IRCTC Pantry Car Rates — Food Rates

It is reported that I ordered the train’s pantry staff vendor for providing veg. meals. I was thereby provided veg. meals (THALI) without curd and lesser quantity of food as per scale. Not even that they demanded me cost of Rs 60/= each, instead of Rs, 32/= more as per Rate list fixed by railway authorities. When we asked the Pantry Car about more charging of meal he replied that Rates are fixed in G T Exp.

There are two trains running between New Delhi to Chennai TAMIL NADU EXP and GRAND TRUNK EXP. The running time is more than 30 hours. There is Pantry Car with the trains which causes different rates of meals to the passengers. Also the Meals are provided by TAMIL NADU EXP is very good and it a Superfast Train as charged Rs. 35/- for Ord. meals but GRAND TRUNK EXP is charged Rs. 60 & 65/- but meals is very poor condition. It is requested to check and manage for such rates for both are equal.

Travelled in 3 tier ac from Dhanapur (Patna) to Sc. Took Coffee 4 times and paid rs 40. took Break fast (Idly and vada) charged rs.40. and Veg Meals charged rs. 100. By the end of the journey I went to Pantry car and asked for the Bill and complaint book. The supervioser initially refused and when I insisted strongly, they politly returned the balance amount and begged me not to enter in complaint book. It is not the Caterring people fault it is the fault, laziness and easy going of the passengers, they are taking Advantage. ASK FOR THE MENU CARD TO THE GUY WHO SUPPLY FOOD (HE HAS TO COMPOULSORY KEET IT WITH HIM). THEN SEE...
I regularly travel by Duranto Express, now Shatabdi Express from Madras to Coimbatore..
They serve the same Paneer subji without ant exception. I doubt, whether the contractor has prepared the food ever since they were awarded the contract. They meticulously supply Cold iddly, Pongal etc. You collect a fat sum for food and this is not the way to spoil our stomach.Several complaints lodged and as usual, Railways are inert on action.

They always supply cardamom tea and not conventional tea. While the rate for tea is Rs.7/=, they take Rs.10 for cardamom tea.
Why is this? Why can't IRCTC terminate the contractor and fix another, better contractor? They are supposed to serve a good quality food.
The inspecting officials when they come for checking, they are pleased by supplying good food and are taken care of very well.
Please check the quality in Duranto Express running between Madras and Bangalore.
Quality of coach, food etc will tell the care taken by SWR, while SR is totally inert

Rite now I'm traveling with my family in Shalimar express, Delhi to Jammu. In pantry car they are providing low grade tea and cost is Rs.10 instead of Rs.7 and cost of meal is Rs. 100 per thali..

I'm requesting to our honourable minister Mr. Suresh Prabhu look into this matter. .

18237 CHH Exp 28/10/2016 traveling,

I am travelling in Hirakund exp 18508..The breakfast of bread cutlet is charging Rs. 50/- instead of Rs.30/-... Vendor is not ready to refund even after showing them the rate list...
I am regularly travelling in tpj hwh exp 12664 where pantry staff took for a meal 110 for n/v egg curry (only rice are provided not a single chapati) and for veg meal 100 rs when i asked why u r charging more then he replied it is revised menu rate has come.Even i asked for chapati they refused and told we are not providing chapati i[censored] interested to eat then ok otherwise we cannot give and his behavior are also very rudely.
pls check and take action of him.in food there is no water, curd and chapati they are providing two packets of rice only which is totally waste and poor quality.
Yesterday, I was traveling by Pragati Express from CST MUMBAI TO PUNE and was charged Rs. 47/- for vegetable burger 2 buttered slices and tomato sauce while IRCTC MENU shows as Rs.30/-. If the menu card is pasted in the compartment then the waiter erase the rates on menu card. Instead, in the e- ticket print out the menu tariff card be printed so that the railway yatris are not cheated. Why no MRP is mentioned on the breakfast casserole pack itself like any other products are sold. If no action is taken to stop this open corruption in the train, then I escalate the complaint to nextlevel. I also intend to file a complaint under consumer redressal forum, if no suitable action is taken.
Currently I am traveling from Bangalore to Ahmedabad in Yashvantpura Ahmedabad Express (16502). Just before few minutes on of the pantry staff member came to take order. He told me the cost of a thali is 100. When I went after him to pantry they told me that thay can provide me meal for 50 rps but with less quantity. They also told me to not share this with any one. My pnr is [protected].
Is this site having any atorny to provide justice for the cheated passangers from IRCTC on board vendors...???

So why I will raise my voice against those cheaters here...? Insread of giving a slap on the spot to those vending staffs...
Hi,

I am travelling from Darbhanga to Bangalore in Bachati Superfast Exp. I have ordered food from PC. I have asked rate for veg and non-veg they told 90 &100. When I showed price list he told we have both type of menu, but quantity wise both are same . Aslo, they do not give any sweet and seasonal vegetable. In veg they give potato, channa and some pieces of paneer that is also countable like 3-5 pieces. Now when I am asking pantry guy he is arguing with me. Who can see this matter. I am travelling from Sahamati super fast exp 12577 in B3-56 berth. Please can some body take action .
I am travelling from gonda to Ankleshwar in Awadh Express (19040), I have taken egg birayani (Two eggs) and he charged huge amount i.e. 80 Rs, the rice quality is very poor making for biryani and taste is also not good. Kindly look the matter.
I have seen PC personnel charged 2 to 3 times amount of most of the food against MRP value. I can be resolved in future.
