I m having HSBC Gold Credit Card but from lat 15 days, I m not able to use my card . When I had tried to spoke with Customer Care then I got very worst response. A
ll were put me on hold up to 30-45 minutes and then phone was disconnected. Finally on 1st Dec08 I got feedback from one of CC exc. Miss Namita that my card has been blocked temporary w/h my information. Same day she was confirmed that she will put request to concern dept. and my card will re-open after 30 minutes. but when I was try to use my card today and found that again my card has not been re-open till now.
When I called CC exc. then found that will re-open after 23 Dec08 but none of them having information why it is not open. She also Deny that no confirmation has been given by Miss. Namita that day & put me hold 40 minutes after that she said, I have to wait for up to 23 Dec then only my card will open.

Now they replied that since I had released payment through out station cheque just bcause of they blocked my card which is a funny joke.

    Dear Sir,
4 months before I received one call from HSBC. That person told about the new tieup with TATA AIG insurance and its benifit. I heard about that and I refuse to have that policy. But that person convienced me to hear more details about this policy and he redirected the call to TATA AIG person, They tried to convience me. Then I said, Send me the details about the policy, If I am agree with that policy, then only I can purchase the policy. They said only 99 Rs will be debited on your account if you dont agree the policy.
By that that time, I was out of station. When I got the details about the policy at my office, I got surprised that they have sent the actual policy having around 30, 000 Rs value and the same month, I received the statment from HSBC for 30, 000 Rs debited on my account. That to converted it into 12 installments.

I made calls to TATA AIG and HSBC. they are saying we will look over it. But till date, there is no response, instead they are keep on calling to pay the amount.

If I call TATA AIG they are asking to contact HSBC vise versa.

    Hi

I had opened a credit card account with HSBC on 16/07/2005.
    The details are:
    Name: Chitta Ranjan Dash
    Card No :[protected]

After a few days I got a call from HSBC regarding the new tieup with TATA AIG insurance and its benifit.I denied to go for any policies but after repeated requests from the person I asked him to send the policy document so that I can have a look at it and then decide whether to go for it or not.
Till date I niether have recieved any document nor have signed any acceptance letter/agreement.
NO TRANSACTIONS HAVE BEEN DONE ON MY CREDIT CARD TILL DATE.
The most surprising thing is that they have sent me a bill amount of 12000 and it went on multiplying with interest charges.
After making repeated calls to to AIG and HSBC offices and getting thousand request numbers the issue still remains open. They are telling that the details have gone to collection department, Mumbai.

Finally I had faxed my concern : Fax[protected] in April 2006 addressing to to Mr Nevil

This is a fraud case and is very much regretfull act from a bank like HSBC.
This is the scenario with many of my fellow mates wherin they are recieving credit cards without even sighning on any agreement. This shows that all kind of fradulent activities are performed by either the third party agents or the bank is involved in this.
Unless the contents of a document is agreed upon or accepted by the customer, how can it be processed further and the acceptance is taken for granted.
This clearly states that HSBC has no strong policies and it clearly violates the basic ethics that an organisation should abide by.

THIS SCENARIO HAS PUT ME IN A DIFFICULT SITUATION WHERIN I AM BARRED TO TAKE ANY LOANS FROM ANY BANK.
Please close this issue ASAP or else this will be reported to the leading news papers, press and to higher management of HSBC.

ONE THING IS FOR SURE: HSBC CREDIT CARDS ARE A THREAT AND THIS HAS TO BE CIRCULATED TO THE PUBLIC.
    Hi

    Name : Nitin Amin

    Card No. [protected]

It all started on Nov 2006, I received a call from HSBC. Telling me about their tie-up with TATA AIG insurance and redirected me to Tata Aig Representative he told me about the policy I heard about that and told him to send a broacher of the policy so I could go through and then decide if I want or not. But I was surprised to find that my HSBC Credit Card was debited with the TATA Aig Policy With out my consent.

I made numerous calls to TATA AIG and HSBC regarding the same but to no avail they are saying we will look over it. But till date, there is no response; instead they keep on calling for payment and harassing me.

I am planning to log complaint to RBI and other source So these people does not about the money value. Please need your voluble information However till date I have not received any details of my insurance policy. I have called up HSBC several times and the response I got is that "You will get a call back from the concern department". I called up HSBC again for the same and they have advised to call TATA AIG for the same. Is this is your system can you PLZ suggest me????

I had no information from TATA AIG as well as HSBC in this regrad. No, Calls were made to confirm the policy . No policy documents . Also, the HSBc has no idea where the money went. After having taked such a long time i could expect the commitment from HSBC stating to call up TATA AIG and putting all the blame on TATA AIG. They just gave me a compliant no . and they will expect a answer only after 4 days . THIS IS A SERIOUS OFFENCE FROM TATA AIG AS WELL AS HSBC For FLOATING MY CREDIT CARD TO A 3RD PARTY AND TATA AIG NOT INFOMING ME ABOUT THE POLICY AND TAKING MONEY FROM MY CREDIT CARD WITH NO ONE'S CONCERN. The story goes back and i call up AIG they open up AND CHECK AND CONGRATULATE ME FOR HAVING A NEW POLICY WHICH I HAVE NEVER KNOWN. AND THE CUSTOMER CARE WAS TELLING THAT HE WAS FROM A DIFFERENT DEPARTMENT AND HE WOULD NOT HELP . bUT HE GAVE A TWO NUMBERS WHICH I WOULD NOT EVEN KNOW :. aND I HOPE MY PHONE MENORY IS GOING FULL FOR HAVING THEM ON THE MEMORY . There is no serious action taken as well as nothing to bother HSBC as they are only worried in getting money back from the CUSTOMER. AND ON TOP OF THEY THEY DONT HAVE ANY CURTOSIY IN CALLING BACK THE CUSTOMER AND SPEAKING RUDLY AS IT IS ENTIRELY THEIR MISTAKE . I DONT UNDERSTAND THIS FINANCIAL TIE UP BETWEEN BOTH THE COMPANY TO CHEAT PEOPLE AND FRUSTATE THEM FOR HAING THEIR CREDIT CARD. AND I ADVICE HSBC TO HAVE A TIE UP WITH CELL PHONE COMPANY SO THAT THEY CAN PLAY THEIR CHEAP TRICS MORE . FOR MORE I have RECORDED ALL THE CONVESATIONS WITH THE CUSTOMER CARE NAD THIS IS A legal NOTICE THAT I AM NOT AFRAID TO TAKE THE ISSUE LEAGALLY . I AM ALREADY IN THE PROCESS OF THAT ONLY .

FINALY I DESIDED NOT CALL FOR YOUR SYSTEM AND NOT WILL BE PAY ONE PAISA FOR THIS FROUD

YOU WILL INFORM ME WHEN ISSUE IS CLOSE
    THANKS
These do the some to all its customers. I was also promised by the agent that the card issued will be life time free. However after 1 yr they charged annual fee of Rs 2000. I had to call them up and reverse the charges. Again this year, they charged Rs 2000, but reversed it at the same time, but added another Rs 1000 and taxes in the bill. I had to again call them up and reverse it this time, that too after 2 or 3 long calls, where they force us to listen their advertisement at our expense. Their customer care calls are not free!!! HSBC is fraud!!!

    Same case happened with me.

will appreciate if any valued suggestion is there.

