I am Karan Shah and purchased Chevrolet Beat petrol LS (LINEN-BEIGE) car on 15 December,2012.
The car has been running well but fails the big claims of the company. The car gave me a mere
mileage of 8 kilometers per litre instead of the company claimed 18-20 kmpl. i brought this to
the notice of the nearest service center REGENT AUTOMOBILES, FARDIDABAD and they did some tuning
stuff just to calm me down. No aftereffect could be observed. Thus heavy on the pockets, i got a
CNG kit installed in the car from a dealer and NOT FROM THE COMPANY. The dealer did a very good
job and the car had been running well till 13 August, 2012. I gave the car for my first service
at 5000 kms on Monday the 13th. The car was in a perfect condition. The big claims of the company
failed again when they charged me Rs.1011 for the service instead of the FREE SERVICE AND THEY SAY
SOME PARTS HAVE BEEN CHANGED. THE PARTS NEEDED TO BE CHANGED OR NOT WAS NOT AT ALL INSPECTED BEFORE
AND WRITTEN ON THE JOB CARD. I agreed to pay that amount also just to keep my car in good condition.
I got the car back the same day and while driving home i observed some faults.
1. the car gave a very troubling sound when accelerated.
2. the engine turned off whenever i stopped.
3. ac did not work properly on gas.
4. rpm was increasing and decreasing on its own.
i called the concerned executive and he said that the ACCELERATOR BELT MAY BE WET AND THUS THE SOUND CAME
AND AC AND OTHER PROBLEMS WOUD SOON BE FINE WHEN YOU DRIVE THE CAR.
THE PROBLEM CONTINUED TILL TUESDAY AND I CALLED THE EXECUTIVE AGAIN. HE ASKED ME TO BRING THE CAR ON
THURSDAY, 16 AUGUST,2012.
I COULD NOT DRIVE THE CAR ON TUESDAY AFTER I CHECKED THE FAULT AND WEDNESDAY AS I FEARED ANY FURTHER
PROBLEM. I HAVE BEEN OPERATED 2 TIMES FOR PILONIDAL SINUS AND I CAN NOT TRAVEL WITHOUT THE CAR WHICH
I HAD TO AS I HAD SOME IMPORTANT CLASSES.
I took the car to the service center and they after just turning on and off the engine, asked me to
take the car to the cng dealer as IT WAS A FAULT IN THE CNG. I agreed and took it to the cng dealer.
TO MY SHOCK, THE CNG MECHANIC SHOWED ME A TRUE EXAMPLE OF THE NEGLIGENCE AND IGNORANCE OF THE STAFF
OF THE SERVICE CENTER. THE CNG KIT INSTALLED ALSO HAS A PART CALLED ""ADVANCER"" WHICH WAS CLAMPED
IN THE ENGINE.
THE CLAMPED BELT WAS BROKEN, ACCELERATOR WAS HANGING DOWN IN THE ENGINE AND IT HAD GOT "SHORT" AS
THE CAR WAS WASHED WITH PURE NEGLIGENT ATTITUDE.
I HAD TO GET THE ADVANCER CHANGED WHICH COSTED ME ANOTHER 700 RUPEES. THE TWO DAYS WHICH I COULD NOT
DRIVE HAS ACCELERATED MY PHYSICAL ILLNESS TOO AND I HAVE BEEN UNDER A CONSTANT FEAR OF ANY FURTHER
DAMAGE TO MY CAR IF I DRIVE IT. I AM PUTTING THIS COMPLAINT TO THE CONSUMER FORUM AND CLAIM ALL THE
MONEY THAT I LOST AND FOR THE FEAR AND AGGRIEVATED ILLNESS OF MINE WITH A COMPLETE WRITTEN APOLOGY
FROM THE SERVICE CENTER.
I HAVE REGISTERED THE COMPALINT WITH THE CHEVROLET COMPLAINT DEPARTMENT TOO.
