(1) INTRODUCTION

(I the consumer S K Garg is working in M/s Alpha G: Corp Development Pvt. Ltd., 5 Aradhana Enclave, New Delhi-66 is working as a Deputy G. M. Technical and looking after the operations, maintenance and construction of the commercial centers. Considering my nature of job my company has decided to provide me the mobile phone for the official use. I purchased one Nokia make (Model Number 3220) mobile phone from M/s Rupz Carz & Phonz, 10165, Padam Singh Road, Karol Bagh, New Delhi-110005 on dated 17.09.2005 vide cash memo number 1266 for value of Rs. 6500.00 who are the authorized dealers of Nokia. At the time of purchasing the set the Owner of the shop convinced me about the facilities of the mobile set and about the service network of Nokia. I purchased the set by paying full payment.

(2) TRANSACTION

Purchase Details:
1. Dealer: Rupz Carz & Phonz, 10165, Padam Singh Road, Karol Bagh, New Delhi-110005.
2. Date of Purchase: 17.09.2005.
3. Prduct purchase: 1Number Nokia mobile-3220 (No.[protected]
4. Amount Paid: Rs. 6500.00 in cash.
5. Warranty: by Rupz Carz & Phonz Through their principles M/s Nokia India and service dealers.

(3) DEFECT/DEFICIENCY

Repair Details:

1. First Complaint (Telephonic) to M/s Rupz Carz & Phonz, 10165, Padam Singh Road, Karol Bagh, New Delhi-110005 regarding the deterioration of the rubber side panels within 2 months time but I was told that the rubber parts are not covered under warranty and moreover the same is not available in the market therefore the same was purchased from the outside.

2. Charging Problems: As per the advice of the said dealer the set was deposited to the nearest service center, Time Emporium, S-8, Green Park market, New Delhi-110016 on 06.07.2006 and I was told that the set shall be sent to the company for the repair (Refer Service Job Sheet- N.[protected]/060706/14 wherein the Warranty Reference Number was given as APAINY[protected] and IMEI NO. [protected] instead of [protected]. The set was not traced in the company, when I contacted on the Nokia’s customer cell on dated 08.07.2006, 12.07.2006, 19.07.2006 (The complaint number has been given to me 2#1B4ZEV), finally I got the repaired set from the same Service center and the complaint was closed on 19.07.2006 but M/s Nokia was still to receive the set.

3. Problem repeats: Immediately after receiving the repaired set the multiple problems occurred and when I contacted to the Nokia customer Care I had been told to deposit the set on their service center, I once again submitted the same set to Time Emporium, S-8, Green Park market, New Delhi-110016 on 02.08.2006 vide manual service job sheet number 0518258 with the corrected IEMI No. [protected] and they told me that this is a repetition of the job therefore it will go the company for thorough checkup and mentioned the “II Time repetition & Phone Dead”.

4. After a week time I contacted the Customer Cell on 07.08.2006, 07.08.2006, 10.08.2006, 11.08.2006, 12.08.2006, 17.08.2006, 18.08.2006, 21.08.2006, 23.08.2006, 24.08.2006, 26.08.2006, 29.08.2006, 01.09.2006, 02.09.2006, 06.09.2006 but no satisfactory answer was given by the customer cell and they were not able to trace my mobile set even as on today.

5. When I inquired from Time Emporium, S-8, Green Park market, New Delhi-110016 on 19.08.2006 then great to my surprise I was told that my set is out of warranty and they asked for the photocopy of the bill, which I forwarded to them on 21.08.2006 but now they mentioned the IEMI No. [protected], Job Warranty: Yes and Repeated Job: No. Please Refer Service Job sheet No.[protected]/060821/124 dated 21.08.2006.

6. I was continuously following to the Nokia’s Customer cell but there was no proper feed back from their side.

7. I complained through their website but I am yet to receive any reply from them.

In view of the above chronology of the complaints and the information’s gathered from my friends I am of the opinion that the particular model number of the Mobile Set is having manufacturing fault and M/s Nokia as not able to provide the after sale services. Their Authorized service centers are not capable of handling the complaints and moreover their customer care staff who is sitting in the Bangalore office is simply befooling the customers. Now as on today the warranty has been expired reasons best known to M/s Nokia and their authorized sales dealers. M/s Rupz Carz & Phonz, 10165, Padam Singh Road, Karol Bagh, New Delhi-110005, authorized sales dealers should be instructed to sell the third class product.

