[Resolved]  Chennai Police — CORRUPTION AND BRIBE

I had taken a house maid from an Agency by name UNIVERSAL AGENCY 23 days ago and later came to know that it was a fraud company as they bsent a maid to myb house just to earn the copmmission of Rs. 3300/- for which they made a term with her to stay for only 1 month after which they will find an excuse and relieve her. Exactly after 23 days. They called me & said that they needed her to get back as her mother was very ill. On asking the girl she said itv was all a lie but instead tols me of how they sent her only for one month. On questioning them they denied it and also threaten the girl and made her force us to send her. I refused to pay the girl nor send her making terms clear with the agency that unless I get a replacement or my money back will I relieve the gril. They called the girl back & told her to say some lie but get as much money out o[censored]s and get away from our house as they are not going to replace us with any maid nor give us a refund. Since the girl took a liking to us she revealed the entire story to us as well as came along and gave the complaint. So immediatley I gave a complaint in the St. Thomas Mount Police station the Inspector being Mr. Ramesh Babu. On giving him the complaint without even reading it he just said the SI will take of it. On that day they sent two constables with us to the agnecy's place (Universal Agency) but since they never knew head nor tail about the case couldn't do much. We returned back the next day being Sunday no action was taken. On Monday on calling the SI she said nothing can be done as she was in the High court and busy with other work. So immediatley I called the Police station and informed them that I am coming to keep my complaint ready as I wanted to meet the Asst Commissioner regarding the issue as no action was taken. Immediately I got a response asking me to come there. On going there I realised that both the inspector &^ the SI was very much there and wanted to just turn me away from the complaint. But after my emphasising on going to the commissioner they took up the case and asked the party to come there. The agency sent a worker there with 2000/- rupees which was much lesser to what we paid.The inspector demanded them to pay the entire amount.At that moment the fraud agency through influence got the Guindy Inspector Mr. Chandrasekar to call up Mr. Ramesh Babu for in a split of a second Mr. Ramesh Babu Changed his verdict saying they cannot handle the case as it was a domestic case. And told the maid to accept the Rs.2000/- and get lost from there. Is this the way an inspector speaks in the first place and what law and order does he maintain he is giving a lending hand to a fraud. How do we trust the police open fraud with the cops. Its a mere shame and disgrase.

ur right sir. A day back, a driver of D2 police station of Mount rd, Chennai, without any reason or complaint abused a guy of our street. He used very aggressive and vulgar words, also he was drunk. I don't know why there are such illiterates and hungry men in Police department of Tamilnadu

would these complaints of ours be effective?? or are they just of no use?

Chennai Police are biased towards north indians and south indians. Yesterday on 27.06.10 my brother was driving 2 wheeler with daughter and suddenly a south indian boy came very fast on a 2 wheeler and did the accident. The guys was not having licensse, my brother dropped the daughter home and came to the police station to give a complaint. In the meanwhile we (myself and mydad) recieved a call about the acccident, so we went to the police station to enquire with my brother. The writer started to misbehave with my dad and was pushing us out, when defended and said we shall talk to higher authorities they started beating me by saying that i had beat the cop and also holded their collar. They started beating me and my brother saying that we had hit the police. 5-6 police men gathered and started shouting us at, took our mobile phones and started writing a complain on white paper that we had hit them. The situation got changed that the person who has gone to give a complain, they started writing on them i.e., we. They were beating us badly by saying that u north indians come and settle in south for food an create mess.

I can never forget this incidence of mine, later we had to give a written apology letter and withdraw the accident case. I dont understand whether we are safe in chennai, as the cop themselves are not supportive.

I was going to Ludhiana from Gurgaon, and was stopped by traffic police. There were no sign that we cannot take right trun, I took right turn. And police was saying we will challan you. I said there is no board that is saying that I cannot take right turn and then he said don't argue with me. and was demanding money in an indirect way. I had to pay him 200 to get my licence back. Everybody knows this that police take bribe.
Thousands like me don't know whom shall we complain if police is taking bribe. Hats off to great India where 99/100 are corrupt.

My passport verification was done successfully as I paid policeman Rs.500. Till I gave him 500 he was saying your documents are not OK and as soon as I gave him 500, he said nothing and all my documents suddenly got OK. Everybody knows verifiying police constable takes bribe, still nobody is going anything.