So that the people like us can revive from such fraud cases.
Yes i agree and facing similar problem from HSBC. it is very disgussting and sould raise a voice against HSBC fraud. This is very painful for me to become a HSBC customer, I got a credit card in my previous company from HSBC credit card champagne scheme. At offer they said there is no annual charges, I never used this card for any transaction and there is no overdue amount to bank. Bank put some annual charges at the year end itself which they reversed also himself later ownself. I requested to bank to close my account as this card was not being used for me from a long time, There is no payment due from my side and everything is clear. After this HSBC put as a defaulter status in CIBIL report which looses my credit history this is very ridicules and don’t except this kind of behavior from a MNC bank.

I have been using my HSBC Gold card for more than 4 years now without any problems. there is a Skypak drop-box close to my office and this where I have been dropping my cheques. I dropped my payment cheque on 15-Nov-2008 which was well before the due date but for some reason the cheque (it seems) never reached HSBC. "After" the due date they call me up and state that the payment is not received. I agree to issue a stop-payment on my first cheque and drop a second. This was on 30-Nov-2008 .Common sense would tell anyone that it takes atleast 2-3 days for it to be cleared. Since 31=0th until yesterday night, I have been receiving not less than 50-60 "missed calls" every day at all times from HSBC, Chennai. The calls are never completed. "I" call back asking what this was about and I repeat the whole story. The same process repeats with me calling HSBC back every day and stating the same things all over again. Receiving unsolicited calls is one thing; getting 50-60 "missed" calls from a comapny of the clout of HSBC was rather surprising and shocking. And the best was this... each and every time I called up, they already have all the information I had already told them...
I hope HSBC takes cognizance of this.
i want to know the skypack cheque drop boxs details in chennai... please forward immediately
If you have dropped the cheque at the skypac drop box and the same has not been collected by HSBC and they are still continuing with their srtong arm tactics just go to a lawyear get the same noted with the cheque details and send HSBC a legal notice thru registered post and if you can make out the person who had called you make him a party to it as well. Trust me the prob wld be resolved in 72 hrs along with ur legal expenses. Its just that u have to take up a strong arm tactics as well. Belive me it works...

Hi...I am Manoj. This is regarding my HSBC Credit Card '[protected]' and I just got to know in last month that there is some written off against the HSBC Credit Card in my name.

Last year in 2007 I was there outside of India for three months and there was some amount due against my HSBC credit card. I paid all the due amount which I knew of Rs. 17000/- through check no 213929 but they have written off in Cibil without acknowledging me even I had not done any settlement with HSBC.

Last month I applied for a personal loan then I got to know that there is some written off against my name in 2007 and they did not approve my loan. I called up HSBC customer care and Collection Dept many times but they are not providing me the actual reason and not agreeing to help me on that.

I just want that written off should be removed from Cibil so that I can apply for loan if HSBC think something is due on me then let me know I will pay that.

I am really in trouble, could you please help me on that so that I can apply for a loan.

I emailed to Cibil to get the details. They provided the details as below.
              “Account type: CREDIT CARD
              Account Status: WRITTEN OFF
              Amount Overdue: NIL
              Reported by: HSBC
              Account Information: [protected]
              Date Reported:[protected]”

              Please help.

              Thanks,

HSBC Credit Card — Clever way of cheating HSBC credit card

I have been using HSBC gold credit card for more than three years, very recently i made a transaction which is higher, i paid 85% of the amount on the due date, and remaning 15% of the amount was not paid.
I was really stunned when i saw the statement for this month, they have charged me with the Finance charges for the 100% of the transaction amount for which the payment was already made for 80%.

Here in another interesting story they tell, i have made few transaction for 2000 rs, even for that they have charged me Financial charges for which the due is on next month.

I am a person who stays away from credit card and have a perfect record on what are all the transactions i make. This is one of the clever way in cheating the customers which HSBC has done.

HSBC Bank — Credit card bill issue without using it just for once.

I got a credit card from HSBC bank. The number is [protected].
I never used this card for single time also. But unfortunately from the very first month I'm getting some bill in my credit card.I called customer care presenting the same problem before them.

They told me it is a TATA AIG INSURANCE added to my account(about which I was just unaware of).So one of them told me all the credits that are in my credit card will be cancelled, and gave me a complain number. The complain number is[protected].But nothing cancelled during this period,
called customer care many times but no solutions I got.
I dont have any necessity to have your credit card, Just I wanted have a relationship with HSBC, which is global giant.
But my experience is really bad during this period.I will never want to have any transaction with HSBC.

Above all the the poor customer care which I saw in HSBC it is really shameful for a Big bank like HSBC.

HSBC Credit Card — Settlement letter issued , still every month statements coming with additional charges

after that i was getting still getting statement in every month with additioanl intrest charges .

when i enquired my bank it is found that those cheque has been never produced in my account, so i have written mail and sent faxes to every body in HSBC for this devlopment but now they are saying, that settelment letter is void now, i have to make Rs 29000/ payment to close that card.

please suggest me what should i do.

sbi & hsbc credit cards — bills coming without having cards.

i was using the credit cards of SBI and HSBC banks, after few time even i paid all my bills and given an official request of closing/discontinue the card respective banks are sending me bills of outstanding which i never used. HSBC bank has a procedure to call to his call centre to close the card but whenever i call to call centre the call is said to be transferred to cancalletion depatment and nobody gives any responce, resulting one has to disconnect the phone. it's totally harassment.

              Hi Manoj,

If you have made complete payments without going for any settlement towards the outstanding amount due then the CIBIL status for your account should not show as Written Off. You can talk with bank folks and ask them to fix this issue. The strange thing is many folks in Bank dont even understand these issues and how the data should appear in CIBIL. You should talk to Bank Nodal officers and bring their attention to resolve the issue. If they dont address the issue, you should complaint to Banking Ombuddsman which is a RBI subsidary to resolve the issue.

              Thanks,
              Kumar

credit cards/ bank loan — records in cibil history

              Hi,
To whom so ever it may concern ..I recently got the information that my name is in the defaulters list in cibil history ...i had a citibank credit card which was issued in either may or june 2007...i used this card for 5 -- 6 months probably and then it was stolen .i did call up the citibank customer care to block the same ...but as per citibank customer care i never informed them about the same...then the bank people got in touch with me and they wanted me to do a settlement which I did on 23/1/2008 by paying theman amount of 36000.00 which wasgiven to me as a full and final payment. They also committed that my name will be removed from the cibil defaulters list within 1 month and since then i ve been in touch with the bank employees and they are not responding because of which even after doing a final settlement with all settlement letters from citibank still I m bein considered as a defaulter .
As per cibil records : Some card is blocked with overdue of Rs 41374 and which is showing in a Closed status and the dateis 18/02/2008 whereas I have made a settlement and closed this card on 23/10/2008...i would request the corcerned to please give me some information about the same as the bank is not cooperating at all because of which i am in a big trouble...
also there is another default against my name high credit amount : 27300, status : active ...n overdue amount of Rs 9341 against which i want some details ...i would request to please give me some information abt this overdue as Im not aware about any overdue which i owe to anyone against any card or bank loan ...i would reuest the authorities to please get in touch with me asap to give me details about these defaults so that i can speak with the concerned banks to get this sorted...
please reach me at my email add :nikita.[protected]@gmail.com
I am using HSBC credit card for more than last six months. I have always paid my dues before 20-35 days. Now they are charging me for finance charges. I don't know why? because I am not a defaulter with any dues or even I didn't take any cash advances from atm etc.
It's very sad with using HSBC credit cards. They say it's world's Local bank.
              I said it's world's Cheater bank.
This is happened when i was hospitalised for Delivery, on the first day of the arrival we swiped fro Rs.5000/- after about 4 days we swiped for 10, 000 medical expenses.

