I commute from Bangalore to Chennai on weekends and I am really disappointed by the services of KSRTC. Let me tell you two instances -
1. I bought a ticket for a bus which was supposed to depart at 10:45 PM and surprisingly, the bus came at 11:50 PM to pick the passengers. I used this time to ask others as to what is their condition and have finally concluded that if you book a ticket for a bus which has to depart at 10:30 PM, you can come at 11:30 PM and still catch the bus and the chances of missing the bus is 0%.
2. One another occasion the week before, I did not reserve my ticket and went straight to the bus stand to see if I can get a bus by any chance. I approached the bus conductors and to my dismay all the buses were full. Then, I was approached by a broker who has asked me Rs.450 for Rajahamsa (while the actual fare is Rs.255). I had no option but to shell out the extra bucks as the buses were full. To my surprise, he took me to a bus conductor, who had earlier refused issuing me a ticket on the grounds of seats being full. I could have fought back but unfortunately, I do not know Kannada.
I am not sure in what direction is India heading. People are least bothered about the happenings around them (and that includes me)...If there is anything which can stop this, that is unity among the public and strong determination among all to discourage the brokers by not buying the tickets through them.
