Sir,
Time and again people have been complaining about being charged higher than MRP by every shop keeper in the area the reason is because they get that milk from the distributor at MRP. So they charge Rs. 2 for every litre and Rs. 4 if you are late arrival which is their freezing charges.
As per my understanding, any producer after considering their profit margin and the retailers margin they put an MRP on the product. In that case, the profit margin is covered by the producer which also includes a profit margin for the retailers or so called distributors which enable a consumer get a product on MRP.
I see no action been taken despite such malpractices going on in Bangalore. I have been staying in Bangalore since 2007 and have always faced these kind of situations. So, if I am buying 1 litre of Nandini Orange Milk everyday, I pay Rs 2 to Rs 4 extra on MRP meaning Rs. 60 to Rs 120 additional every month for no good reason.
If we are planning from the street side distributors of Nandini Milk - they always say that their quota has got exhausted. Why this is happening because they have tie-ups with the shopkeepers who purchase 60-100 litres of milk on a dialy basis to sell in their shops.
So, what about the common man who cannot afford to pay Rs. 60-120 extra every month.
Can you consumer courts take some positive action on these matters.
Please take some prompt and immediate action on people sellling products higher than MRP or the distributors selling the product at MRP whenst they receive at a lesser pricing than MRP.
Let's make this a turnaround of events taking place and people stop these malpractices - this is also one kind of corruption when you are being charged a price higher than MRP on a daily basis.
Dear Consumer Protection Council members and authorities - do we have a choice, if you guys don't take care o[censored]s - there is no way we can stop this and who know on how many such products we are being charged highly on a daily basis.
People are ready to pay that extra money coz they don't have the time to fight for such causes and that is the only reason such practices get a boost.
Come on guys, do something, this is for all citizens of Karnataka who consume Nandini Milk on a daily basis.