After about 15 days itself i got my statement showing RS.5000 alone in my statement and i paid it ontime.

The next month statement was not received on time and it was late for about 15 days(that too i called and requested for it). The statement is on time printed it shows late payment charges and service charges etc.,

I made payment of Rs. 10, 000 only. These are all happened in August 2007 I have already met so many collection executive ...nobody is ready to sort of out this issue, finally a person who came requested for a payment of Rs.2800/-. I negotiated and paid Rs.2500 towards full and final settlement to close this issue. Even after that it shows a balance of Rs. 17, 500 / -.

There is no right person to settle these things also...

Mr. Chidambaram has to take remedial actions to settle down Credit card issues.I have a pucca plan to solve consumer problems wtih regard to credit cards.

              warm regards

              Hi,

I am Raghavendra working in medium range Software Company. One back HSBC marketing agent approached to my company and provided the credit card for free of cost and said its life time free card there be no any processing fees and annual fees or charges on the credit card. During the verification process HSBC customer care called me said the same about charges.

But now, after 1 year 2 months they charged 700 + 72.10(Service tax) for primary card and 350 + 36.05(Service tax) for add-on card. I called up customer care, they saying that they decided to have charges from this year.

Even without informing me, HSBC charged Rs. 1158.15 in current month’s bill.

If they could informed me last month, I would have been cancelled the credit card last month itself. Please can I know any contact to resolve this problem?

HSBC — Credit cards payment and Loan Payments

              Dear Sir,

This is to bring to your notice that I borrowed RS 175000/- from HSBC ( A/C no. is[protected].
My EMI was settled at 5096 pm. One year continuously paid the EMI properly. Suddenly I was jobless and same informed to HSBC via email. I was unable to paid almost one year, then again I got a job and started paying the EMI. I contacted to one of executive in HSBC for resettlement and His name was Mr. Nitin. He settled the amount in 80000/- where as my remaining total EMI was one lakh something.
I given him 50000/- with proper manner. But it was for me very hectic. The rest of the amount i requested to change it to short EMI but there was a executive Mr. Ajay Verma. He dint listen me and said he ready for 50000 then only it could converted into EMI not in 30000/-.I requested that as per my new job status I could only pay the minimum amount. Because I was running with HSBC credit card too ([protected]). now its almost 81000/- principle amount which I have to pay. I applied the same request to Disha, rohini ( its an NGO). they forwarded my request to HSBC for resettlement for the both credit card and loan repayments. But I dint get any response from HSBC.

Today I am hospitalized due to Major Abscess and operated from AIIMS. I am Mentally down where as three weeks continuously on bed. Now I am getting calls from HSBC Loan dept. stating that I have to pay the full amount. I reminded them as I paid already half of the payments. but they said there is no update in the bank. and they are threatening with "Legal" words that it can be submitted in Legal dept. and my life will spoil. the same day, I am getting call from Credit card dept too stating that pay the principle amount or go for settlement.

Dear Sir, right now my situation is very critical. and I need favor on this case as at least six month will provided by HSBC to repay the amount. because now, I am unable to pay the same and same thing will heat my brain every time. and the result will be nothing or may be i wll loss my lfe.

              Please Help!!

HSBC Credit Card — Excess Bill more than my limit

              Hello Sir,

I have taken a HSBC Credit Card in the year 2006 and my limit was 15000/- first i have used 10, 000/- and i have been paying minimum amount of Rs.500 and in between i have using the card, later i have also paid Rs.6000 and after few months i have swiped for purchasing the computer i.e 5000/- but for few months they did not send me the credit card statement and asked me to paying Rs. 19000/- where i have not utilised that much of amount because i was under the impression that my limit was 15000/- only, but bank people gave me a call asking me paying for Rs.19000/- i was shocked that why my bill has come for rs. 19000/- where else my limit was only 15000/ but they told me that my limit has been increased, i asked them whether they have informed me regarding this or did they send me any letter about the enhancement of my limit, the same i have informed the customer care but they told my that for good customer they will not inform regarding enhancement and later they asked me the email ID for sending the statement, but as of now i have not yet received the statement of my Credit Card because of which i stopped payment for more than one year. Now they have put me in defaultor list in CIBIL. If i am a defaultor i would have not paid any loan to any bank. I have taken two personal loans from ICICI and Citi Bank, but i have cleared my personal loan without any cheque bounch and also i have taken two wheeler loan from HDFC bank also where i have cleared the whole amount without any cheque bounch and also i have received the No Objection certificate of bank regarding my clearance of my loan, Now how can i be the defaultor. I purposely did not paid the amount for HSBC credit card for the excess bill.

Last week i have settled the amount for 15000/- wherein i have the receipt and letter of closing, but they have not removed my name from the defaultor list in CIBIL till now.

Hence i request you to do justice regarding this because i trust the consumer forum a lot, If you ask the HSBC bank to remove my name from CIBIL i would be grateful to the government, because i don't want to spoil my career.

              Thanks,

              Nannaram

              Re : Credit Card No.[protected]

I am employed with Everest Industries Limited having office at Mumbai. In or about Feb 2006, your marketing representative visited my Thane office and gave demo for the usage features of your card. While I was inquiring about the features of your card, your marketing representative obtained my signatures on some forms and obtained some documents from me for purpose of noting my name as “interested member” for filling inquiry form. Subsequently your Bank Credit Card bearing No[protected] was posted to me at my office address.

I say that without my using your card, your Bank sent me statement for Rs.210/-.approximately. I say that I immediately called your customer care number putting forth my grievance and called upon them to cancel my card and terminate services with immediate effect. I also called upon them to sent me letter for “No claim”, to which they showed their inability and stated that same is granted only in case where there is any dispute above Rs.1000/-, however they assured me that card is cancelled and services are terminated. I say that subsequent thereof, I have not received any statement from your bank till date.

I say that from last about 15 days, I am receiving sms from your bank for payment of Rs.4570/- towards aforesaid credit card pending bills. I had never imagine of such conduct from Big Banking Corporation like yours. I say that without usage of your services, how can I be made and forced to pay charges levied by you. I put forth my grievances with your customer care at Ram Maruti Rd branch, Thane who showed their inability to locate my bills and pending dues. They were also unable to provide me any Bank statement though I was ready and willing to bear the cost for same. I say that I also spoke to Mr.66667070 of your Bank collection centre at Mumbai,[protected] who responded to me rudely as if I am bring defaulter / criminal. I say that thereafter I spoke to your Delhi Recovery Cell at Telephone No[protected]/45023968 with Mr.Basant, who was also not able to resolve to my problem or provide me statisfactory reply.

The said act of your to grab heavy & exorbitant amount from me for no fault of mine speaks of your volumes and attitudes to procure money by adhering to illegal means & making trap for the innocent customers like me.

I am therefore now constrained to put forth my grievance in writing for necessary action and resolution of my grievance. Request you please look into this matter and advise what should be my next step.
              Yours truly,

Actually HSBC is a fraud bank practising in India. its license should be removed and no longer allowed to continue its services.

ICICI is the best bank for Indian working conditions. They understand our needs and provide ful feedbacka nd customer satisfaction.
              HI Manoj,

I am also in same trouble as you are. Have you resolved this issue? if yes, please guide me to resolve the issue.

HSBC Credit Card — CIBIL not updated with Credit card Closure and Current Balance

              Hi,

I had a credit card (card no. [protected]) and it has been closed 1 year back. The closing request number is "[protected]". I was confirmed that the card is closed and the outstanding balance is Zero.

