For the second time in the past 3 months, our water supply has become contaminated with sewage and emits a bad smell. When it happened last time we had to empty all our water tanks and clean them and wait for the problem to be rectified which took around 10 days despite our urgent complaints. Now we have to go through this all over again!
Apart from the severe inconvenience and expense (we had buy water from tankers) this is a very serious health risk. Many o[censored]s fell ill with diarrhea which lasted for a week. More serious health problems like cholera and typhoid can indeed occur if people do not take preventive measures quickly.
What is even more distressing and very annoying is the fact that the BWSSB plumbers who attend to the job do a pathetic and shoddy job in fixing the problem. That is why these problems keep recurring. Is it so hard for BWSSB to ensure that problems are fixed properly in the first instance? Was this information helpful? |
