Hi,
I commute between Gurgaon and Delhi on a regular basis and use a smart tag to facilitate my move through the toll plaza. I was surprised when I was informed this morning (21st Oct) by the counter staff at the customer services office of Km 24, Toll Plaza that there has been a review of the current practice of offering discount to regular commuters who recharge their tags for one month.
As per the revised ruling as per the counter staff, the balance amount at the end of one month which till now was carried forward to the next recharge cycle, will now not be carried forward and will lapse in favour of/ credited to the account of the toll operator. I would request for the correct rule position in the matter from the DGSC management (the toll operators).
If the information is indeed true I would request for clarification/ intervention by the concerned government authorities to confirm if indeed the NHIA has approved of such a change. To my under standing if the changed ruling is persisted with it will be a big disappointment/ dampner for regular commuters, most of whom to my mind will prefer to pay the toll per usage(in any case the number of vehicles without tags in the TAG lane has always been a problem which has not been fixed till date!).

Second, Anuz should confirm with the DGSC management (the toll operators) before raising hue & cry in these forums.