According to CIBIL report, i found the closure of the card and zero out standing balance is not updated with CIBIL. The report shows the current balance as Rs. 5939/-. This is impacting my credit history. I want the HSBC Bank Credit cards division to update the closure & current balance information to CIBIL as it would definetly hurt me if i have to opt for any loan.

              Sir,
I have applied Personal Loan in ABN AMRO Bank in Dec 2009 and after scrutiny process of my credit history with CIBIL; my loan application has been rejected by ABN bank.
I have checked with CIBIL regarding my credit history and from their report, came to know that I am the defaulter at HSBC bank for some Credit Card accounts. The detail is as follows
              Account Dates Amount Status
              HSBC BANK Opened:[protected] H.Credit:2, 90, 459 Written Off

              [protected] Closed:[protected] Overdue: 2, 90, 459
              Reported:[protected]

I want to share with you that in my entire life I never received Card “[protected]“. I called up your customer care and confirm the details about above Credit Account. I was completely shocked when I came to know that above card is on my name but Wrong Address, Wrong Date of Birth and all other information except Name.

This means this report showing all invalid data to my credit history. For this concern I requested CIBIL and HSBC customer care to correct my Credit History. They informed me that this process can be initiated only from HSBC bank as they provided that information.

I request you to please help me. process.

              Thanks a lot in advance!!!
This is very painful for me to become a HSBC customer, I got a credit card from HSBC credit card champagne scheme. At offer they said there is no annual charges, I never used this card for any transaction and there is no overdue amount to bank. Bank put some annual charges at the year end which they reversed also himself. I requested to bank to close my account as this card was not being used for me from a long time, There is no payment due from my side and everything is clear. After this HSBC put as a WRITTEN OFF satus in CIBIL report which looses my credit history this is very ridicules and don’t except this kind of behavior from a MNC bank.I am fed up now from HSBC and feeling very disgusting that I was a customer of HSBC and writing this to you now. HSBC will lose its credibility also in future from this kind of behavior
              Hi Manooj,

              hi guys
Kindly refer Times of India Feb-24-2010 Bangalore Edition. There is some relief coming our way.

              the article says

RBI to set norms on credit card bills
‘Banks cannot seek written off dues’

New Delhi: If you are among thousands of credit card holders who have been blacklisted in the banks’ central database even after dues have been settled, there’s some relief coming your way. The Reserve Bank of India is framing guidelines telling banks not to declare someone a defaulter if the person has settled his or her account with the bank after paying the negotiated amount.
At present, even if a card holder pays the negotiated amount, the client is continued to be treated as a defaulter in the bank’s records. Because of this, the name features in the defaulters list prepared by Credit Information Bureau of India Ltd (CIBIL), which depends on the information provided by banks for the purpose.
This makes most loans off-limits for the ‘blacklisted’ person ^ be it a personal or house loan ^ from any bank or finance company. Left with no choice, the customer has to settle the new bill raised by the bank, which is the ‘balance amount’ from the earlier settlement plus penalties and interest. “The present practice is nothing short of blackmail of customers by banks’’, said a harassed customer Arvind Gupta (name changed), who is CEO of an IT company. He had to pay Rs 75, 000 recently to clear his dues, which had previously been settled for 50% of the then outstanding amount ^ Rs 6, 200 in 2001. He was forced to pay when his home loan application was turned down by a bank as he was in CIBIL’s defaulter list.
An RBI spokesperson said the central bank is seized of the matter and will soon come out with an appropriate solution. CIBIL MD Arun Thukral said that RBI has held a series of meeting on the issue with banks and CIBIL. He said at present when dues are settled with a customer, the bank usually treats the rest of the amount as “written off’’.
However, in many cases, it has been found that banks raise demand for a small leftover amount, which according to the customer should not have been there at all. In many cases, it’s the annual fees which the banks had said won’t be charged.
Take for the example of Arun Sharma (name changed), who works for a big corporation. After he had disputed a bill of Rs 900 raised by the bank, he was told to settle the dues by paying Rs 450. However, he continued to receive statements which first showed Rs 450 as outstanding and then the amount kept increasing. After a while, he received a call from the bank asking him to clear his dues of around Rs 1, 000.
The bank again offered to settle the dues for the 50% of the amount and said it will issue him an “all dues cleared’’ certificate if he made the payment. Sharma paid Rs 500 but the certificate from the bank never came. Meanwhile, he continued to receive statements on the outstanding amount which has now grown to Rs 7, 000. His credit rating with CIBIL is also at risk.
Thukral said RBI was very serious about intervening in the matter.

Hope this will bring some relief to many

              Nathan
              It seem a nice post.

I think there should be some norms :

              For example:-

If credit score goes above xx points AND last 24 months credit history is improved the person should come out of the default list and can be some other norms as well.
I too have trapped by HDFC and SCB. When I applied for home loan I got to know my disputed outstanding amount which was 400 and 500 respectively (due to wrongly charged annual fee), have become now 5000 rs.

I paid my outstanding but its been one month and Bank has not updated my cinil record.

whom should i contact for HDFC and SCB related CIBIL query ?

main issue is they dont give any person's contact number and solving issue over the mail by these folks take ages.

I took a credit card from HSBC in the year 2008 and closed after 4 months without making any transactions.

Now I applied for SBI House Loan and they said I have a "written off" amount with HSBC bank. I contacted HSBC and they said that I have a TATA AIG policy attached with credit card. But I never applied for the insurance policy.

They also sent a application form for the insurance policy, the signature on the application form is not my signature.

This is not fair on their part.
Saying an international bank they are doing this kind of fraud.

Please guys never apply for HSBC credit cards. They will try to cheat you.
Please allow me to introduce myself my name is Michael Mason-Mahon and I am a shareholder of HSBC Plc. I am based in London yet I am a very regular visitor to India.

At HSBC Annual General Meeting of Shareholders 2010 I did address my concerns with the Board of Directors concerning what HSBC India has been doing and is doing in India to our customers.

I may be able to help you. I can assure you that I will do all that I can to help you. I have been very successful in the people that I have taken up their cases with HSBC. Now they will not let me help anymore Indian's. You may wonder why, ask the Chairman of HSBC Plc Mr Flint why.

Please go to this site. This is an interview that I did concerning HSBC.

              http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...

If customers UNITE in India and decide to leave HSBC India in support of their fellow Indian's, who are making complaints about HSBC India then this may make HSBC Plc take action.
They talk about their Global Footprint and their Integrity. Please look at the following sites and see what the Indian people are saying about HSBC behaviour towards them.

experienced similar problem with SCB, summary of the issue is..

I came to know that my SCB card status turned to written off in CIBIL, because my PL got rejected in last month. called to customer care they said that they don't have access to see transaction more than a year, for the entire year they can only see that 350/-charged every month (300 as tax, 50 as service charages).. when I digged to this issue with SCB backend department. .