(4) RECTIFICATION

In addition to the above I represented my case to the Core Center, consumer Online resources & Empowered center, Ministry of consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, department of Consumer Affairs, Govt. of India. (copy of the letter enclosed); I am yet to receive the reply from M/s Nokia.

(5) OTHER PROVISIONS

Breach of trust by a company of repute like Nokia.

I would like to inform you that i had purchased a nokia 6600 from dealer dot com, pyne electronic, akhan bazar, chinsurah, hooghly, 712101 west bengal, india, mobil no +91 [protected] on 03/05/2006. I had sent it for servicing via dealer on 01/05/2007. I received the set on date 14/05/2007. After coming from servicing, i find my set not working properly. There is a problem with the keypad and the joystick. When i approached the dealer to send it to your service station to verify the problem - he refused to do so, and insisted on me visiting it personally. After many requests also he was adamant on not sending the set to you service station. I fail to understand what kind of after sales service are your esteemed dealers providing the customers.
Re: Nokia

On the subject issue it is to be intimated that I purchased a NOKIA handset Model no. 6060v, IMEI No. [protected] from the local dealer 'Arvisha Stores' Dahod (Guj) on 12.03.07. From the very beginning the battery started to discharge completely within 35-40 hours even on days when handset remained unused. On making complaint, the battery was replaced by the dealer but the problem of quick discharge could not be overcome. Thereafter a new problem emerged while unfolding the phone. The handset remains partially open even after pressing fully. The matter was referred to 'NOKIA Care Center' Ahmedabad through the dealer along with handset but the same was returned unattended classifying the problem as physical damage. Lastly 'NOKIA Care Center' remarked that the problem can not be covered under warranty repair.

The explanation given by the 'NOKIA Care Center' is not susceptible for the reason that on falling, dropping or hitting dent marks or scratches will first appear on outer surfaces of handset. On the contrary my handset looks as good as new. Secondly all its systems are functioning properly. If the phone had fallen, it would have been damaged from out side too and its functioning affected adversely.

It is therefore requested to arrange to replace this defective piece by a new one issuing necessary instructions to the dealer.

I had purchased Nokia 6300 I.M.E.I. [protected] DATED 04-06-07 bill NO 3574 from Subhiksa Store sco 91 SECTOR 5 Panchkula (Haryana)last week. No doubt the set is good in all aspects but the battery backup is very poor. After receiving one to two heavy calls the battery goes down. Although I haven't shown this thing to Customer care.
I purchased NOKIA 6275 on[protected] .Its back cover was loose since purchase. After a few weeks, a part of back cover came out even without falling of phone.On showing to nokia service center, they said that it was broken by falling on floor. But when I asked them to show any other marks on phone to prove their point, they simply returned the phone and asked to complain NOKIA care. Nokia care also did not take responsibility to change defective cover. Even today all new 6275 phones can be seen with loose back covers.

Also only 1 hour of talking gets its battery down while company claims 4 hours talktime. I remember my old L G phone which mistakenly fell from first floor and amazingly and it got only a few scratches. IT is still working even after 2 years of that incidence.

Can I know the outcome of the case or the progress of the case? I am myself planning to sue Nokia in Consumer Court of India over sale of faulty 6080. I have already posted an article on this website related to the same issue.

Nokia3220 — cover not changed

Dear Sir,
I have changed my mobile body from your mobile store, Indrapuri, BHEL, Bhopal on3rd Sep, 08.
But within a week there is problem in the body, which i reported to shop(MrBrijesh Singh), but since than they are giving a deaf ear to my problem.I have visited your shop somany times, but every time they are making excues without solving my problem.
you are requested to look into my matter or else I have to take legal action against you & your mobile store.

