These people's business license should be revoked as they are putting a very negative image towards the indian tourism industry.

I am in complete agreement.
Tourist from the U.S. who received an inferior quality carpet, not the one I chose.

The carpets sellers in india are full of cheats. They are dishonest and dare to put false claims on the quality and material used in the carpets in writing. That is to say they dare to authenticate that the carpet is natural silk when it is not. They do not respect legal rights and any documents they gave to authenticate the carpets are of no significance. Be wary of of the carpet sellers. They are so convincing and there are so many fakes around. You have to bargain real hard to perhaps 20% of the price quoted. Dont buy if you are not familiar or you will end up very upset and your holiday will be ruined! I was cheated as was told the carpet is natural silk and it turned out to be synthetic silk. It would have cost me much cheaper to buy the same in my country. When I complained to the shop keeper the next day after I have the carpet verified by an expert, the cheats still insisted that it is natural silk. We can never win them.. they are such good crooks! What can I do when I have made a full payment... we can never win them. So be vary when you go shopping in India

We purchase carpets and other hand made goods from Kashmir Cashmere, Delhi, on regular basis for export to London. The quality of the carpets has always been excellent. The service is great and the price very keen.
We recommend Kashmir Cashmere to anyone visiting Delhi and looking for quality carpets.

On a tour from Perx through Delhi, Agra and Jaipur this was the last stop on our first day. The salesmen were pushy and I felt obligated to buy. If anything, the gents were skilled at working tourists for their money. After "calling the family" that made the carpet to verify that my offer for 1/2 the quoted price. The gentlemen left the room and returned 5 minutes later with the OK. The website on their card is fake and I have doubts to the legitimacy of their claims.
I purchased a carpet whilst on holiday in India. I agree that the quality and look of the carpet is very nice, but my concern is when they tell you that they will cover the shipping and duty charges- THIS IS NOT CORRECT. I ended up having to pay additional monies upon coming home. The problem with this is- I did not return for months after I purchased the rug, so because of this, my charges went into collections. Please be aware of their sales tactics and prepare to pay more money if you are having it shipped back to the US.

We had an excellent experience. I suspect that as happens in so many places around the world where western tourists are considered a source of easy money and are not always perceived as polite and courteous, that different people may get different services and products. It may also depend on the staff on any given day. We had enough knowledge going in to ask politely about their home, their village, the impacts of recent floods on their lives. Our driver had arranged an appointment and had probably given a bit of information to the staff on what kind of tourists we were - it was day 4 with him. We had the "professor" as our salesman. Very gracious. We also had enough knowledge to ask polite but informed questions about the carpets. Our experience is that a bit of homework can bring different products out for display. Yes, some answers were perhaps a bit exagerated, but not lies. It is not the same as shopping in Westernized countries and one just needs to go in knowing this. Our carpet arrived, as signed by us on the back before we left the store, within a week. No extra taxes, no shipping charges. They did list a much lower price on the shipping bill of lading and we could perhaps have had some duty if we had to compare our bill to the shipping paperwork. But then we have also taken carpets on our own out of other countries and ended up having to pay extorted "baggage fees" or "taxes" that cost as much as the carpet to get them on the plane. We always hold our breath and hope for the best when we purchase anything on these adventures to countries with "tourist targets" for shoppers. Sometimes it is the great deal we think we have negotiated and sometimes the gold has lots of copper in it to look "gold", the silver is not silver, the silk is NOT silk, the painting is an original - mass produced by teenage boys in the "tourism industry", and the carpet dye runs. Or the camel hair carpet slides everywhere so you cant walk on it anyway because the runner is too narrow and it just sends you flying down the hall. It's all part of the story and the memory or the adventure. It ain't Macy's shopping!