Here priya from coimbatore district and Pollachi taluk ..Sir the person who S.ANANDH has working as clerk in AALAMPALAYAM villege PANJAYET ...who is making lot of forgery in accounts and buying bribary from uneducated people due to saying some reasons...not only that the presedent is also included in that matter...am one of the person in that villege.. pls take immediate action...

Chennai police is nothing but SOB. for money, they will do anything. we can even trust jerks and criminals, but not police. The kind of words they use to get money from innocent and decent people is beyond imagination. Even beggars are better than them. Sad that Decent indians cant live in today's india. Nothing is going to change except all good people will go out of this corrupted India.

When I am going to home from office from Thiruvanmiyur a TRAFFIC POLICE at kathipara junction highway to coimbedu on 30-th September 2010 demanded a bribe of Rs. 500 and threatened me eventhough I had all my documents. The Most Corruptive police in the World is Tamilnadu Police. We cannot change this useless department instead consider those guys has sensless animal are devil and let us be protective from them.

my dad is constructing a house and the nieghbouring women has complaint against us for the dust and sound.the police investigated and said that they will not allow the construction until my dad pay Rs.25000.im ashamed of government of india.

Police Department of India — Bribe threat by Police personnel

Me ( 25 year female) and my friend ( 26 male) were coming back in an auto from a book-club meeting in IndiraNagar to RajajiNagar (where we live) at 11:15 in the night. The auto broke-down on the way and we were waiting for the auto-driver to get the auto ready. A police man in a Pulsar came by the main road - he saw us waiting in the auto & came to us. He started his interrogation initially which was OK because it was 11:15 PM. But even after we showing him our identity cards, the bill at the restaurant where we had food, he started using vulgar words and abused us. He threatened us to call our parents to the police station & that he wanted to talk to them. I said, they don't even live in this town - but he wanted them to go to the respective police stations in their town.
Also, he forced the auto-driver to drive the auto to police station. The auto driver also told the police that he just took us from out a decent restaurant in Indira Nagar but the policeman refused to listen. All that he did was threatening and continuous abuse. I was so shocked and frustrated and found no logic in what the policeman was speaking. Both o[censored]s sternly refused to come to police station and demanded reason for his behaviour. Later, he said that he needs bribe. We were not ready to give & the story started again. But, he was so threatening that we had to give him Rs.200 and come off the place. All i could do was to note down his vehicle no. That was a Pulsar given by the Police department and the number is KA01-G-4809.

People, what is happening around? Where are we living? This is a metropolitan & I cannot travel with a person from another sex in an auto if i am not married to him? I am seriously disturbed by this behaviour! I know the condition of Police stations in this country & I don't dare to go and lodge a complaint against this cheap guy. But, if this web site could do good, or atleast provide some awareness of such morally degraded policemen, then i am happy, this complaint served its purpose.

yes, i read through the complaint and can feel their situation, we are not safe though we have safegaurd people as police, and could feel like why india got fredom from british and why our people in before independence have struggled all came meaningless,

i dont know as a victim she really got justice, its should be so helpful if we get feed back abt the compliant.

How can a common man make a complaint against the police.Under what section of the law can we make a complaint and what is the procedure for that.

am student am studying MBA day before day my uncle complaint about me in police and police arrested me and then one police asked me what u r doing i just answered doing my 1st year MBA thats all that police beated me i dont know why very irresponsible police and they also dont know how to treat the educated people they told me to remove the shirt also and bull police when comparing to this kind of police, traffic police is much much better.

I am Rishav Roy. I am 21 years old and I am a student. Today(22.06.2011), I went to Howrah station for picking up my friend who was coming from Kharagpur. I am not well accustommed to stations, so am not well knowledged about any station. By mistake I went inside the platform without purchasing ticket. A ticket checker caught hold of me and asked me for the ticket. I was little bit shocked but then I understood what mistake I have done. He charged me a fine of Rs.260 for just not purchasing a platform ticket and that also by mistake. I was not having so much cash with me but still somehow I managed to give the amount. But I requested him by saying, sir please leave me, it was by mistake, I didn't knew it. But then he started saying that, "Rs.260 na dile Rs.1280 jor kore niye nebo, jei bhabe hok". He just threatened me like anything. I just want to ask you one thing madam, Is it a justice to take Rs.260 fine from a student for just a mistake? If the railway authority is so strict then there should have been some restriction at the entrance itself. If the ticket checker has committed a crime by doing it, then I want certain actions to be taken against him. I don't know his name, but the incident took place at near about 5:30 to 5:45 pm, he was a bit short height and of black complexion. If this happens to students then why would we not hate the city?
