[Resolved]  Lion Dates Pvt. Ltd, Trichy, Tamilnadu — Worms in Lion Dates

I purchased Lion dates which July 2009 packed. I saw several worms coming out of the box.
This is really disgusting. Please call up the customer care and inform this. Apparently when I spoke to one of the customer care person he informed that he very well knows about this problem. But little action is taken on fixing the issue.
As far as ISO certification is conerned, I think the certification authorities are corrupt just like any other
government agencies. They give away certification to anyone taking bribe.
As far as Food Safety and Standards Authority of India is concernted, they are existing for namesake.

Even i purchased Lion dates two days before that is on 7 th september 2009 in Hyderabad...it contains lots of worms and my wife who is pregnant was about to consume it...Thank god she noticed it and informed me...i dont know what ISO 9000 stand for...if this is the standard then am sorry i will never purchase this one ever again...thanks and good bye

I purchased lion dates from chennai, i saw live worms coming out of it. (batch no: D407 Sep 09 )

I wonder how these companies get ISO 9001: 2000 and whether they follow food safety measures.

we are regular customers of lion dates & syrup never faced any quality problem, we purchased two packets of 500plus 100 grams pack from nilgiris super market Brigade road Bangalore on 25/12/09 when i opened for consumption has become soggy, unfit for human consumption I have stored the same for replacement, please get the same replaced at the earliest.

I endorse this complaint. I am also a regular customer purchasing this item. However, over the last two times I have seen weevils in the packet.
I am writing to their Customer Care hoping to hear a response. My complaint is more recent-June 2010- on a packaged date of May2010. So surely...it's not an outdated item.

When I opend the box I was shocked that there are somany worms and insects. Is this a good way to cheat the consumer who trusts u?THE batch number is sd81.My friends also noticed the same. I think you cant pack without worms.Please take action and try to not repeat the same if not all will stop buying it. Outside the packet is attractive and inside ...YUCK...

I just opened up a pack of lion deseeded dates packed on 07 jan 2012 according to the date on pack. barely 2 months from then, I see orms crawling out of it. I didnot get anything else to eat counting on it and am punished now. I thought l was a really good brand and greedily bought 3 of them, gave 1 to my friend too. awaiting a call from him now.