There is some problem with my JUNE2007 bill pay.. as per statement it got delayed one day, so they charged. 250 RS interest, acutally the same month before interest got charged into my a/c I used 23800 (24k limit), because of interest it got exceeded the limit 24k, so extra 500/- charged as overlimit. Trust me as I don't have any communication (mail/email/message/call) from lender so I just paid 23800 in the next month. so this 250(JUn2007) now turned to 13000 (MAR 2011)..

              some interesting facts are..
              1. even SCB backend team confirmed that no communcation made to me either mail/email/sms/call from MAY 2007
              2. a/c status in their records showing as closed, but still they are charging 350(300 interste+50 service chage) every month
              3. When I asked about service charge (50/-) what it contains, they said that they are not sure what it includes since i may ask about no communcation
              4. why no statement - they said sicne there is no trasactions in your a/c (apart form intestests) so no statement sent to your email.
              5. now to get rid off written off status in CIBIL, I have to pay whole 13000 for not using the card from past 4 years. even they are telling that they can update OVERDUE and Current balance fileds only .. WRITTEN OFF status could be something xxxxxxx(not sure), apart from this they are willing to issue (NDC) no due certificate..

so guys, whoever read this post my honoroble request for you is - please track your all cards dues every month either through online/calling to customer to avoid un-ncessary issues in future.. otherwise close the card a/c's which don't require any more..

My HSBC credit card [protected] was settled on 24.05.2011. But JM Financial associate of HSBC Bank sent me a letter o 1.05.2013 which I received just one week before at my home Kolkata showing a balance of Rs.49831.64. This is gross irresponsibility /mistake/blunder of the Bank that they did not incorporate the right message to their associate.
It's my request to take a positive action against this type of knowing mistake for harassing civilian continuously.

                Dear Sir / Madam,

When I was in bangalore in the year 2005 and the credit card was issued in Bangalore itself from HSBC branch . I have done some purchases in 2005 only. The Collection Agency chased me like anything for getting the payment to the credit card. If you see the statement which is of

                Total Purchases of 28551.49/-
                Total Reversal Amount was 7070.55/-
                Final Purchase comes to 21480.94/-

                Where in totality

I have paid the amount 26300/-

Which is extra than Final Purchase.

Now your Bank HSBC has made me Blacklisted in CIBIL and telling me in the mail to pay the outstanding amount to
                around 49000/- including charges.

You also said me on the phone via agency that if I again pay the settlement amount from the principal which is 16000, again HSBC won't be removing my name from the CIBIL. Now tell me why the Principal Amount is Outstanding?
As i have paid to this credit earlier more than 5000/-

I am trying from the different banks for getting the car loan / home loan, but it is always getting rejected. I am really helpless now and you are not listening me at all. Just Playing the game. Do you know how much i am in trauma. Please do also consider my last e-mail to you, as this type of behaviour from your bank may result in Committing Suicide of myself and all the HSBC will be responsibile for brearing the loss of someones life. I am so much in the trauma / depression that I am not getting any credit from any bank due to Blacklisted in my name. All of my paper work is ok and purchase power is good and in last all banks say me that my application is rejected due to problem in CIBIL.

Please remember I won't be paying any charges amount which is clubbing to in HSBC closed credit card [protected], as you never ever intimated me or followed up with me to get the amount settled, you and your collection team are just watching and waiting to get this amount clubbed, you are just making the money from wrong types of protocol followed up.

Tata AIG Home Insurance — No cancellation charges mentioned while offering policies

                  hi,

I have been cheated by Tata Aig people.Though i was not interested at all in opting the policy,
i had been forced to go through the policy. The Policy amount was deducted from my account. The person never mentioned about the cancellation charges.
If he would have mentioned i wouldn have lost my hard earned money for this cheap policy.
Now i have been complaining them from past 3 months to get back my amount, no progress is shown.Everytime i enquire, a new complaint is forwarded, but no response. We have to sue such companies for cheating the people.
same here. I havent taken any policy from tata aig, just had a word with them but my hsbc card get deductions from tata aig.
what to do, I want to sue Tata Aig for this!

                  HSBC CREDIT CARD NO [protected]
                  MOBILE NO [protected]
hsbc is a bank hand in glove with tata -aig insurance i was given the details on the phone and i was informed that i can cancell the health insurance any time within a period of 90 days till date i did not receive any such policy and i got the sms on 1st june 2009 that policy has been dispatched but not yet received .
hsbc has levied all unwanted late charges and it is the duty of hsbc to verify this things
with customer..hsbc is also at a fault.
                  Hi,

I completely agree with all the complaints about the hsbc and tata aig duo. Without the concerned party's signature tata is issuing the policy and the customer will not be knowing how authenticated the policy would be since he/she may approach the insurance company only when there is a typical need, only then the true colours of it is experienced. On top of it there's no proper customer care to address the customer needs.

It feels so awkward when bank (like HSBC) the so called trustworthy, legally bounded, is working like this.
even i was forced into buying a tata aig health policy thru my hsbc credit card for 10 rupees for 1st month. but since i saw the problems u faced regarding cancellation, i took the policy the very next day to the TATA AIG office, surrendered it to them fo cancelaation, and got it written from them on a piece of paper that i have submitted the policy for cancellation. they just cannot refuse a cancellation once u visit their office. then, i mailed the paper back to HSBC and told them to stop all payments to TATA AIG as they have accepted the policy for cancellation.

no charges levied, policy cancelled, 1 day wasted.

my motto for future--> jus disconnect the call as soon as they start talking about a policy, thats the only way to get out of their tentacles at that time( they wont charge u for disconnecting the call )...
you guys are true but dont you think the Bank had done the mistake first. Bank had given all its clients data to the TATA Aig. which is a crime and then after without taking any confirmation from its customer that you are agreed with the terms & conditions of the TATA aig policy.

                  Bank is in Guilty.

we should not go for this type of BANk use our Nationalised bank only...This all are scheduled bank who charges more than the nationalised bank.

if TATA Aig's Executive call you again for the payment of the policy for which you were not agree take it then after by mistake you got it hard copy at your home or you cancelled it, then dont worry for that. Do a complaint in Grahak shuraksha and then after leave it to them. bank will call you finaly and will say for the settlement then dont go for it too.

you Had not taken the policy, No any signature is there on the policy documents or One most important thing is that they had not recorded any call uptill now. I am sure about that.

dont worry This is your life this is your money.

no body will get it from you.

live happy forget all the worries.

                  Bye n take care
                  Got it friends.
Same here, almost 2yrs back i was convinced/forced to take the HSBC card by an Executive by telling all his personal problems, he did not mention/update me anything about the TATA AIG insurance, he just told me that it was a life time free card. After 3 months i saw a statement from the HSBC bank asking me to pay some 300 /-, when i called them they said that the amount will be cleared within 15 days, but got another statement of 800/- after which i asked to cancel the card but even now i am getting the statements and the amount is piled up to 8000/-.

Even after so many phone calls and emails there is no justification from the bank.
Can somebody tell how to resolve this issue?

                  [protected]@gmail.com
As such the same here also just a phone inquiry is bringing the same as to certain of my friends, who had the amount of more than 10, 000 debited from their accounts without their knowledge and that the banks are hand in glove for this incident.

All of you better do not provide any details if anybody from TATA AIG, as the call is being made from HSBC call center and that they are known to prepare all the statements without any needed approval from you and that they are CHEATING.
I am very much annoyed when several time called to HSBC customer care for renewal the policy as given it forcefully by TATA AIG. But HSBC customercare executive always given wrong toll free no. of Tata AIG. And one very much interesting subject is that there is not mentioned any phone no/toll free no. on insurance certificate. I don't know how such type of insurance companay is doing business in india and convincing the people to take their policy only and comparison to other indian policy also. I request to sr officer of insurance to take care this matter seriously and confirm us immediately.
I got yesterday the policy document . But these documents are photocopy . IT is not original TAT AIG self printed signed/stamped document.