Nokia 3220 Phone — Battery

I have a Nokia 3220 for more than a year. I replaced the battery BL-5B within the warrenty period as the battery life was very poor. Now when i got a battery replacement, it is expalnding(swelling) from both the sides. I took it out of the phone with the risk of explosion. I took it to the Nokia Care Dwarka New Delhi branch and they refused to change it even after telling that i can even explode. The center manager Mr Kamal Aggarwal said that nokia will be responsible even if the battery explodes but they will not change it coz it has expired the warrenty period. The battery life is not a problem. The battery does not goes into the phone as it has expanded. I'm really shocked that Nokia takes the responsibilty of battery explosions besides replacing it. Please reply soon as this matter can go into consumer court affairs.

nokia-3220 — service

the mobile nokia 3220 srl no-[protected] product code 0529848 was given to nokia care hcl guwahati ground floor garima grand, dr b baruah road guwahati 780007 for rectifing the defect .accordingly the nokia care gave us the estimate of rs 500/appx vide job sheet no . [protected] .we are govt organaisation and these mobile phones are utilised in govt duty. now the nokia care is not reparing the mobile phone and is asking us to return back the paper ie. service job sheet

    I gave my nokia mobile at the nokia care center, mango, jamshedpur, india on 31st july for repairing. The mobile was under warranty period. The concerned person at the shop told me that they need 10 days to get it repaired. But till now the mobile is there with the care center. They have failed to trace the whereabouts of the phone. Every time i go there they very politely ask for another 7 days.

    Also the customer care of india don't even bother to respond to our calls or mails.

    At last i am very fade up with the customer care.

    I will never advice any of the friends to buy any nokia product.

    I do agree with Sanjay Kumar. I am also very disappointed with Nokia Care
    It shows us a dictatorship of Nokia Care and customers have no other option in this kind of situation.
    Nokia made the rules and Customers have to abide by the rules of Nokia.

    The only options left for us/customer is either go to the consumer court for concern and/or educate the people that you should not go with NOKIA.

    Nokia 6030 — No Modem found on my m0bile

    This is a complaint in regard with modem,
    When im trying to get net connection to my pc im not able to connect to my mobile because no modem found on my mobile it is saying,but im able to transfere data, from my mobile to pc and vi
    ce -versa,so kindly resolve me the issue .
    I also want to know wether nokia 6030 is compatible for net connection.
    The batteries of Nokia co have some problem but still people trust on it. But Nokia is not giving proper services to customer and now I also feel that I should shift my mobile to other Co.

    Nokia should improve their service facility and tried for the consumer satisfaction.
    my nokia model is 5070 and i have cable for
    nokia 5070 but modem was not suppot to the mobile. And
    i have no software of modem that's why i have downloaded from nokia modem 5070 software.

    So please give me advise and give me how to installation to the pc to mobile with modem and also modem software

    i have purchased a nokia set 5030 from mobile bazar kharangajhar telco jamshedpur on 23/09/09
    at 18.30 after inserting sim checked the set found very poor sound also giving huming noise after
    puting loudspeaker on and radio not tunnig the station . informed mobile seller after half an hour
    they he refused to hear complain and to contact service centre pl suggest what iwill do

      Iam using..nokia n81 ..and iam unable to access "my network" i mean while am trying to connect with my office local area network...by WLAN..and have found my mobile "nokia n81" in my networks in my office machine but when i click that nokia n81 iam unable to access my mobile even the contents is sharable mode in my mobile but when i click on mobile icon in the machine its opening a page of "not found 404"....so plz let me know how to overcome this....if this is an application problem plz let me know where should i give my mobile..to serviced...

      I went in nokia service centre for the first time in chinchwad skyline service centre which was a horrible expierance where there was a Q as big as railway ticket booking counter i got the token of 22 no. that is the system which took almost one haur and in the mean time i went for the xerox of the bill the token no.crossed 24 and for this reason he did not entertain me as if i was in some type of police station he told me to get out and when complaint in the front office they told me to go some where else what a shame that means we buy nokia to get ourself insulted and on top of that N series people are allowed whithout any token and waiting what is this why this people is offerd a service centre i am sure that this will bring the name down of nokia in short buy nokia to get insulted.
      I had always had a trouble with the service centers. I have Nokia 6275i CDMA phone and since I bought it in Nov-2007, the phone has been sent to Service Center three times within less than a years time. Each time, it as been an insulting situation at these Nokia Service Centers. First time when the phone receiver developed fault, they didn't consider the phone on warranty saying I may be using a wrong charger. The receiver normally doesn't give away so quickly in three months time. After a lot of fighting they finally accepted it under warranty. Second time around, they didn't have any problems in considering the fault under warranty but it took me 48 days to get back my mobile. Third time, the speakers have stopped working. Can't hear incoming calls as the mobile doesn't ring. When I took it for servicing under warranty, their new tantrum was that there was a small piece of the casing (which had brken off just after I bought the phone) and so they cannot consider it under warranty. There is no relationship between the casing breakage (2mm casing corner broken) with the fault in the phone but still their argument was that they can't consider it under warranty inspite of the fact that it had undergone warranty repairs in last two instance with the broken casing. They cnsider that there must be mistake by the service men in not detecting it before (mistake for two times on the traught???) The Service Center manager was so rude and arrogant with me, I had to leave the store and got it repaired from another service center that too under warranty.
      The Service Center I'm talking about above is Shree Communication, (Shop No-1 & 2, Yashogita Building, Near Mhatre Bridge, Next to Matai Chembers, Erandwane, Pune)

