In this modern world there is no meter system in Thane district, Naigoan, Vasai, Nalasoapra and Virar, and also there are no BEST buses too, so to travel you get completely dependable on this rickshaws, and they have been ripping off the passengers by demanding any amount they think looking at the customers status, and you have no choice just bargain with few of and finally you will give up and pay the price, the minimum fare they ask for is Rs 30, for ex. on Nalasopara link road, at DeMart you will find few rickshaws standing, and I live on the same street maybe 10 to 11th building will be mine, not even 3 minutes, and if you bargain with them, about the distance, they will not entertain as they know people pay they amount as they have no option, if you want to go from east to west or Vice versa, they will charge you anywhere around Rs 80 and above, and if you follow the meter, it would be more than Rs 25 to Rs 30, everyone is fed up with them but have no option, people are just waiting for the RTO to start the meter service, please help the world is progressing and these areas are still treated like a village.