                  Dear Sir,
I don't know, at the time of any incident how insurance agent will rely on me with this photocopies of the policy documents, whic I have received yesterday.checking of the document carried out at maruti workshop they told me that their surveyor will not accept these documents.

These policy document must be stamped with company seal duly signed by authorised signatory.
Pl. send me original copy of policy documents by this weekend.

                  policy number [protected]

Also as discussed over phone with u people that TATA AIG secure policy that it will give assurance of 100% coverage of each and every part of the car.

But in documents u have mentioned only partial coverage of car parts.
I am totally dis-appointed by the way people are working with customer.
U should tell the customer in advance those things, that waht u can give to customer.

Waiting for the original hard copy of documents with stamped and duly signed one. on urgent.

                  Will wait by weekend.

Then I will go for legal actions.

I have been continuously receiving calls from your call centre for making payments toward my HSBC gold card. I have not mad the payment for the last due as on 11th sep 2008, I would just like to bring to your notice that why have I not made the payment. I have a credit card of HSBC bank on which I have given a request for balance transfer facility for an amount of 22617/- on 6th of Feb. 2008, later on it was informed to me on 15th Feb. 08 from phone banking that BT request has been disapproved because of some error in my CITI card. I agreed to that & got the error's rectified in CITI bank & again applied for a BT of 25000.00 on 17th Feb. 08 which was approved & I received the DD for an amount of 25000.00 for my CITI card, later on I received a balance transfer on 11th April 08 (DD dated 4th April 08) for an amount of 22617/- which was cancelled as per the phone banking. I called up the phone banking on 12th to know that why the DD has been sent, to my surprise it was told to me that your old request was later on processed for which I didn't repeated the request as it was cancelled. The phone banking people asked me to send the DD along with a letter to any of the branch for the cancellation of the same. I did the same & got the DD submitted to the CP branch in Delhi. On enquiring on 20th march I came to know that the DD has not been cancelled I asked the reason phone banking people said that you have to give an indemnity for cancellation as the DD was lost in transit by the bank. I said that is not my fault but then also I will give the indemnity. I went to the Punjabi bagh branch in Delhi on 2nd April where I came to know that the indemnity has to be given in a 200rs stamp paper. I called up the phone banking to know why I should pay the charges for the error which has been made by the phone banking people. They said sorry for the error from their side, in lieu they will credit 5000 bonus points to my a/c. I agreed to pay the stamp charges & get the DD cancelled. I again called up the phone banking on 6th April to know the status weather the DD has been cancelled or not, it was not cancelled, I asked about the bonus point it was also not credited, I asked about why it has not yet happened, they said there is some delay they will credit the amount to the card as soon as possible, also said that the 5000 points would not be possible to credit as that is too much I said that why then it was confirmed to me that this would be possible. I talked to the manager on the floor she said that she can credit 1000 points & get the DD cancelled in another 3-4 working days again I agreed to their saying. I again called them on 17th April to check the status weather the same has been cancelled or not, again the same delay & they said they will call me in 3-4 working days after the DD is cancelled, I said o.k. I did receive a call back on 29th April saying that the DD has been credited to the CITI card on 17th of March. I checked with CITI it was not credited. I again called up the HSBC on 30th April to tell the status that the DD has not been credited in the CITI card, to my surprise Mr. Gaurav who gave me a call back on 29th April said we will send the letter saying that the same has been credited to my CITI card I said ok send the letter. So far I have not received the letter or the amount back into my card or the bonus points, it has been more than 7months no revert, and now I am regularly receiving calls from your collection department to make the payment, you tell me why I should make the payment. When these collection agents call me, I always inform about the problem, every time they say they will get back to me but I haven’t heard any one calling me. I have also forwarded a complaint with ombudsman for a compensation of Rs 10 lakhs, for your reference my complaint no[protected]. I have also written mails to [protected]@hsbc.co.in, [protected]@enterprise.in, Rajneesh bahl, but I have not received any revert. I don’t have any hopes from HSBC but I have some hopes still left from banking Ombudsman. May be this will open your eyes & probably something can be done on this.
After all these Ombudsman has sorted out the problem, by getting the refund of the service charges & the amount of 22617/-, but I am looking for the compensation as I have been harassed by the HSBC for a long time.
I have been traumatized by the calls from HSBC, I have lost my job because of the problem, I have received many threats to make deposits from HSBC. Letters have been sent to me to make calls. Interests have been charged, I have been made to feel that i am guilty for what I have not done, request you to kindly look into the matter.

HSBC are treating their customers atrociously. They changed many customers Terms and Conditions to ensure they could charge 'Informal Overdraft Fees' at £25 per transaction. It is nothing short of theft and the charges bear no proportion to the amount of overdraft as they are PER TRANSACTION. I am planning to put in a claim through the small claims court and I suggest every other customer who has experienced similar charges does the same.

                        Sir,
i have paid the total due of my credit card no[protected] vide cheque no-546217 dt-17 march, 2007 in full and final settlement of their account and never used the card after that. I am astonished at the callous behavior of the bank in updating my account that despite my repeated requests, i have been receiving the escalated bills and above all the letters from their subsequent lawyers to pay the amount. I being a working lady am unable to follow the case and want them to upgrade the account information falling which i will be left with no other option except approaching the court of law for filing a defamation/harrasement suit against them. It is quite clear beyond doubts that these bankers have been working with bunch of dropouts from different management/financial institutes under indian atmosphere without taking care of customers rights. Had it been a case in their respective countries they would have been sued for millions of dollors which in fact they should have been by now.
I would once again request the concerned authorities to take preventive measures so as to avoid any furthur hassles in settling the accounts and make life miserable for a law abiding citizen of india.

HSBC Credit Cards — False Promotions and promises

HSBC Card holders beware!!! False promotions to lure customers and then not delivering on them is a norm for these people.

They run promotions on the credit card services and then make it impossible for you to avail of the prizes or gifts on technical grounds.

They are currently running a promotion saying activate your online banking and win reward points or other stuff, but will create such hurdles in your operating your online account that you will never be able to achieve it!!!

Best part is, nobody will answer your questions and when you call their call centres, you will be put on hold for 26 minutes and then disconnect without even an apology!!!

Really a very sad state of affairs here!!!... So, beware!!!
                        To,
                        Customer Relationship Manager,
                        HSBC Bank
                        Mumbai

Subject: False billing for credit card

                        Dear Madam / Sir,
In relation to the above subject, please note that I had received credit card no. [protected] in February, 2006. I had not shown any interest in getting the card but after repeated request and promotion I, however, took it. At the time of issuing it I was assured that it is a free-for-lifetime card and I will not have to pay any charges what so ever in the future for it.

I have not used the card for any purchase or payment till date, even I didn’t signed on the card yet.

However, after some months I started receiving bill statements. When I communicated with your call center guys, I was told to make the payment first and then only will they be able to solve my problem.

The amount due has reached to Rs. 3247.16/-

Over and above, I got a shock of my life when I received a letter from your side stating that you have deducted Rs 245.15 from my HSBC savings account, without informing me or taking my permission.

For no fault of mine I am being subjected to mental harassment and torture for last 3 years.

The fault lies with your system and services because when I have not used the card what is the bill for?

Why false promise of free-for-lifetime card was made to me at the onset?

I hope you will look in to the matter at the earliest and provide me relief by cancelling all the bill statements.

If I do not get any positive response from your side in month’s time, I will be forced to take legal action against your bank.