      I would request other Nokia mobile owners to avoid this service center and request Nokia to cancel its Service agreement with them.

      I went in nokia service centre for the Second time in chinchwad SKYLINK Service Centre. First i was went on 28/08/08, having a prob. of Sound output was not clear, at that time i got token number 27, while running numer was 21. its take atmost Hour to come my token number, I got my handset after a Hour with chaing a speaker, i check it it was O.K. But after 2 Days it gave me same problem. On 04/09/08 I went second time to that servive center, haveing same problem. It was a horrible experience where there was a Q, that service center was totally full of the cust. haveing a problem in there hansets. I got the token of 62 no. First i was rejected to give a token number by saying that it is full we dont now when your number will come & we dont have token numbers also. I was given token in written handwriting it was token No 62. And was suggest to come after 2:00 Pm, as there is big Q. Runnig Token number was 31. @ 11:30 am On 04/09/08, When i reach there, i said i have taken a token & i was suggest to come after 2:00 Pm, Can i go inside, He again refuse me saying your Number is gone take another token number & wait in Q, Q was again same, for this reason he did not repair my hanset, what a shame that means we buy nokia to get ourself insulted and on top class people are allowed whithout any token and waiting what is this why this people is offerd a service centre i am sure that this will bring the name down of nokia in short buy nokia to get insulted.

      I would request other Nokia mobile owners to avoid this service center and request Nokia to cancel its Service agreement with them.

      I am a Nokia E91 user for a year now. The experience was like having a huge lame elephant at home! The phone had mike problems right from the work GO! Wonder what the Nokia Quality Control department does while testing such handsets. The phone boots up occasionally - just as Murphy's law would have it!

      For anyone wanting to buy the E90, here's my honest advice - stay miles away from it. It's like buying a Merc that delivers the lowest mileage in its class.

      Dear Sir/Madam,

      This refers to the above mentioned subject, I wish to draw your kind attention towards the following for your immediate action :-

      I am regular user of Nokia mobile phone since 10 years and I had bought a new GSM Nokia E-62 mobile set from your dealer M/s.Star Mobile Ltd, G-26, South Extn. Part-1, New Delhi on 24th December’ 2007 refer SL. No.[protected] with the Brown Panel vide Bill No.17254.

      Sir, the symbol key ‘S’ of my phone was not working properly and I was facing the problem with this key and my phone was under the warranty so I have given handset to your Nokia Service Centre at HCL Infosystems Ltd. S-10, Green Park Extn. (Near Uphar Theatre), New Delhi on 19th May’2008.

      As per commitment by the service centre I had visited on 26th May’2008 for collecting my phone but I found that they had swap my phone with a new serial No.[protected] with a silver panel which was in a very bad condition. I have resubmitted my phone with a request that please return my original phone which was new.

      Again I have visited on 2nd June’2008 at the same service center and I met with Mr.Sunil, Mr.Rupam and Mr.Ritesh Tomar and when I asked about my phone they said my original phone which is having serial no. SL. No.[protected] with the Brown Panel got lost by them and again they were giving me the old handset.

      I refused to take the old mobile phone and again requested to return my handset but they said they are not going to change my mobile phone and you have to take only this old mobile set.

      I HAVE SUBMITTED MY PHONE 5 TIMES AT YOUR NOKIA SERVICE CENTRE refer your job sheet No.[protected], [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected]. Five months have already been passed but till today that is 17/09/2008 I have not received my phone.

      I am very much harassed by the Nokia and Finally I have decided that to give this information in writing before taking any strong / legal step against you with the help of Consumer Court and News paper / Media.

