If this is the way they keep on bringing new policies, I am really worried about the fact, that some day they will launch a policy to ask you to start working on cleaning all the systems or clean up your manager vehicles [kind of job]. Since there was no where mentioned in the offer letter that, you are supposed to write codes. So get ready to be treated like slaves also.
Why the company always ask for commitments from employees only, is it not organization's responsibility also to keep some commitments towards employees.

They are not doing anything to retain their employees instead started throwing different policies that too without any prior notice and they are expecting 100% productivity which is not at all possible if management keep on doing such things.
Instead of putting efforts in introducing new policies to frustrate employees, management should put their efforts in maintaining employee's satisfaction in the company. They should work closely on loop holes due to which people are leaving the company.Those employees who are determined to leave, they will leave.These policies will not stop them from leaving.

They are not having heart to do this.
What the company is doing its very worst scenario. It is treating the employees as bonded labours instead of encouraging them to work. It is going to impact tremendously on the productivity and quality of the work, if the employee become unite and decided not to work by coming to office - sit and go. There should be some transperency atleast it should be intimated early and then proceed.
I think the company is having wrost management policies and management.

Some body should come forward and put some legal offence on the company...then only this things will not happen and other companies will not do.

This is a clear case of cheating .Company is backstabing the people who is dedicated for the company till now.
This is a stupid idea to retain the people for some time where as they are not doing anything to retain the people. instead they are forcing the people to stay for 3 months, which is as same as british rule or dictatorship.
Actually the people who are giving this type of suggestions to management are taking the company towards the major crisis in future

The work is so bad...non technical...Employees are already in bad situation and now three mnths NP...Worst part is you have to stay for 3 month in any case. No buyout no negotiation.
For new joinees (probationers) also they gave confirmations within month of joining so that they come under this 3 month bracket..from 2 days NP mentioned in offer letter. But at the same time even after confirmation they are not allowed to take leaves for three months. Even if they need sick leave its Loss of pay...

First of all let me tell u that i m not an Employee of Cegedim India. But as a neutral i think whatever they are doing is absolute rubbish. This is not the way to retain ur employees. I know where the company is coming from, but there are better ways to tackle this situation ( i.e. Employees Leaving The Company).
Now let me give an example, Last 3 years only 1% of the employees have left Microsoft and the reason is loud and clear, they believe in taking care of there employees in every possible manner.
Now some people reading this might argue that MS is 10 time or may be 50 times bigger than CEGEDIM. But that doesn't mean a thing in this case. Coz CEGEDIM's turnover is more than enough to satisfy there employees. Infact Cegedim is going the other way around, they are ENFORCING there Norms on thier Employees. This is not going to take them any where. Infact this is going to do only ine thing and that's NOTHING.
This decision will hamper the employees attitude towards work. CEGEDIM please try and take a leaf out of MS's book. While briefing the freshers u guys tell them to think big and give all kind of MORAL lectures. So its high time u follow some of them urself.

well each one will have their views for sure. The way I look at this is different.
1. one would worry about only if there's a need to quit. else such things don't matter
2. This is brought in as there could be unprecedented attrition
3. Now a days most of the companies have either a 2 month or a 3 month notice period.
4. This is detrimental for those job hoppers who change jobs for an addiotnal ruppe, this is good that way.
5. well the ones who have stayed long and want a career change, it hits them bad, but they can always negotiate and move ahead. there will always be discounts for genuine cases.

@Ramya: why do you think that the people should not get correct price for their skills, it is natural that people will leave the company if they get good work(technical) and good price outside.
This phenomena is often termed in computing language as Optimization and in general terms as better utilization of the existing resources, and if some one is good he has the right to go outside and get the best for his skill unlike the one sitting inside the company and resting.

For point
1. Employee of Cegedim should not sign without their consent, After all it is not slavery. Both parties should agree on terms.
2. Such a major policy change should be done after taking their employee into confidence.Should have given some grace period before implementation. What about indian Labour laws. It is like Dictatorship.
I think this situation needs a good lawyer.