                        Regards

                        HSBC

This is to bring to your notice that I Syed Tajjuddin was a customer of your bank having credit card number: [protected] have stopped using your credit card from 15 December 2005 closed the card and cleared all the dues pending on my credit card account. After this I started receiving statement stating 1487cr balance in my card account, when I inquired with HSBC bank customer care about the matter they clarified that it is a credit balance showing on your account and will be refunded to you. The balance did not reached instead the statement kept on coming; several reminders to the customer care for closing the account had fallen in deaf ears.

I had applied for a personal loan with HDFC bank on dated 12/7/09 and it declined. They gave me a control number and said to contact CIBIL.On contacting them to my utmost surprise I had received a reply mail stating that I was a defaulter with HSBC bank and the bank has notified the CIBIL about my status on 28 Feb 2009. How can this be possible when there was a credit balance showing in my account and several of your statement is a prove of that.

On getting the status of CIBIL on 15/7/09 I once again called up the customer care who said the same verbatim which earlier his colleagues have said that there is a credit balance on your account. On inquiring about why they have notified my name in CIBIL the customer care executive could not provide me with an appropriate answer. When I said that I wanted to speak to the manager regarding this, he put me on hold and never got back I waited patiently for half an hour holding the pone and then disconnected it.

On the next day I decided to go to the bank head office which is at 31, BBD Bagh Kolkata-01, and seek clarification, I was shuttled from one place to another and then finally I met Gulshan Singh who looking at my case could not give me satisfactory answer that why my name has been included in defaulter list when I had a credit balance in my card account. On exchanging heated argument with him he told me to send a mail and he will look in to the matter. Not getting a proper reply I wanted to meet the branch manager for clarification but to my vain the BM was not available, they directed me to Asst branch manager who also told me the same story that give me in writing and they I will see what can be done.

Is this the way bank teats its customers. Let me know what is my fault and why am I harassed for no fault of mine. Is this the state of service of such a repute bank which is looked upon? It gives a very sorry picture and leaves a bad taste in mouth.

I would like to have a clarification from the bank that why my name was sent to CIBIL, why the bank did not contact me before doing so. And also let me know that when my name will be cleared from CIBIL and my money refunded with interest.

Looking for a response from the bank at the earliest.

                        Syed Tajjuddin

                        My Card No - [protected]
                        Issue - Payment Issue

Its regarding the payment issue i tried calling HSBC customer call center and collection Dept numbers but getting no positive response from them they are pointing each other for resolving the issue.
Even i want to resolve the issue but HSBC customer executive are too lazy and incapable to do the same.
I am not responsible for any delay and i am not even convince HSBC sending my name to CIBIL as matter is still in dispute.

                          Hi,

I hold a home loan in HSBC, have been paying some amount as EMI everymonth. Six months back, i made a prepayment of Rs.1, 00, 000 and the customer service personnel said, there will not be any change in the monthly EMI, but the number of tenure only would reduce, which is fine, i said. I was paying the same EMI to the collection executive for last 6 months, suddenly when i checked my account, was surprised to see they are deducting only half the amount of my EMI against loan payment, which means EMI has been reduced but number of months remains the same..!!! Is this the usual practice of every bank? Can someone please enlighten??

I am Sohom Mahapatra, from Gurgaon, India. While receiving a phone call from HSBC representative in the month of January 2008 and had approached to hold a credit card, she had committed me that this is LIFE TIME FREE CARD, only this kind of facilities they do provide to corporate personnel. I was impressed and had agreed upon. On February 21st, 2008. I had received one envelop and found my credit card along with one extra Ad-on card in the name of my mother too at my office address. While first time discussing with them, I had never approached them for extra Ad-on card and accordingly they had committed to provide my card, but they had sent two cards !!! Since those are life time free cards, I thought I would utilize them some other time.

The most important part is still I have not taken those cards out of the cover letter, sent by HSBC (normally they are pasted on bottom of the cover letter). Suddenly in the month of August (Dtd. 21/08/2008), directly without any statement or phone call, I got a Warning Letter from HSBC that Rs. 3, 521.17 are balance to pay on my credit card. If I fail to pay those amounts, they would complain my name in RBI Defaulter Register, resulting which I would not be able to avail any financial support from any Indian Financial Institution. I was shocked !!! Without using any card and without receiving any statement how HSBC can send such kind of stupid letter ? What HSBC wants from common people ???

I had never used my cards, neither I have opened it out from the letter - How I would got charged Rs. 3, 521.17 ? This was completely life time free card. Even I had tried to contact the given phone number on the warning letter, I had failed, because no one is picking up the telephone. I tried to contact their customer service department more than 100 times, I had failed to contact due to their typical telephone system. Fortunately I could contact them on September 29, 2008, one customer service executive had advised me to contact their third party agent on phone number +[protected], on an average everyday I use to call on this number, thinking in line that this time some body will pick up my phone, but every time I failed. They have no data-base at all !!! Why their top management is not closing these issues ??? This will help them to rise their business and people will have a good faith on HSBC.

Where we should go for justice ? Such a big financial institution in the world, they are having huge lac of communications, by which they can make a defaulter easily to a good citizen. This made me frustrated.

If you can help me out, I shall be thankful to you.

                              Regards,
                              Sohom Mahapatra

AVG — Credit card charged but no service

I had bought the AVG paid version on 30th January, 2011. My credit card was charged, However it was a transaction failed status. I have been trying to contact them but without any result. I have sent email with my credit card details to [protected]@milestoneinteractive.com, but no one even cared to reply me. Its not expected from a reputed company like AVG.

My HSBC card number was [protected], The a/c was closed due to one Insurance dispute. I never had shown my interest for TATA AIG Insurance, without my knowledge they had sent it to me. As per HSBC's covering letter, if for any queries, I should contact with TATA-AIG directly. I had sent queries, unfortunately no reply. HSBC started putting EMI on my statement. I had never got monthly statement in time, for this I had done several request over telephone and over mails, no action had initiated. For normal usage of the card, I had paid the whole amount.

I had tried to contact their customer services, experienced a very uncomfortable facilities over there.
Recently I had a talk with their two representatives in their Mumbai Office ([protected]-Automatic diverted to Mumbai), they said they cannot help it out, only I have to contact with HSBC's third party agency, they had provided 4 telephone numbers :

                                [protected]
                                [protected]
                                [protected]
                                [protected]

While calling the first one, he said that he has stopped doing business with HSBC one year back. Rest 3 numbers are only ringing, no body is picking up the telephone. Strange what data-base HSBC is using !!!

Now I want to resolve this issue, I have sent mails to their customer services also ([protected]@hsbc.co.in).

Request you if anyone helps me out. I want to get out of this unnecessary dispute, I have no faith on any credit cards. Better for those people, who are living in village, they do not require such credit cards, neither they get such huge pain in life...

Lastly I started communicating to mail at [protected]@hsbc.co.in... unfortunately I have been getting reply mails that :

                                Their reply as follows :

                                On Nov. 19, 2008
"We acknowledge receipt of your complaint regarding TATA AIG policy and have registered the same under reference no [protected]. Please allow us 4 to 5 working days to investigate the matter conclusively by when a final response would be shared with you."

                                On Nov. 13, 2008
"We would like to inform you that we have forwarded your message to the respective department under request reference number [protected] and our collection officer will contact you in 3 working days and they will assist you accordingly with your query pertaining to credit card "

                                On Nov. 12, 2008
"We acknowledge receipt of your complaint and have registered the same under reference no/feedback no:[protected] Please allow us 4 to 5 working days to investigate the matter conclusively by when a final response would be shared with you."

                                Please advise me.

