will reveal that the speeds on an avg will never reach even 45 kbps at certain places. It all depends on the place where u are located. Never the less for the prices offered by BSNL it is so far the best.
I was googling on hsds like photon evdo and reliance netconnect. Reading all the reviews I guess I am better off with the cable broadband connection. Truly BSNL customer care is the worst and i experienced the same with airtel and reliance customer service. I guess they simply hire and fire rather than working on the softskills of their customer care specialists. Each conversation leaves a bitter taste. And as far as the speed goes why the hell do they put 2mbps speed while they can't even support 256kbps d/l. Its really not accepted. Hopefully they come up with some solutions about the net speed.
I purchased a EDVO data Card for Rs. 2911/-. I have been using the EVDO for last fifteen days. I am really frustrated using this EVDO service. EVDO service never works properly except for Sundays. Though I am residing in Kolkata it is giving only 40 to 60 kbps most of the time. Cant even think about downloading. Please help.
I have been this complain thing not working. Lets teach the people sitting there selling product and service a lesson. Always GO IN GROUP and scare those people, these people are the one representing the company so either they HAVE TO behave properly TO US and fulfil their responsibilties or WALK OUT of THIER JOB.
PROPERTY IN ANY CONDITION SHOULD NOT BE DAMAGED. IT IS OWNED BY US INDIRECTLY AS WE ARE ULTIMATLEY PAYING FOR IT AS INCOME TAX.
I did blunder in my life by availaing bsnl evdo data service...its the most irritating thing which is killing me slowly .I would like to surrender this card literally please help me the prcecedure.
