BWSSB — Rain water drain has turned into sewage Gutter

The rain drain running in front of our house at 23rd Banashankari 2nd stage, Bangalore (near Venkateshwara Kalyana Mantapa) has turned into a sewerage gutter and a garbage dump choking the drain. Pictures taken today are enclosed. It has become a serious health hazard and the stench is unbearable. Mosquitoes menace also has increased.

The stone slabs that we had fixed over the drain were removed 2 years ago when the pavements and drains were cemented. After that they never were replaced and now all the slabs have vanished. It has become an unbearable sight near the gate and smells horrible. In addition to becoming a foul smelling sewage gutter the rain water drain has turned into a public urinal.

Complaints to the Corporator Smt Jyothishree Reddy and concerned BWSSB office have not yielded any results. A complaint was also lodged with the BWSSB customer care number on 3rd April 2012 (Complaint with ID S13967). No action has been taken so far. It is a long standing issue.