      I request your goodself to kindly return my original phone within a week’s time from the date of issuance of this letter with the extended warranty of six months which I have lost because of your organization otherwise I have not left any other option but to take action deems fit in this case.

      Dear Sir,

      I purchased a Nokia 6275 CDMA handset in Gurgaon on 10 Dec 2007 for Rs 10, 000/-. Within 6 months, the display started developing a snag in the form of transverse lines on the display which kept increasing in number and density till most of the screen became black. I took the phone to an authorized centre Net Dot in West Delhi on 13 Aug 2008 where I was told that the display was broken and hence will have to be replaced on payment despite warranty. Thinking that it may have been an odd chance, I paid Rs 1606/- and got the display changed. Within three weeks, once again the display started developing the same transverse lines on the screen and within next 15 days or so the screen became black, exactly like the first time. I presented the phone to the Net Dot Nokia Care on 09 Oct 2008 through my rep but he was turned away and was told that another 1606/- will have to be paid. On my return to Delhi on 16 Nov 2008, I personally went to the Net Dot Nokia Care where again they claimed that display has been broken due to a fall or something and hence payment will have to be made. I fail to understand how an impact to the phone, as claimed by the Nokia Care, should lead to failing of the display over two-three weeks on two separate occasions.

      Kindly tell me how I can seek redressal for my genuine grievance.

      I fully agree with the above complaints made by various Nokia handset users. The staff & the engineers of all nokia cervice centres are very rude/harsh & they do not hesitate event to abuse or insult he customer.
      My sincere advice to the concerned Nokia authorities is that they should look in to the matter & take very strict & disciplinary action against the erroring service centres (i.e. 1) Akshay Telecommunication - F.C. road, Pune & Skylink - Chinchwad)

      software applications not working inspite of giving the phone for service at bandra (mumbai). the on / off switch and the switches on either sides have been changed without notification & damaged switches have been fixed instead . the phone has been purchased in june 2008 and is within warranty period. will be obliged if the right person could look into this matter and get back to me ASAP. thanks.
      I totally agree with above complaints. I had same type of experience when I went there for repairing my mibile 6300. Initiall i went to Nikia service center in chinchwad which is opp. to Telco gate. There was a problem with display but once i got it back I saw the body was broken. I showd that to them but they said that it must have broken in service centers of Nokia!! After that new problem shown in my mobile so i went to Skylink. There also i got very bad experience. These gyus are very rude. The engineers in customer care center are not experience people. I asked service center owner about feedback form, he said the forms will come in next month!!! Horrible experience. I solde my 8k rs mobile in 2k! and promise myself not to buy Nokia phone in future!!! Please let me know how to make official complaint about these centers ?
      Worst ever service I got from international band & Desi people..!!

      It was repaired but with nonfunctional Volump Up button, so gave it back & then I got it back with broken memory slot flap, replaced back cover(mine was good one & the thing I got was worst). When I trold this fact to the service person, he kept on telling me it is nto so, even he was worst to even talk.
      Then I had talk with the center manager(Mr Naresh Nankani(Partner), MS Pranali
      ), also an owner (probebly) of Nokia shop in the same building.
      He was also taking his person's side rather than investigating the issue or rather hsi attempt was to tell me that how i am irresponsible that i did not check the phone properly before giving it for servicing.
      I recommand never use their service else forget getting phone back in good condition.
      Worst people I have seen ever !!

        dear sir/madam
        i purchased the model no. 6681 on 05.12.2006,(in warranty) .i think that i made a large mistake to purchase to this.
        firstly when i have promplem then i went to your center on 8 aug and they will return my handset after 20 days,now on 6 oct again i face same problem,and i take again to your center at carezone,siddhi vinayak complex.new sanager road,jaipur,and continusly calling ,but they said that wait for 48 hours.i also callat your delhi ,(no 30303838 to mr umesh) complaint no.2-2isvrp ,but no one give me a satisfied answer.
        but now i am very fadeup from this set and i want to change this or refund my money otherwise i will take any legal action against your company.

          I am one of the good FAN of Nokia handsets. I am from one of the big telecom company and using the mobile from the day 1 of GSM service started in INDIA. I have being using NOKIA handsets i.e from 2110 nokia handset to N70 ( 6 to 7 models IN between ) 13 years of mobile user . I regert why i have purchased N70 handset .
