[Resolved]  Chennai Auto Driver — Complaint against Auto driver.Auto Number -TN-02 X 1556

I get in to the share auto from anna nagar west depot to ambattur ot, while comin itself he parked the near to tasmac for 10 mins while passengers inside . driver drives the auto very fast and rash, and the main thing is that he has changed his destinations to ayapakkam when near estate then I asked him will you drop me in ambattur, he replied yes I will drop you . but he didn't do ask of he said . he told me to get down in dunlop and said go by bus and also asking 20rs as fare . i argued with him for sometime and gave the money .
if he can't able to drop me ambattur he should have tell that before while I am gettin into or he should say while I am asking him .
this is second time I am facing this .

i have only one question.. May i know what are all the steps taken so far from the above said complaints..

Its very easy and possible to regulate all the autos with the meter and fixed fares. When some other states can do that means why cant our state?? I think some part of share is going to concern departments/persons, thats why they are not bothering about this. Moreover their attitude is horrible and hectic and much more, i unable to reveal everything which everyone knows.

Please take the necessary actions before something happened severely...

TN-10, Q 2142 the share auto plying from vadapalani to valasaravakkam driver is a offender and a criminal by character. One day while coming from the same route in my bike i was been continuously harrassed by the auto driver by not letting me go on various places and signals by pusshing me to get sandwiched between 2 vehicles, ultimate on the arcot road megamart signal he stopped completely pushing me out of the road resulting in an accident where i and my wife fell down and was into blood. when i got up and came to ask the driver he came out of the auto and in front of public had no mercy on my bleeding hands and legs and started hitting me and ran over my feet again. The entire episode happened in front of the police booth but nobody bothered to help me instead suggested me to go home as the driver is a rowdy. Attaching the picture of the share auto for ref and request the authorities to take severe actions against this auto driver as this has become a criminal act and the road users are in shear panic due to them. If not any action taken then i would like to register a case against the driver but sceptikle as he said he will kill me if i complaint. Please help out the citizens from this menace...

I have been consistently disappointed by brazen cheating by Chennai autorickshaw drivers ever since I came to this city four weeks ago.

My latest bad experience was tonight as follows:

I took an autorickshaw at Velachery rail station for Murugan Kalyana Mantapa on Velachery Bypass road -- a distance of about 2 km -- at 10.45 p.m. today, that is 3 June 2013. As I flagged down the auto, I asked, "how much to Murugan Kalyana Mantapam?" The auto driver said casually, "Yevlo yenna! Ukkarungo, sir." It so happened that he had ferried me to this destination from the station on an earlier occasion, when I had paid Rs. 50. (I always pay Rs. 50 on that route, two times every day). So I sat in the vehicle, but only after asking if he had change for Rs. 500. He said he had. Upon reaching the destination, the driver said he'd charge Rs. 60. When I protested, and the security guards at the building inquired, he lied -- yes, lied -- that he and I had agreed on Rs. 60. We had not. We had agreed only on the same fare that I paid the previous time, which was Rs. 50. When I insisted on his giving proper change, he snatched my 500-rupee note -- yes, snatched! -- and was about to leave. I protested at his goondagiri, but he did not relent. He boasted that his name was Raja and he had CITU support -- he challenged me to make a police complaint against him. (Auto license number TN 11, 9565). Further, he literally grabbed a 10-rupee note from me before finally giving change of Rs. 450. So in all, he took, by force, Rs. 60 -- a full Rs. 10 more. The question, of course, wasn't about money but about ethical and acceptable behavior. I have no doubt that if the security guards weren't watching, this man would have walked off with my 500-rupee note and perhaps done even worse things.

Again, the auto driver's name is Raja, he boasted he had CITU support, and his vehicle number is TN 11, 9565. In the interest of civility and justice, I request Chennai police to investigate him and disallow him from driving any public service vehicle.

My previous bad experience was when I failed to note down the driver's name and vehicle number. It was on last Friday, May 31, at 9 p.m. when I took an autorickshaw from near Simpsons (Anna Salai, Chintadripet) to Chennai Central. The driver took the Rs. 100 I gave him and after rummaging in his pocket for change (per the agreed amount of Rs. 30), did NOT produce any change -- instead, after a few seconds, he turned back and asked me for money! I said I just gave him Rs. 100 to which he said, "What Rs. 100? You have not yet given me anything"! That is the level o[censored]nconscionable behavior he stooped to. I protested loudly and after verbally fighting with him for close to ten minutes -- all the time worried I might miss my train -- he finally produced the correct change and I went on my way.

