[Resolved]  Mahindra car finance — Mahindra car finance-A dreadful encounter

Every company in today’s competitive business scenario is conscious of its image or reputation i.e. how its products or services are perceived by outsiders. In a business climate when businesses are actively working to create and communicate a positive image to their customers and general public; the lousy corporate image that a Big and reputed corporate house such as ‘Mahindra car finance’ is sending out to the public came in as a Big shock.
I can never forget the dreadful date, 28th September 2009, the last day of Durga puja (Dashami) when we (i.e. me, my parents and my younger brother) decided on a short trip to Shillong which is just 3 hours away from Guwahati and we planned to return back on the same day itself so that we could resume our work from the next day.
We decided on a Maruti van for our trip which is a car belonging to my father’s acquaintance. The trip went all fine. By 3.30 we were through and decided to return back to Guwahati. Today I thank God that we were done early because here came in the Big unexpected shocker on our platter. We had just left Police Bazaar and after completing 20-25 minutes drive; our car was stopped midway by people who claimed to be agents of Mahindra car finance and they also had a list in their hand with the details of the cars which had not paid the installments. Yes, I agree that the number of our car was there in the list but then we didn’t have the least idea of what was happening. It wasn’t our car after all.
Here I would like to emphasize on the quality of agents Mahindra hires. These people are actually goons or gangsters. Well, I can’t think of a better word to describe them. They misbehaved with me and my parents. First of all I fail to understand why these so called goons or gangsters of Mahindra had to stop the car in the middle of the road where no people could be seen and only one or two cars crossed the road. We were just tourists and not localities out there. We didn’t know the places properly and neither we knew anybody from whom we could get any help. My mom requested them repeatedly to let us go. She asked them to keep the car; if that is really what they had intended to do. But no, they would not listen; on the contrary they used my cell phone to call up the owner of the car but could reach no conclusion. The three of them were such rowdy characters that no respectable person would want to talk to them.
I told my mom repeatedly that what they are interested in is not the car but it is money in which they are more interested in. After a hell lot of drama they did agree that they could help us in settling the matter outside the company premises for a sum of 4 to 5 thousand. This is the quality of Mahindra’s hired agents….Well, the point which I would want to stress upon is; we don’t know those people but ultimately we suffered coz of the people hired by the company. We know Mahindra and the people they are hiring to represent the company is simply shocking. My dad called up the company office too but some stupid lady picked up the call who could not understand a thing. Wow!!! Hats off to the company for hiring such lousy and quality less manpower. A company is represented by its people and well, what quality of manpower Mahindra hires is a big question mark.
We didn’t pay a penny to those jokers. We had to return back to Police Bazaar and book for our self a Maruti Swift once again. We were delayed by an hour or so and had to face harassment for no fault of ours at all.
Corporate image and ethics goes for a toss at Mahindra. If given a chance, I would rate negative for Mahindra’s corporate image and ethics. But for the time being, let’s settle for a Big round and bold zero for Mahindra’s corporate image and culture. Mahindra car finance is truly a loser in terms of its image.