Initially Mr. Rahul had provided a number of Mr. Kamal [protected], after contacting this number they have informed me that one year back they had stopped doing business with you.

After re-contacting with your Mumbai office on the above number, Mr. Rayan had given me following phone numbers and contact persons:

[protected] – Contact Person : Hardeep Sabharwal
[protected] – Contact Person : Gaurav Girdhar
[protected] – Contact Person : Abdul Khan

I had tried to contact them more than 100 times throughout the day, no body had attended the phone call. All the phone numbers were ringing every time.

Yesterday I had a talk with your customer care at Gurgaon, they have also advised me that they cannot help me out, except to contact the above persons. They also advised me to send a mail to them, but unfortunately I do not have any contact e-mails of above persons.

I would request you to resolve this dispute as early as possible.

I would like to inform you that my card number is [protected]. The a/c was closed due to one Insurance dispute. I had several phone calls and e-mails to the concerned, but I did not get any reply. I had a huge redeemed points in my credit card, it was removed. As per your advise in your letter, dtd. July 06, 2006 (Attached herewith), I had sent a mail with some queries on July 10, 2006 to Tata AIG at [protected]@tata-aig.com, but unfortunately I did not get any reply. The said mail is attached herewith for your ready reference, please.

If you see my earlier credit history for my credit card with your bank, you would realize that my intention was not to stop payment. Your representative had called me, I had advised “please send information, let me go through, then only I shall revert you back”. I had never agreed for such insurance policy, suddenly I had received Insurance certificate from HSBC during 1st week of July 2006. After that I had sent the above attached mail, but I did not get reply.

Please let me know to whom should I contact in this regard, so that this dispute can be resolved at the earliest.

Thanking you in advance for your co-operation in this matter, please.

I agreed to disablity insurance on Furniture Row account. I became disabled on 8-28-08. I put in a claim in December of 2008 after jumping through hoops to get the claim filed, a rep. tells me that my insurance was canceled on Jan. 2nd 2009. The rep. tried to tell me I canceled it. I was very persistant in denying this lie. He finally admited there was internal reveiw that decided to cancel my insurance. I think the timing was kinda strange. This is a company that can not be trusted and has no ethics or morals.
My mother always told me you never know how good your insurance is until you have to use it. I guess I learned that lesson today.
                                Dear Sir/Madam

Some 1 yrs back 2008 i was approached by HSBC credit card agents who kept on following up with me till i agreed to apply for their life time free crdit card. I had never used the credit card. After 1 yr i received a call from the bank that i had outstanding balance of Rs 4000.On enquiring about the transaction the bank told me that the same has been deducted towards TATA AIG General Insurance premium.I was shocked to hear that since i had neither applied for the same nor received any such policy either from TATA AIG or HSBC. I got my card blocked and asked the bank to cancel the policy as i had not applied for the same.
After that I called HSBC and TATA AIG many times. They are saying that you have to give written application for cancellation. Then I told that I have never opted for this policy then why should I apply for cancellation.
But they are always adding that amount to my statement.

                                Finally I destroyed the card.

But, still I am getting the calls from them regarding the payment.

Please help me what should I do in such situation.

AS I HAVE NEVER GIVE ANY ACCEPTANCE IN WRITTEN THEN WHY THEY ARE CHARGING ME FOR THIS KIND OF POLICY.

Hope for a positive reply me from your end.

I got a credit card from HSBC, after that i tried paying at a shopping mall, but the card dint work. It said transcation couldnt be processed due to invalid Card.
After that i never used that card.

Now they have generated a bill amounting to 5600/- and they want me to pay the same.
Got a call from their legal deptt saying that the bank is ready to settle it by accepting its fault and paying 50% of that amount.
The question is "Why do i pay for something which i dint use, and over that the mental harassment by these billing statements and inconvenience caused as the CARD did not work when i needed it"

Any idea how can i deal with this situation.

As sent to HSBC Credit Cards deptt.:-

                                      Sir,

My credit card no. is [protected].

I took two policies through your card promotional campaign from Tata-AIG namely :-
                                      1. IRHC [protected] - Rahul Kumar, policy taken on 13 Feb 2008.
                                      2. IRHC [protected] - Ranjana Bharti. policy taken on 14 Feb 2008.

I took policies through my HSBC Credit Card with transaction ID:-
                                      1. MCIT-[protected] - FOR RAHUL KUMAR AMOUNT Rs. 6711/- dated 13.2.2008
                                      2. MCIT-[protected] - FOR RAHUL KUMAR amount Rs. 4162/- dated 14.2.2008

I was told that I will receive my policy documents within 15 days, with an option to either continue the policies or cancel them if the policies does not suit my demands, the date would be counted after receiving the documents.

I was also intimated that I will have time of 15 days for either to accept or to deny the policy for which I will not be charged any amount if I cancel them within 15 days of receiving the documents.

I didn't received my policy papers within stipulated time frame and thereafter I enquired with them many times. I was told that my policy got returned when it was sent by DHL courier. Thereafter I requested for cancellation of my above mentioned policies with reference no[protected] dated 2nd April 2008 due to non-receipt of policy papers after many days of deduction of amount from my HSBC Card.

ON 8.4.2008, I received two SMS on my mobile No. [protected] stating that a sum of 25% on each policy has been deducted due to cancellation of policies. I appealed them many times for fraudelently deduction of 25% of policy amount and requested to kindly look into the matter and redeem the charges imposed on me due to cancellation of my policies because of non-receiving of policy documents after a long period and the clause of 25% charge of cancellation mustn't apply in my case since I have not receive the policiy documents till date and hence the above mentioned clause doesn't apply in my case.

My grievances with you is that every month an installment amount of Rs. 335.55 and Rs. 208.10 is deducted as installment of my policy amount which has already been cancelled. I tried to talk to your telecallers many times but they failed to reply satisfactorily. Everytime they told that they will talk to higher authority and revert back to me afterwards which hasn't happen till date. I wanted to know that when the policy has been cancelled :-
                                      (i) Even if 25% amount of policies is still debited, the account may have been closed by date. Else what is the status of the policy account and how much money will I have to pay?
(ii) Why i have not been responded by your side satisfactorily. Either your line gets cuts or no-one replies even if i am put on hold for hours.

YOU are kindly reqested to see into the matter and settle the problem.

                                      Rahul Kumar,

                                        Dear Sir/ Madam,

I am holding Credit Card of HSBC bank. My Card No. is [protected]. In the billing statement of last month (October, 2008) I was charged Rs. 1850 against a payment towards BSES on 30th September, 2008. But in actual I made this payment online through my account around 11.00 PM on 30th September and cancelled after half an hour due to some reason (using link "Change/Delete Future Bill Payments" provided on HSBC website). Even though I got confirmation for the cancellation of this payment and there was actually no payment made to BSES, it was charged to my credit card.
This status of non payment to BSES can also be easily checked by assessing the BSES Account online on BSES website (www.bsesdelhi.com). To access this account you can use the consumer reference number (CRN No.) of this account as [protected].
Please look into the matter and revert back this transaction of Rs. 1850 into my account.

HSBC Credit Card — Credit card payment dispute

                                        Hi There,
I have made payment to settle my credit card a/c of HSBC somewhere in November last year. Now company is telling that they have received only Rs. 500 and i need to pay Rs. 15000 +.
                                        My card no is [protected].
Unfortunately I have missed that receipt but I believe that the company must have duplicate (carbon copy) whit them from where they can find out the exact amount which I have paid. The are not co-operative in this regard and harassing me my making to many calls. I require some intervention form forum like this.