On July 2nd i took a share auto from Anna Nagar 13th Main Road to Pushpa Nagar (Nungambakkam), While getting down i gave a 2*10 Rupees note.I asked Rs.5/- in return, he didn't give my 5 rupees.Moreover he said wherever you get into this auto, you will be charged an amount of Rupees 20.He was also saying tat you are never used to a share auto u are telling Rs. 15 only whereas, I am using share auto to and fro Office to home daily.Who is he to tell like tat and i dint get into his auto because he had Gemini Board on the auto he voluntarily asked me and said get in and changed the board to T. Nagar. He said it is my duty to ask and get into the auto but the fact is am daily paying rs. 15/- so wy should i ask it again. When i ask them how much they will surely increase the price and say thinking tat i am new to it. Then he started using abusive language against me.Unable to tolerate his filthy language, i gave up.

He was also driving the vehicle in a rash way and stuffing more number of people into his auto, his 4 seater auto had 5 people and two more were seated along his side i.e in the driver's seat.

The auto's number is TN-02 AC 5402. When i noted down his auto number he said note it down do whatever u want..Am totally depressed due to this man.

The person, driving TN 03 A 3999 vehicle on the night of 31st August 2013 around 11 pm, passed derogatory comments when questioned for his indecent behavior of passing urine in front of my house. He, in turn, while taking back his vehicle, rode rashly and closer to me outside my house.

These kind of people have to be punished and should be taught a lesson on public behavior and giving respect.

In whole of India, except chennai, auto drivers are putting meters and they charge only as per meter. I recently went to chennai, for a short distance he charged me 30rs, if we argue, they talk filthi language. All auto drivers in chennai are illiterates and not educated. They are , scoundrels, rascals. They want to earn more money like IT specialists with out any education. They are rowdies. Basically people who are using autos in chennai are bit decent crowd, they do not want to quarrel, that is why auto drivers are taking advantage. In Hyderabad, pune, Bangalore and other places, if auto drivers demand more money than recommended, crowd will beat auto drivers to death. I request people of chennai to beat auto drivers with stick and jail them if they do not put meter.

I am a working woman from a reputed MNC. Share Auto Driver was about to hit on me after crossing Bridge near MIT Bus Stop, Chrompet. When asked "why driving like this?" using bad words. I felt very ashamed in the crowd. Happened 10 minutes before. On 27th Jan, 2014 at around 8:10pm. Auto Number is AT 6840.. Since he went on a speed not to catch eyes on his Auto number I could not see the TN - register number. Share Auto. Yello Black color. It must be TN - X2 AT 6840. Kindly take action.

Today(JAN 7th), I went to office by a share AUTO - TN05 2163. He forced me to give Rs 30 for Semmancheri alamaram stop to SIRUSERI SIPCOT IT PARK. Usually Auto drivers collect only Rs.20 for this distance. He didn't charge based on METER. He is keeping the METER for name sake.

When I asked why I need to pay extra Rs.10. He started using abusive language against me in front of TCS associates.

He scolded me like anything. Please take necessary action against the AUTO Driver.

I took a auto on 5th morning from Vadapalani to Kodambakkam near to Brownstar Hotel . He asked me Rs.50.00. He didn't switched on Meter. Autorikshaw Number is - TN-05-AT-6678. I will attach the photo also.

Today 21.09.15 i took a share auto from perungulathur to tambaram, maximum 2and half kilometer.While getting down i gave a 20 Rupees note.I asked balance Rs.10/- in return, he didn't give he said this is peak time i cant give and also i said i ll give complaint against you and he said we all give bribes to police so dont threaten us .Moreover he said wherever you get into this auto, you will be charged an amount of Rupees 20.He said i[censored] feel, you are at a loss of your Rs.10/- you can travel upto TAMBARAM, which is not my intended stop.Then he started using abusive language against me.Unable to tolerate his filthy language, i gave up.

He was also driving the vehicle in a rash way and stuffing 12 number of people into his auto,

I was charged 100 for travelling from sholinganallur signal to TNHB sholinganallur. distance would be hardly 2.5 kms. they r not accepting below 100. auto driver said u guys r earning 30k or 35k. what is your problem in giving money. why the hell they r demanding money and arguing like this. on top of this IT guys are ready to spend the money they ask for. they don't bargain. they don't bother. is there any way to file a complaint against this auto driver? auto number is tn 22 cx 5744. arrogant, useless, irritating driver.

Took a ride from JJ East to Mangal Eri park which is less than 3 KM. Driver demanded Rs 70.00 with no Meter installed. I have taking this route everyday. If you use a meter or Ola Auto it flat 30 rupees. I offer Rs 50.00 most of the time and be reasonable.
This Auto driver who didn't have a meter installed was creating a nuisance in the office and was abusive.
Please take necessary action.

From Sholinganallur, all the share auto does not follow the rules and regulation as per the RTO. every share auto drivers are running for money minded. they have stopped the auto without any signal or warning on mid of the road it will lead for accident.
Traffic police does not take any action against violation of auto drivers.

I was harassed by the Chennai auto numbered TN 09 CO 8653, who insisted on collecting Rs 10 above the agreed rate. When I refused to pay extra, he started becoming physically and verbally agressive. fearing for my safety, I had no other choice but to hand over the extra fare. kindly take action against such ruffians who make the common space unsafe for women and civilians.
