HDFC Bank LTD / Home loan — Purposefull delay by bank to deposit the cheque of prepayment

I have taken housing loan from HDFC LTD, Kolkata. Now i have been transferred to Bangalore. I wanted to prepay Rs.48000/- for the loan account number[protected]. When i visited the HDFC branch at Basaweswar Nagar, I was been told, cash is not accepted; only cheque can be deposited. I issued cheque date 27th October; 07 (same day) of HDFC BANK. But cheque was not deposited by HDFC, in October, even though there was 4 days time excluding holidays in that month. When i asked, i was been told delay in courier. In same city, why courier person took 4 days? It is clear lapse from HDFC. I want bank should take the responsibility and weave off the interest being charged for one month since it is monthly reducing basis.
